The rides can be kind of fun. When everybody stops to chill it's kind of hard for me because I don't know anyone or like to talk much so I end up just standing by myself looking at bikes. People were pretty nice tho, and I've not got a whole lot else to do so I've gone a few times.

I can still move up and down gears on my bike with the clutch out and the motor not running. Just might need to let the bike move forward or backward a little and it shift up or down.

Are you sure it still isn't a transmission problem?
>>
>>15442535

>>
>>15442707

>>
>>15442720
>>15442727
I'm confident that I didn't fuck it up, I had to pull the transmission to fix a broken shift lever, I pulled the primary sprocket, primary chain, and the clutch and the then transmission. Before remount in the clutch, chain and sprocket I tested the transmission and it shifted fine. I'm sure it's a seized clutch, the adjusting mechanism doesn't compress the clutch, nor does the clutch lever. I've left it sit for a day, I'm gonna try it again tomorrow.

>>
>>15442760
so what actuates the clutch? most of the jap bikes use a single ball between the basket and pushrod, its stupidly easy to lose when taking things apart and will make the clutch useless without it

The clutch is depressed by a rotating plate that is actuated by the clutch cable, adjusting it is basically the same plate but it's position from fully depressed and relaxed is adjusted.

Electric bikes are still 10kg heavier and 10 horsepower less than 4 strokes so its not there yet and i doubt it will be any time soon, batteries are some of the slowest developing technologies.
Use the KTM freeride as an example here, the electric bike is 110kg with 21 horsepower, the 250cc 4 stroke version of the bike is 93kg and 28 horsepower.

the only place electric has managed to do well so far is in pikes peak due to not losing power at altitude.
>>
>>15443083
yeah that's pretty expensive for what it is IMO

enjoying the sound matters, but compared to handling, power, weight, balance, stance, etc. it's pretty low on the list.

They were forgotten about because battery technology doesnt go anywhere, even today electric cars can only do about 100 kilometers where a petrol car can do 1000 on a single tank of fuel.

same reason steam cars stopped being a thing, they were obsolete, seriously reviving electric cars is akin to trying to revive steam cars and claiming they would be better than petrol.

petrol one over a century ago... why would it be worse now...? fuck people are dumb sometimes.
Hydrogen cells are the future, the sooner everyone realises that the better.

Not to mention the fact that the fuel tank on electric cars is worth more than most petrol cars by itself and is only going to last at best 5 years.

Good technology you guys are relying on there.

Electric cars were shit 100 years ago and they are still shit today.

Looking for a little advice on purchasing my second bike. I've been riding for about two years, currently braaping around on a DR650, but I think it's time for something different.

A little about my riding style. I commute to work about 15-20mi a day on highway, I enjoy fun rides around town, hooning a little when I can. Sometimes, I take one to two hour rides to nearby cities to visit friends. Also, I'm 6'3 190lbs, so I'm looking for something that fits my body. I had to do a decent amount of work to the DR650 to fit my body and even then, its a little cramped.

I've been thinking a standard or street fighter type bike. The FZ-09 looks appealing as I heard it has room for taller riders. The FZ-07 could be a possibility too, as well as the Street Triple. I'm not looking for a pure sport bike, cruiser, Dad Adventure Bikes or HD bikes

Does anyone have any ideas?

You must actually retarded to be defending something you know so little about this much.

They only face consequences when people actually vote for hyper-liberals who would ban cars anyways and mandate fucking medieval lifestyles where everyone has to be cloistered around business centers (and the rich have to buy slightly smaller castles and only hire five maids instead of ten)

M8 as much as I hate to say it the answer is probably gonna be an SV650.

Honorable mentions would be FZ-07 or FZ-09, or if you want to get a literpeter I'd recommend a CBR954RR, as it's a fairly forgiving supersport while still being able to turn fast, etc.

nah i have, at least when you get back pains you can stretch, mt-07/fz-07 has the least comfortable seat ever installed on a motorcycle.
the thing is even designed to encourage an upright riding position by lodging itself between your arse cheeks if you try to lean off the side of the bike.

bumps shatter the tail bone.
a 100km ride on that thing has your arse feeling worse than a 500km ride on any other bike.

I dunno why yamaha makes it so hard (The R1 seats are shit too)

The seat formula is pretty simple for a sportbike on the road, doesn't need to be experimented with. Just make it nice and flat, put in some divets for the legs and make sure it's got at least a LITTLE padding.

It's like manufacturers are in a competition to see who can smash my nuts the most with all these gay new seat designs.

I want something that's as far from my drz as possible, i'll still use that on the road for long trips (so something with an upright riding position isn't strictly necessary).

They're alright. Lots of issues out of the factory though. some motovlogger on yt said his broke because the wheel sensor cable was too short out of the factory and snapped when he turned to full lock on the left side, heard stories from a dealership about some guy's F3 having a bad connection to the headlight (though that may also be the owner's being a fuckwit and installing it improperly)

It's an Italian bike. They ride great, they sound amazing, and they're tons of fun. They're just expensive and when they break there's fewer examples out there, which makes finding parts and info more difficult for them. Other than that they're absolutely brilliant.

The F3s feel about as heavy as a dualsport at low speeds, the ergos are great, lower seat height than a Ducati 959, much "comfier" bike, though supposedly the electronics are shit. The F4s are okay but they seem like they've gotten away from what the original design had in mind, which is disappointing.

They're great bikes if you know what you're doing and aren't afraid of working on your shit and doing a bit of extra troubleshooting when something inevitably breaks. They're also very easy to work on in my experience. Wheel swaps were easy, removal of tank, airbox, and fairings was easy, etc. Otherwise stay far away.
