Anyhow, rode about 200km today. Went to the Southern tip of the island and while the ride there was cool, the place itself was pretty meh. Did a 360 and turned around heading to the Northern part of the island. Took every single dirt road I found on the way, found an enormous pile of dirt in the middle of some fields.

Yeah but the suspension is horrible for that though. No travel at all and every minor bump feels like I'm trying to destroy the bike. Can't find many dual sport tires on 100/80 and 130/70 on 17" either.

I pulled a pic because you can only see the bird for like 1/2 a second in the actual video.

I was using a SJCAM SJ4000. It was cheap and works alright for what I use it for but it only shoots 1080p at 30FPS (and the 720p60 mode is fake 60FPS). If I was trying to make some "serious content" then I'd opt for a slightly higher end camera that can at least shoot true 1080p60. I only bought it to mess around with though so a more expensive camera would've just been a waste of money in my case.

Tbh I actually would not recommend this bike. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty nice and comes with some cool electronics but the full package IMO isn't worth the $13k+ price point.

If it was faster, I think I would recommend it. Despite the 800cc displacement, I really had to crank it to 8k to get it moving. Wish it came a bit easier.

Other than that, I am fucking 100% sold on BMW bikes. It's so refined. I can't imagine what a S1000R or RR is like

It's pretty affordable depending on the type of bike you get.

Any BMW is going to average around $160 pre-tax and they come with a mile cap of 300 miles or so (per day rented).

If you get something like an Indian Scout or a generic Harley, you're looking at about $99/day with unlimited miles.

Overall, it was well worth it. No gimmicks, you literally give them the money and they give you a key. Simple as that. I might rent a scout for my last day in Vegas, I don't know yet

I'm not blaming the weed entirely, a lot of it had to do with the crowd that I hung out with while smoking. In college I hung out with a bunch of other losers that really didn't go to class very often and just spent all day smoking pot and occasionally trying out other drugs. Then after I became a dropout I found myself hanging out with another bunch of losers with no ambition or desire to do anything besides work a shitty job at a restaurant, moving company, or low end retail store in order to make just enough money to pay a few bills, put a week's worth of gas in the car, and buy all the weed they could smoke. And I was okay with living like that too for a while but eventually I became pretty disgusted with myself and needed to make some changes to get my life back on track, one of those changes was to just stop smoking weed.

For me, personally, smoking pot is associated with a couple of dark years in my life, so yeah I consider it a bad thing, for me. I know several people who smoked weed all the time and turned out just fine but I also know several other people who still work pizza delivery, retail, or other menial dead-end jobs and really only care about getting stoned as often as they possibly can at age 28+.
