I don't have a lot of experience working on shit (this moped is pretty much the first engine I've taken apart and put back together) but here's something that really fucked me up

>have extra cylinder and piston lying around, decide to do something fun
>get a dremel and convert it from piston port to reed valve
>put it back together, thing fucking flies (relative to a regular moped) and hits 50mph easy.
>only problem is it has trouble starting, on the first few kicks of the day it'll start up easy but if it dies or gets turned off there's no way in hell it'll start again
>pull the plug, it's dark and wet so figure I must be running too rich at start/idle condition
>spend 2 weekends in a row fiddling around and getting the start circuit leaner and leaner, still won't start and plugs still look way too wet and black when I pull them
>post this shit on a moped forum, everyone telling me to make it leaner (which I tried) and one post telling me to try making it richer
>ha as if that'll fucking work
>upjet it and screw the mixture screw out to the richest position despite the plug being black and piratically fucking soaked in fuel on a lower jet

Only used Castrol chain lube (flings everywhere) and Motul. The Motul has been great and has very minimal fling.

Aerosol lube is just really convenient for me, takes about a minute to apply.

I never clean my chain, just apply lube every 2nd tank or so.

What do you guys think about lowsiding/crashing and knee pads? Literally every time I see a crash with a guy wearing jeans or even some mid strength textile pants, the knees are always fucked while the rest of the pant is fine.
