I have a handlebar mount and a helmet mount (top of helmet). I prefer the helmet mount since it looks out over my windscreen plus moving my head gets shots of cross traffic, cute girls, other bikes, etc...

My camera came with adhesive pads for helmet mounting. For a while I tethered my camera in case the adhesive loosened but it's been on for about 4 years now and isn't going anywhere.

Not legal where I live and I can't see how it's safe to be between two cars instead of just occupying your own slot in the lane. First of all with the risk of someone being triggered and blocking you for overtaking or a distracted driver plowing you down with his orders of magnitude more powerful car. I sometimes get picked up by friends and they often get stressed when a motorcyclist does that lane cutting. No one likes a tight space especially in traffic.

It's safe because no one can rear end you if you're between two cars. Where lane splitting is legal, it's illegal to do any of the things you said. You can't impede a biker's path, but you don't have to get out of the way either. In places it's legal, cars watch out for it and bikers know when they can and can't do it.
The space isn't as tight as it seems from in a car.

Also it benefits traffic by not having someone take up a full spot. It makes the flow better.

Blipping the throttle makes shifting smoother. That is it. It has nothing to do with increasing the longevity of your clutch/transmission/engine or any other nonsense you hear touted around here. All it does is make riding more pleasant because the bike will be less jerky. It also doubles as a racing technique. It's pretty straight forward stuff really. Different gears require different RPMs to support certain speeds. For example, you can go 60mph in 1st at 15k, 2nd at 11k, 3rd at 7k, 4th at 5k, etc... If you hit these precise RPM ranges while you're shifting when you have the clutch pulled in, the bike wont jerk and it'll be a seamless shift.

Yes. It's a bit weak but it will do just fine to start on. They're pretty cheap and seem to hold their value ok but I warn you, you'll probably want to sell it in a year or 2 when you start trying to do wheelies.
It handles nicely though and keeps up fine on winding roads as long as you keep the revs up, my friend is at about 25000km and has spent a lot of time near or at the redline and his bike hasn't had any trouble. It does ok on the highways too but it does feel a bit buzzy.

Just don't expect crazy power out of a corner or off the line or top speeds like a liter/600 sportsbike.

At least in my country, every single biker you meet will focus his passion entirely on high speed, stunts, and other retarded adrenaline-junkie pursuits. Oh my fucking god, this suction cup mount on the tank is pure sex. Had to remove the windscreen and can't tuck but no wind noise, more engine noise and the angle are more than worth it. Just need to figure out how to prevent the clicking noises from the plastic bits.
