Would /dbt/ ever consider an electric motorcycle or scooter? Have any of us experienced one?
I've seen a couple of electric scooters with vestibule pedals around Melbourne recently, I believe the ones that aren't capable of >25kph are legally classed as bicycles and can thus be ridden without a license.
Personally I don't understand why lithium battery scooters haven't taken more of the general scooter market since they are probably superior in a point A to point B sense.
Electric motorcycles are definitely interesting, obviously useless if you'd like to ride a decent distance away from home but they perform well and sound surprisingly decent.

No, here (Fr) the licence is in two part. The first (hardest one) is on closed roads with cones, you have to show that you can handle a bike properly. And if you pass this (trust that is hard as fuck), you will be call again to have a test drive on the road.

Help me out /dbt/, I'm 18 and buying my first vehicle, it's all pretty good and I have some money saved up and I'm till just working and saving more at the moment.
I have a burning passion for motorcycles, and I want one while I'm going to school at least. I was just offered a car from a friend that's a great deal, $1200 and it needs some work but nothing major, A/C, timing belts and possible few "oil leaks".
But I don't really want it, at all, I understand a car is a more practical and safe idea, I've been driving for 3 years and seen just how easily some people miss cars, let alone motorcycles, etc but I don't need the "danger" lecture.

All I want to know is if you guys think it's doable, if you really would live on bike if you were just going to work and school, not transporting shit around. But rain or shine, working. Can I do it?

The only first hand experience I had with hotels in that area is in Misurina,
the place is beautiful but the hotel I slpet in was a shithole, pic related.
If you manage to get a room in one of the hotels on the shores of the lake you'll probably be fine, I was there in deep high season and couldn't find a room.
