Looking for a new DD, should I consider a 06-08 TSX or an 07-08 TL-S? Average prices I see on the TSX are ~$13k while the cleanest TL-S is about ~$18k.

either one is good. TL is faster than the TSX obviously. You must get it in manual. Although the TL-S auto trans is good. Just change the trans fluid every 30k miles regardless of the trans.

My Prelude made it to PA!

Drove it the 50 miles late last night. The brakes are still messed up (rotor finally broke loose, but something is keeping it from coming off), so I threw new front pads on and squealed my way over the border. Pic related, it's the rotor I drove on (but with less sledgehammer marks).

Now I just need to get my garage in order, and then I can start the disassembly.

No, something is really wrong with it. I actually stretched the threads on that puller in the pic trying to get it off. It looks like the back of the rotor is smaller than the hub somehow, and it wouldn't come off even after I broke it free with a torch and a sledge. It moves maybe an inch or so, then snags. I needed to move the car though, already wasted a day trying to get the rotor off last time (sans torch). Also had to fix a fuel leak that day, because everything is rusted.

>>14946924
I've put about 60k miles on mine. It's a good commuter car, but otherwise terribly boring. I don't think it's worth putting money into it. The wheels I didn't mind getting because I can keep them when I sell the car (hopefully next year).

>>14946989
Not sure yet, but unless the new Type R is really good, probably not a Honda. The Abarth Fiata seems pretty interesting. I also like the 4C a lot, but then I'd probably have to keep my Civic as a winter car.

My commute is going down from 100 miles a day to 20 miles a day, so something more fun would be nice.

How fucked am I? Probably not very, because my OEM suspension is so fucking shot I don't know how I've survived the period between 100k-140k. This shit was somehow cheaper to order new on eBay over OEM suspension parts from Hondapartsdeals after shipping was factored in.

First of all Azenis are not "track tires". Track tires have a treadwear of 60 or less. Streeteable track tires have a treadwear of 80-120. Street tires have a treadwear rating of 140+. Azenis are 200 treadwear. You could probably get 10-15 thousand miles out of those tires. Pic related is the only 14" summer tires I have found. They are all on tirerack.com.

>>14968455
When comparing other cars to an Integra, remember that if it's not specified as a type-R it's probably a GS-R, which can and will mop the floor with almost any stock lude.
LS, RS, and GS have gutless engines, while most trims of the Prelude have decent ones.

>>
>>14968548
My lude has 135hp, and my LS had 127.
I guess I was fucking tripping on their height and width, but my integra definitely seemed way more roomy than my prelude.
I can't even sit in the back of my prelude, my head hits the rear windshield, and I can't even get my feat behind the seat.
I never had that problem with my integra.
I loved my LS but that thing was a like you said, gutless.
My prelude, at least to me, seems to be much quicker, and more fun to drive.

>>14968531

>>
>>14968615
as I said lad, when comparing Integras and Ludes, realize that unless you have a GS-R integra, the lude is likely the better car.
And I wish I could fit in my integra's back seats, as it is I just leave them down all the way so it's easier to clean.

I just wanted info on 4th edition preludes
Is the Si good? Is the only thing available.
What are some things to tune on it to make driving better ?
I dunno, either that or a subaru
>>
>>14968677
Yes 4th gen Si's are good, just stay away from 4ws.
>>
>>14968648
fucks sake, read my post you autismal fuckwad.
RS, LS, and GS integras have gutless engines and almost any trim of lude will be better.
But literally any lude against a GS-R, stock for stock?
I don't even have to benchrace. I own an Integra GS-R and I've owned a Prelude Si, though not a 4WS model.
The Integra gets up and goes much quicker than the Prelude.
The Prelude gets up and goes much quicker than any lower trim of Integra.
How about you actually get off the bench and drive some?

The Si is a good car, but it's not as fast a VTEC or 5th gen in stock trim.

>>14968698
>The Integra gets up and goes much quicker than the Prelude.
>Prelude Si
So is this a joke, or are you actually retarded?
>>
>>14968693
>implying one could accidentally buy a 4ws prelude in the us
>>
>>14968765
Where the fuck did I imply that? I just said to stay away from them.
If he doesn't know shit about preludes, he should at least know to stay away from the 4ws ones.

I wager you could lower a marginal amount without scrapping on everything. An inch is enough to close the gap and not catch on a fucking reflector.

The Integras are much less roomier than a Prelude (assumed best gen verses second and third gen Integra). It's the hatch that does it, otherwise they'd have much similar interior space. The second gen Integra verses the third gen Prelude, the Integra wins interior looks and function. However, the second gen Integra was designed in 1989(different sources say 1988 too) and the third gen Prelude's design was 1986.

Far as performance goes, a third, fourth and fifth gen Prelude would probably get mopped against a DB1 or a DC2. The B18C1 is a great engine.
>>
>>14968754
"Well stock vs. stock h22 Prelude's run low 15 sec with a really good driver with a manual trans. Integra's with b18c's run high 14's with a really good driver and a manual trans.

If all mods are equal then the Integra will always win unless the driver of the Integra is less skilled than the Prelude driver. "

I'll wait for you to find a better answer.

Do you have tips on getting more out of the Si or is my only option to save up for the "right" engine to swap in

It'll just stiffen the ride if you buy stiffer springs and or fully adjustable coilovers. Megan racing makes decent coilovers for Integras, they're around 700-800 for a set for their top shit. I think that's not too bad.

I had Tokico blues I planned on using, however I sold those when I did more research.
>>
>>14968850
my main concern is that I already scrape coming into my driveway and there are three main streets which I have to get in a specific lane to avoid dips that makes my front end bang on the ground. I don't much care for the entire "scrape over everything" vibe, I just wanted my car to look a little more evenly-set.
It's like a girl with a big booty wearing high heels and now you just wish the obnoxious thing would deflate a little, if only so you could get a better view.

hey /hg/

my brother has a 00 EM1 SiR

he completely beats it to shit, and there's multiple things wrong with it.

It's stock besides DC headers and drilled rotors in the front

should i buy it off him, and fix it up?
It's a great and kinda rare car, and i'd love to buy it off him and make it my new daily

opinions on EM1s?

Owner of the 1990 Prelude here.

How do I stop the rust guys. Its beginning to set in.
Obviously new body panels, but would something slow it down in the meantime?
>>
>>14968796
Turbo is probably best. You can stick an H22 head on it and make power that way too, but a full H22 swap would probably be easier.
>>
>>14968905
Cut it off, or grind it back and bondoglass it. Paint over the rust when the second option is completed. It's hoopty shit, but it works lol

New panels are easy to find for it, I planned on doing that with mine. The Integra I have is a bitch to find panels for though.
>>
>>14968905
>>14968905
Where is it rusting? I have some fender rust because I never removed the wheel well liners. You can try painting it with rust converter, but that won't last very long.

I'm going to let a bodyshop weld new metal in once I get the mechanical stuff in order.

How much would a decent dependable turbo on the h23a1 cost?
Is the H22 still the go to swap after all these years? Wow.
I'm crushing on preludes right now because of

Best engine I've still found is the F20B instead of the H22 and H23. Basically a destroked H22 without FRM, plus it makes similar power.
>>
>>14969003
I was under the impression dropping an f20b into a prelude was much more intensive than an h23.
H23s have the same harness and mounts and most other parts will bolt right up, whereas the f20b requires a bunch of different stuff, or am I wrong?
>>
>>14969038
i think you mean H22?
>>
>>14969044
Fuck, yeah my bad.
Doesn't an f20b and h22 both make around 197hp?
Also. How hard is an h23 swap over an h22 swap?
>>
>>14969077
im not sold on f20b swap
How much can you eke out with it compared to the H22? With the 22 you already have Jun science to work off of

i didn't say track-only tires, but ok. they're definitely not what i'm looking for though.

It's a destroked H22 without FRM and is originally OBD2. Sounds like people just use H22 components for OBD1.

People have done turbo builds with this engine in the third gen, this one is a popular one.

No FRM is probably the best part. Iron sleeves and I believe the F20B has a steel crank to boot.

I still had mine when I saw this one, love it.

I really shouldn't want this, especially when there are so many better options that are probably more reputable and offer way better driving experiences and performance.
And it's going to be my first and only put car for a long time.
But I guess I just like looking at it and the dream builds in my head

Dead Accord Bro here.

Setting up for my Turbo build. Have pretty much everything I need. Got I was going to use a 1st Gen DSM turbo manifold, and modify, but all the ones on the used parts market that are cheap, have cracks etc. I bought a cast one off ebay for like $80. Not bad.

My CV axle boots ripped, and timing belt is due for maintenance, Leaks oil terribly, and the clutch is worn. All that is going to be replaced(New clutch for the power I'm expected to make...")

I'm worried about the turbo I have being too small. (12g), I think a 16g, or 20g would be better suited for this application, but the price was right.

The only big things I think of that I need, are ECU, and a Wideband, and oil lines. Im going to have the oil lines, and get the bung from a local shop, that custom makes hoses etc.(Fairly cheap, and hopefully I won't have to fuck with ordering all the fittings that I have no idea how to deal with)

Pic related. New clutch

I was thinking around 8psi. Nothing more. I'm not going for extreme reliability. Just want something to last 6 months or so when I get the money together to do a proper build with a proper forged bottom end and a bigger cam.
>>
>>14969605
