I posted this for the amerifats yesterday, but would like to get your european opinion on it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7LLQ-QE5gI
Can you tell me what you think of this?
I'm trying to go for a few things.
1. Make the video as short as possible
2. Get some better editing done, so the videos stand out
3. I need feedback on my voice/sound etc
I would really appreciate some comments here, or on the videos.
A sub is always great, but only do it if you genuinely want to stick around!
Thanks a bunch,
Love you lots, like jelly tots!

the problem is that I'm already riding at such a level on my bike (BMW F650 btw) that I can't really push it in the corners any more that I already do it. I almost ate shit last week after going into a steep downhill bend, scraping my centre stand, and kind of dipping into a small pothole. this almost threw me off the bike into oncoming traffic, but I managed to save it.

So yeah, that bike is not really a prospect for me anymore.

it really isn't, but it was a good beginner bike for me

as for street riding, I'll probably get a FZ6 fazer or a SV650 as my next bike, I'll still have to decide as soon as I can test both

And maybe if I find the space/time, I'll get a small dirt bike to do some offroading somewhere in Poland or italy,s o I won't have to compromise anymore

Foinal update: Track day was noice.

Oddly enough I didnt surpass the chicken strips on the front I garnered on the toogay, I was riding on the limit of the rear nearly all the time.

Some guys with track bikes and tire warmes and fans and all the stuff were going surprisingly slow. On the last session I got passed once by a biddy and that was that.

The filter made most of the footage too dark. Video length was about right but still lacked anything particularly interesting. Just keep at it. It's a work in progress.

Hi.
The 125 is my dads, but im insured on it, so i ride it sometimes when needs be. The harley is my DD.

Thanks for the feedback on the colours.
I was tired of seeing standard colours on gopro stuff, maybe i cut off those blacks too much, but i literally dont care whether my starter button is visible or not.
Please note that im riding during the evening hours WITH an nd filter. I still had to up the brightness of the footage, so all in all i think i did okay.
Again thanks for genuine feedbqck :)

>>15886995
Bruh, i qccept that, and i think im just okay doing my thhing whether people follow or not. I keep at it and people that enjoy it start hangin around. As much as i joke about them youtube moneys, i understand that making that a priority takes all the fun away.

Alright go to the fridge and pick up a 2 liter bottle of milk, or maybe a bowling ball or anything heavy.

Hold this out at arms length and spin from left to right.

Now bring the heavy object into your chest and spin left to right.

Which one was easier? I'm sure you've heard the term "mass centralization" before, it ain't no meme, it really does mean the bike will require less effort to turn if the weight is mostly centralized around it's center of rotation.

Undertail exhausts exist because on V-4 and v-twin engines it's one of the easier and most aerodynamic ways to ensure you still have equal length headers on asymmetric exhaust outlet positions (this makes more power)

Inline 4 bikes don't have this problem, the headers are practically by default going to be equal length, so any undertail exhaust on an I4 bike is de-centralizing the mass (putting the milk bottle at arms length) for absolutely no fucking reason other than emulating the style of motoGP and other bikes (namely ducatis) for visual appeal. Luckily bikes have been giving up this fucking stupid development and all have nice neat underbody exhausts now (except for the cbr600rr which hasn't been updated in yonks)

Every modern I4 sportbike does it's just not super obviously apparent.

with euro 4 emissions and the need for catalytic converters and what not, almost all manufacturers aside from oddly enough BMW (who used this layout on the 09-14 S1000RR) use two mufflers, one tucked in the underbody area pioneered by erik buell, and a smaller secondary one in the "normal" old school spot for a muffler to take some more noise out of it.

1994 CBR600 F3 eBay second hand bits edition(TM). The track is fairly tight on most places and you're fairly on the limit of traction even on a 600, bigger bikes can't outpace you much except on a few sections.

>>15886914
Yeah senpai, my buddy on his Z300 on the slow group was having tantrums on the track with the "no passing on corners" rule. People would gun it on literbikes on the straights and pretty much park it on the corners. He almost got black flagged and banned from the next sessions.

you wanna know how tall pro motocross riders with their 38 inch seat heights are?

I'm just saying in terms of absolute best heights to be a rider around there is generally the best, hard enduro and trials are the main exceptions.

Obviously you can be taller and ride just fine, I'm one of them. That's all i was ever talking about, was historically the best height in terms of outright performance.
>>
>>15887295

Yeah I guess I've been focusing on sport and street bikes too much for some reason.

>>
>>15887297
>yeah I knew that bit, what I want to know is, is it like a full day course with the test afterwards?

It depends on howm long your training course is, same as for any other driving/riding test. You could rock up with no training like a moron, you could spend 2 weeks training if you're shit to start with, etc. There's no fixed duration for training.

>And is it supposed to cost a few hundred pounds?

It costs however much the training place charges for however long the course is. The MOD1 and MOD2 prices are fixed, but everything else is up to them.
>>
>>15887297
I think they're more like two full days at a minimum. Off road training and MOD1 test on one and then road practice and MOD2 test on the other. CBT training in there somewhere too.

Hey /o/,

I have a 2000 V-Star 650 that had some issues due to sitting for a couple of years while I was out of the country. I've rejetted the carbs and replaced some dry-rotted hoses, but it was still giving me fits, so I took it to a shop.

They gave me an ominous call yesterday and said that there was an issue with the stator coil and rather than quote me a price and replace it they wanted me to come in on Monday so they could "show me the test results."

What does this mean? Are these guys being dramatic or is there some scenario where they're going to tell me how the stator fucking up is going to lead to an irreparably dead bike? This bike is pretty low mileage and is super comfortable so I was planning on keeping it for a long time.

I failed my car driving test quite a few times so I am really fucking scared of failing Direct Access
>>
>>15887408

I rode to work, it ran fine, wouldn't start. My office is on a hill so I pushed it off and hoped for the best and managed to get it started.

The next morning it started fine, but died at a red light and again had to be pushed off in rush hour traffic, which sucked. I rode home, switched to a car, and took half an hour of pushing it around to get it to start and stay running that weekend so I could get it to the shop.

I used to have a garage at home and be able to work on shit but now I'm in a tiny apartment and I don't want to start tearing down my bike in the parking lot, hence taking it to a mechanic to get ripped off.

tl;dr: Bike won't start electrically (sometimes), dies at low revs.

well the long and short of it, if they said the stator coil is having issues you can get them for about $125 , who knows what thatll be with their markup.
a new ignition coil would be about $50 if its the issue.
and if worst case the cdi is shitting the bed those are about $200

but since oyu had to push it, iis the battery dying when the bike cuts out? if so that points to the stator coil/plug or rectifier

They quoted me $135 for the coil, but didn't say what the labor would be (I'm assuming everything's mostly already disassembled at this point) but I'm wondering what else it is.

>>
>>15887413
There are two ways to do it. You can do a DAS course which tries to get you through everything in a few days. Or you can find an instructor who will basically spread it out for you.

>CBT one day.
>Book you in for your MOD1 a week or so later.
>Give you a couple of two hours lessons before it.
>Book you in for your MOD2 once you pass MOD1.
>Couple of lessons before that.
>Pass your MOD2
Then hey presto you've got your A license.

That's how I did mine anyway. It's a little bit more drawn out but you can obviously fit it in around life a little better. You also have more time to practice the things you learn in the lessons. As opposed to a cram it all in and then do the test kind of thing.

Buying a bike to ride for work.

I think the issue with 125cc would be highway riding, as in they're too weak to do freeway speeds. But if you don't ride on it, 125cc is enough. I ride a 250cc, but I doubt big rig bullying is that bad. I have more issues with cross breezes but they're easy to deal with, just lean against the current.

I spent two days being overtaken by trucks on highways. There isn't really any wind effect from them passing you. Except for fuel tankers, when they merge back infront of you, which seem to kick up a really fucked up wake that blows you from side to side. It's certainly nothing compared to riding on a windy day though.

But yeah, if you're riding somewhere that trucks will pass you just get a bigger bike if you can.
>>

150 would be totally fine for city riding, but for highways or long trips having something bigger would indeed be more comfortable.
some people crossed countries on 125s though, so it's not impossible. and indeed trucks do throw you around, but that's also true on bigger bikes, unless you have a fatass harley or touring bike.

No, but I don't spend much time at high revs unless I'm on the highway.

not unless the oil is already up to temp

I don't really want/need to

a) there's not really any 1000ccm sportbikes for 2500-3000 euros with EFI and less than 30.000 kms around me

b) I don't want to pay 400 euros compared to 170 euros insurance a year

I'm also more leaning towards the Yamaha Fazer, so there's that

and literally anything I'm considering would be an upgrade to my current bike

Visit V-Star forums and get smart about the electrical system. When a stator on anything I own shits I also replace the rectfier/regulator.

http://www.650ccnd.com/mods/kamikaze/replace_stator.htm

They are being thorough because many people bitch about parts.

Take advantage of this! Have them show you how the test the stator so you'll learn how to do it yourself.

If you keep a bike a long time, get the factory service manual. Not Haynes, Clymer or Chilton unless it's so old nothing else exists, and your Yam doesn't have that problem.
