Are those alumitone pickups?
>>
>>72471797
I think so. I've heard good things about them but haven't ever tried them
>>
>>72471357
I tried using the ASIO driver but I just get a bunch of error messages.
Also sometimes when I unplug the usb cable I get a bluescreen. This thing is a piece of crap.
>>
>>72472394
if you can't use the ASIO driver then you're going to get shitloads of latency

>>
>>72473353

I bet they will , Horse Lords and now these guys have released highly acclaimed albums using them. Horse Lords aren't a meme but King Gizzard has that shitty type of fanbase like Mac Demarco's that copies anything they do.
>>
>>72473353
It's not.
After King Gizz are done with it you will never hear about microtonals again
Equiment is expensive though so its unlikely for this kind of bands to get into it unless they are expecting to make more than a album with that.

I do not recommend Fender's stuff in current year, maybe check out G&L and other copies, some of them are pretty nice between 1000 to 1500 bucks
>>
>>72475483
Generally like metal/ Black metal/ punk type stuff. Looking for cheaper end (~$100-200 or even less) and I live in an apartment with a roomate.
>>
>>72475555
Everything in that price range is equally shit. Just buy whatever appeals to you based on looks really.
>>
>>72475555
that is pretty tough desu, you could check craiglist and shieet and try to grab whatever you can get. around 300 bucks you can get some playable shit which would not probably damage your future playing or interest.

200 bucks are not really satisfying imo, you can go to reverb.com and find some stuffs like used warwick, you still need more cash to get something like amps and shieet
>>
>>72475555
in that case it doesn't matter, buy fucking anything

stretch elastic bands across a penut butter jar and stick it through a distortion pedal, it'll make no difference to the shitty noise you make
>>
>>72475555
Wasted quads

Get a 5 string if you like metal. They have more uses than metal, but it'll keep you from having to detune your bass to hit the low notes. I only use my 5 string these days, even if I'm playing music where the extra low notes don't get utilized.
>>
>>72473460
Why would you need new equipment to play microtonal music? All you have to do is bend the string a little or press a little harder on the fret and bam, quarter sharps/flats everywhere.
>>
>>72475596
>>72475627
>>72475641
Yeah was thinking buying used to help get it cheaper, but thank you, its definitely something to consider. I'll be paying a visit to my local music shop tomorrow to see what they can show in person.

>>72475653
Oh yes five strings didn't even realize I could do that thank you. You saved me some extra tuning time.
>>
>>72475863
you probably have to save some cash to get an amp or something
>>
>>72475834
Because you won't be able to strike the note with the same attack, you'll always have to bend to get a quarter tone. You can easily play microtonal music on a fretless guitar though.

>>

A fretless would be hard to chord, but certainly better in that manner. I could also see abusing a floyd rose floating bridge, simply holding it in place. You could even do it for both quarter sharp and quarter flats.

Polish the edge with fine (>1000 grade) wet and dry after you shape them, and then before and after you play.

I'm guessing you have trouble with up picking. Simply practice up picking by itself, it's really no harder than down picking. Then mix down and up picks together slowly.

Bugera 333XL212 Combo Valve amp, it's 120w, 2x12'', pretty cheap too. Mostly looking for a huge clean tone that I can boost into saturation with a pedal like an MXR Micro Amp and use a big muff with. >>
>>72480848
on most tube amps, using a high gain channel is basically the same as overdriving the clean channel. footswitch
>>
>>72480896
No it isn't. Drive channels usually have more gain stages, different tone shaping caps, different levels of NFB, the tone stack may be placed at the end of the chain rather than after the first amplification stage, there may well be a DC-coupled cathode follower.

So quit talking out of your gaping anus
>>
>>72480600
They sound pretty good, better than they should for the cost. You get the 333 for the drive and boosted drive channels not the clean so much. 1960s are the better platform if you want a clean to pedal into (more durable to boot).

Not all of them survive, it's a bugera after all. infinium sucks balls. the pots are plastic.

>>
>>72479721
Put stuff together. All depends what you're going for. Generally songs are written within keys. Sometimes the person that strings it together doesn't realize it, they just play things that sound pleasing to them. Sometimes keys are disregarded all together, generally for very dissonant music, but a lot of times even then the writer either unintentionally creates their own key or it fits into some obscure key(i once had a book with about 1000 different scales, and most of them were disonnant to my ear).

The most useful skill would probably be relative pitch, that will make it a lot easier to hear something in your head and play it. Knowing the way scales sound helps too, helps develop relative pitch and will give you a framework in your head of what notes will be utiliized in whatever section you're writing.

Learn your intervals, you can use them everywhere. Improvised harmony and using chord partials in a solo are 2 other things that will come from mastering intervals.

I'm designing and building a guitar from scratch. It's a combination of a jazzmaster and Rickenbacker shapes. I'll try to upload pictures, but does anyone know a place to buy set-in necks? Also I want it to have the jazzmaster trem system and use it as much as possible - and I don't want to spend all the money on a master bridge. I was looking at the warmoth modified mustang bridge, does anybody know the best bridge for jazzmaster trem use? Sorry for the long post, but this is something im really excited about and I want to get as many opinions as I can.

More than likely you'll need to get a neck ordered custom. Most guitars with set necks have a break angle, and if that angle is off it won't work or will work very poorly depending on direction. I'm sure you can use a set neck without one as long as the fretboard is high enough, but there's not a large market. You may be able to find someone doing them as replacement for gibson necks, but that wont work with your bridge if you built it parallel to the body.

The only real markets for premade parts like this are necks that conform to fender pocket sizes, and neck thru blanks. There are others out there.

I can actually never remember seeing a single set neck for sale that wasn't in a kit.

i want to record guitar DI'd to amplitube but the headphone amplitube monitoring isnt inspiring

how to double the guitar output so i get one signal to the pc and other to the real amp for monitoring

or, not using the real amp
just plugging to the pc
and getting the DAW to send the guitar track to a separate output so i can plug it to my home theater sound system and have loud guitar monitoring
and the rest of the track goes to the regular computer speakers
this would require an external interface or soundcard for the dual output, right?

>>
The problem with Amplitude and Guitar Rig is they encourage people to think that they can sit there and twiddle around with a fuckload of knobs and presets and somehow a great guitar sound will emerge. It doesn't, you get the same buzzy over-effected mess that amp sims always produce. They impress you for a while with their tricky FX chains then you slowly realize the basic guitar sound is shitty. Then you learn to stick a microphone in front of a decent tube amp and add a few effects in the mix. Because that's how you get a good guitar sound.

You stupid cunt. Single ended amps are by definition running with a Class A output stage. The output tubes are conducting for the full cycle of the input wave. Class B and AB by definition are push-pull output stages that cancel even harmonics and produce some crossover distorion. Class A has a far flatter frequency response than a Class B or AB output stage.

I mainly play Blues and finally reaching that stage after all these years of half-assed practice where my soloing is becoming instinctive and my vibrato/touch is good. Early Clapton heavy influence on my playing and technique

the age old question. sometimes i can't tell the difference and that's mostly due to how it's wired, with different value components and different features
i like the fuzzrite since it sounds to me like what a fuzz pedal should sound like
imo, the german has a low end to it that keeps it tight
silicon seems to be jangly and sometimes too bright that makes it sound loose, like white noise

Any tips for learning how to play and sing at the same time?

I'm having issues coordinating. I'll be doing fine and then the vocal melody will change and my guitar strumming will go off beat.

Help

not really no

Stop strumming when the vocal gets complicated or change to a simple on-beat strum
Or practice the strumming more so you dont have to think about it while singing

Jerk 2 guys off at the same time with different rhythms

After you feel comfortable and the 3rd guy put it in your mouth

Your reading comprehension is atrocious.

thats what is happening, your guitar sound cheap and thin and you cant make it sound good with amplitube
>>
>>72485989
>cant make it sound good with amplitube
Finally, we're in agreement. You can't make a guitar sound good with amplitube.
>>
>>72486037
i can. you can't.
my guitars arent thin sounding to begin with. yours are, thats why you get thin sounds with amplitube.

This post is a good example of someone else getting a horrible guitar sound, it's not just me apparently
