Batteries are just unreliable for pedals, and a lot of times just fuck with the sound of the pedal. It's not good, especially when power adapters are so cheap.

Sorry for being an ignorant fag, but what's the purpose of routing controllers like the Arc-3? Why not just actually use the switches on the pedals instead. Do you set presets on it like if I stomp on this switch pedals 1,2, and 6 will be in use. And if I stomp on this one pedals 2,3, and 4 are on. Or is it something else?

This is how you write any song.
Find a coldplay song, use the exact same chord progression, just in reverse. Maybe use a chord progression from a Gucci Mane song if you wanna get all experimental and shit. Just drown it in effects to the point where no actual chords are discernible, it's just a disgusting wall of sound. Layer 909 patterns in there, along with a cheap casio keyboard sound. And then scrap all of it just to do some basic ass fuckery with that chord progression, and sample some strings from a Sinatra song for the background.
For the lyrics, find some random foreign music shit. Doesn't matter what it is, helps if you like it though. Base your lyrics off of what you think they're saying, and run from there. Pretty soon you'll have some music.

Get that acoustic fixed dude, old SS amps are on the up and up these days, especially between Sunn and Peavey. Been trying to find myself on of the harder to find super Festival series amps for a while that Jesse from Death From Above 1979 uses, but they are getting stupid rare. Luckily I was able to find of these in stead, and equally stupid rare 500 series Vulcan Head. Its currently in Meridian, MI getting restored by a dude I know who works for peavey and love their vintage amps.
>>
>>73072870

>>
>>73072870

I need to find a place to get it serviced, I don't trust places here cause they take years to fix anything.

I saw a Peavey Mark III the other day round here, should've bought it...
>>
>>73072870
Considering there are only 15 other ones known to still exist I'd say thats pretty damn rare. Price wise yeah its still fairly cheaper than most new tube amps because Peavey, but 2 other Vulcans are being sold online for ridiculous asking prices above $800, which is kinda crazy
>>
>>73072923
Peavey are built like tanks and can take a beating for years. I have a budy of mine out in Iowa who is a huge vintage Peavey collector and has the rarest Peavey ever built, including a 1-off prototype of a 400 watt all tube bass head called the VTA-800. Pic related he owns all the heads in this picture, most hand wired by Hartley Peavey Himself
>>
>>73072870
Is that your Chroma?
>>
>>73072972

I don't have enough disposable income to hunt amps... plus living in the third world makes it even harder. I'd just go with a Marshall Super Bass through an Orange 4x10+1x15 if I had the money for it.

Its my Rhodes Chroma Poly Synth I bought from a former member of Steely Dan, and I got it insanely cheap to cause he was friend of a family friend that I helped move some stuff out of his old house in PA. Came with a road case to but the foam was all rotted. Also its non-functioning atm because the power supply went bad like on most chromas, currenlty trying to get that fixed. It'll be rad once its working again
>>
>>73072370
How many times have you been punched in the face for running your stupid mouth?
Or do you only do it behind the safety of anonymity?
>>
>>73073009
I'm actually looking to trade my Sound City for a Super Bass, that's one of my dream amps. And most of the stuff I got was based on sheer luck and good online deals, but of course this was over a period of 2-3 years.
>>
Why are these guitar generals always frequented by that bitchy nancy-boy who thinks people on the internet are impressed that he can blow loads of money on gear because he is financially supported by his parents?
>>
>>73071737
Think of it this way, its a master controller that pretty much decides what pedals are on between your guitar and your amp depending on how you set up the presets. Its a loop switching system. You basically leave all your pedals on and have them patched up to this device using the built in send/return loops. This is so you can hit one button and turn on and off multiple fx at the same time instead of having to tap dance your way around a pedal board. Most of the big guitar players these days utilize them in one way or another for they're live rigs, and they also usually have a guitar tech with a second controller back stage in case he needs to change the fx during a song while the guitar player runs about on the stage doing solos and what not. Of course systems like these aren't cheap and require a lot of planning
>>

Let's try this again ... if anyone in driving distance of Stockport wants a free Sound City B120 amp head then let me know because this fucking thing's just taking up space here and I can't be arsed with all the dickchew of putting it onebay.
>>
>>73073155
You can def get it intonated, but just making the bridge flush won't fix the whole problem, you have to move the saddles back and forth until the 12th fret octaves are in tune with the open string octave, pulling them in makes it flat, pushing them out towards the fretboard makes them sharp
>>
>>73073185

>>
>>73073283
I use an EQD Avalanche run thats pretty dope, big brother to the dispatch master. Also Like the TC Alter Ego x4 cause the tape delay sounds are great. >>
>>73073273
Sound City amps have a tone all of their own, it's very distinct from a Marshall or Fender. Clean headroom all the way and easily the best designed power amp ever put in a guitar amp. Playing one at volume produces the sensation of being kicked repeatedly in the chest. Not for the faint hearted.

>reverb pedal

you realize all this does is echo, right? That's literally like 5 clicks in any DAW and you're done. BAM, easy, no pedal required. And if you're one of those autists who wants to play live I'm sure you can rig your PA to have multiple layers play at once, or just play inside a tunnel or something

Friendly reminder:

Playing guitar in 2017 is the equivalent of idolizing Lawrence Welk and playing polka on an accordion when Jimi Hendrix was innovating and tearing shit up at Woodstock in 1969.

Have a nice day.

This would be accurate, if in 1969 accordion was still part of some of the most popular and successful records. Nice try though.

Two very different amps. EL84 in the AC Vs. 6l6 in the Deville. The 6L6 has more headroom and does not break up as quickly as the EL84. These tubes tend to put out a much brighter tone with more top-end. The EL 84's break up a lot sooner. The Deville also has twice the wattage. Keep in mind unless you can crank the Deville you'll probably not notice the difference. If you you use pedals for dist/overdrive you'll probably benefit from the headroom.
If you want break up, the AC.

the amp is small and will sound tinny and you most definitely wont be happy playing with those tones. Guitar might be passable, but for 200 the build quality is gonna be shite and youll just end up getting a new one later.

I just dont get the concept of buying shitty gear to start off with when you'll just be unsatisfied with it in a year and buy new stuff, or even worse it will not be as enjoyable to learn to play with bad gear and you might end up just dropping the hobby alltogether. If you just save up say 500-600 bucks you could be set for years to come.

If you're buying a guitar so you can have a guitar in the corner of your bedroom then go ahead, you'll be bored of it within a month and you won't have wasted too much money.

If you actually want to learn to play and you're not going to give up then save your money until you can afford at the very least a Squier Vintage Modified and ideally a Squier Classic Vibe.

Gibson headstocks only break when short players use nylon straps; the neck dives and hits the floor. If you're tall it's less of an issue, if you use a leather strap it's no issue at all because it prevents neck dive entirely.

I've tried some other comp, not boss, something no name, and I didn't like it as much, the sound was too different, with Koji it is almost the same, it's legit extremely hard to tell by the timbre alone, if you are only listening to it.

If the amp has a gain stage I dial in a little bit of that.

I wanted to do the J Mascis clean amp -> bunch of overdrive/fuzz boxes stacked thing but I don't own a proper guitar amp or proper overdrive pedal so the Rat is on most of the time.

I do love stacking the Fuzz E. Cat or Big Muff on top of it.

>>
>>73072156
honestly not that different, dont listen to these faggots, i played a mij HH jaguar for a long time, and having come from gibsons it wasnt that drastic of a change, you will need thicker strings tho
>>
/gg/ i need help, i just won this 2005 gibson v for a fantastic price on ebay, but after a quick look online i cant seem to find any 2005 ebony gibson flying v's, in the pic ive attached it seems like theres white underneath the black, has it been refinished??
>>
>>73078770
People misunderstand modeling combo amps. They're not really meant for playing live or in the studio; they're meant for the bedroom and for practice.

However, companies are trying to change this with higher power offerings that can be used on stage. 15W of tube power is plenty loud for a small or medium stage and probably too much at higher volumes at home. I have 6W VHT tube combo amps in my shop that rattle the windows over halfway up for comparison.

Modeling effects have gotten infinitely better with time and are continuing to be improved. Are they great though? Use your ear. What are YOU looking for? If you're looking for a Fender tube amp, get something non-modeling and get some pedals. If you're looking for a convenience in tones to choose from, that amp should be OK.

More stuff to fail on it though whenever effects like that are involved.

Why does /gg/ ignore classical guitar?
Good classical guitarists are among the most skilled players in all of the genres that include guitar and the music they play is enjoyable, but they get next to no atention in these threads.

The 67 reissues come in that color. The finish underneath could just be the sealer/primer coat. something about the serial does look suspicious though.

Post more pics

I got myself an old peavey musician 300 series and i can get a near perfect dfa 1979 sound with a chorus pedal and the built in fuzz. I also have an acoustic 450 but i actually like the old peavey better. It has two channels and sounds great with guitar

Had to get it repaired twice though. Definitely worth it.

Example of factory refinishing.

Just look for relics made around the same time period Gibson. See if black guitars have white underneath. Pro tip: l don't see any. So plus 1 for a refinish.

there is a somewhat considerable volume drop but I don't consider it much of a problem, if I have it on reverse I have it around 75% wet and I just turn up the volume on my amp to compensate, I don't switch between clean and this when I'm playing. If I use other reverbs I barely stray beyond 50%

I just bought a Boss XT-2 and a Boss PW-2 for $45 a pop on reverb
