Never played any GTs after 4. Swapped to Xbox after my PS2, and that meant switching to Forza. I always preffered gt4, though - there was much more of a sense of progression, somehow, whereas Forza always felt more like an arse-abut-with-a-wide-selection-of-cars simulator. Not that there isn't a place for that, mark you.

I beat GT6 recently, after I got a modded PS3 for cheap.
It does not have anything on pre-PS3 Gran Turismos. It was short, It was easy. I literally got every gold. I can not do this on any other GT.

So I just installed ePSXe on my phone and got GT2 Running again on my phone.

I don't even know what the NA soundtrack sounds like, apparently it's longer, but the PAL soundtrack is pretty damn great.

Enthusia was better than GT4 because it had oversteer, where GT4 was an understeer simulator. But GT3 was by far my favorite.
GT3 also had way better physics for drifting than gt4. I wasn't into cars yet for #1 and #2 so never tried them

Kinda. Not really as in depth as some of the later ones, but some classics are there (fwd/rwd only, horsepower restricted races, etc.) Some give out prize cars, too. The best part is probably doing some random easy race and recieving a 1200hp drag car as a reward randomly.

Yes, there are career races where you can earn price cars. However even though most of them are themed, the only restrictions are horsepower and sometimes drivetrain layout, so in order to keep with the theme of the races it takes some self discipline. It's not going to tell you that your Silvia isn't a muscle car. The only exceptions are manufacturer races which are restricted to a few models each time.

How cunting GT2 STILL has the best physics out of the entire series.

The shit car sounds were excusable because it was on PS1 and it was actually challenging.

Meaning, GT6 is a boring heap of GT5.5 shit where a Ford GT sounds like a fucking vacuum.
