https://reverb.com/item/4535241-1969-sunn-2000s-terrible-poetry

i spent my senior year in high school as an "intern" in a local guitar shop. One day one of the regulars brought one of these things in. He had it for years and never touched it, but wanted it fixed up and in playing shape, as his band had been chosen to play a local fair and he didn't have any equipment that could do the part other than this, and didn't really have the money to buy/rent one on his own.

The owner of the shop got it up and running after a few hours and i got to "test it out" to make sure it was in working condition, and i immediately fell in love. I've been looking around and all the working ones i can find usually run at least $1k or more, if i can find one at all.

one day i'll have the money to blow on one, and it'll be the best day of my life.

>Fender Japan, Ltd. was the joint-venture between Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, Kanda Shokai (神田商会?) and Yamano Gakki (山野楽器?), which operated the Japanese business of Fender musical instruments from 1982 to 2015.

>The Japanese-made Fender guitars sold by Fender Music Corporation (Japan) have since been categorized as the "Japan Exclusive" series

why the fuck does Fender do this with all of their models? Even within the same model (American Standard, for example), Fender goes with AT LEAST THREE separate finishes for the same maple neck.

This pisses me off because I have a Fender American Strat with a neck that looks like that third guitar: light and plastic-looking when all I've wanted is a neck with a darker finish similar to the first or second guitars

WHY THE FUCK DO THEY DO THIS REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Alot of people use the Orange 4x12, but I don't like the way it gels with it. Sounds too harsh and brittle to me compared to being paired up with the Mesa Recto 4x12.

Okay I will say that.
I play most of the time with reverb and occasionally with a mild tremolo to keep me on beat, but it sounds great without effects too.
I lost all of my old pedals; left them at friends houses around town and then fell out of touch. Kind of want to get a fuzz but I love how the amp sounds on its own.

I think it's because a lot of people like to trade out gear eventually to get more gear, and if you play for a while, you're not going to get anything grand from your cheap off brand stuff.

If you've played a Peavey 5150 or 6505+ before, it obviously sounds very similar, but it's not as...raw? sounding I guess.

Either way, $600 is great if it's in good condition and hasn't been abused. As always, try before you buy.

Tone flows upwards. It's why a properly designed single pickup guitar has the one pickup in the bridge position. Because it's been left hollow on the inside, the tone still has room to travel along with the porous body. When a person removes the pickups themselves it's crucial to leave space so it can breathe.

Is there a difference in tone or sustain between a wraparound tuneomatic bridge and a tuneomatic with tailpiece but stringed topwrapped?
Both will have less tension than a bridge+tailpiece stringed the regular way and the resulting slinky feel and sound. So the playability is the same.
But the topwrapped tailpiece one will have the more string length, and will have the tailpiece sitting tight to the wood, giving more vibration transfer to the body

>inb4 dont topwrap just raise the tailpiece
Topwrapping creates for more string lenght in contact with the tailpiece and there is less tailpiece screw lenght to lose vibrations on
>>
>>71760715
if your strings are vibrating above the nut or behind the bridge, your guitar isn't working properly

there is no transformation of vibrations. put your fucking finger on the string between the bridge and tailpeice and pluck the string normally. see? it doesn't affect the sound.

why are guitarists so fucking stupid
>>
>>71760715
>worrying about this minute shit instead of worrying about your sloppy technique

Hey guys, is there a difference in tone if I take the pickguard off? What about if I leave the screw holes it leaves filled or unfilled?

I love the ease of adjusting a TOM bridge. Wraparounds are a pain in the arse. The non-adjustable ones usually compromise intonation, and the adjustable ones can rattle or have other limitations. I do like the sound of wraparounds though.

Though my two favorite guitars have wraparounds, if I had the choice I'd go with a TOM bridge.

>>
>>71762094
No problem. You don't necessarily need a whole new bridge to stop your string breaks though, you probably just need the slots in your saddles cleaned up. You probably have a burr causing the breaks.
>>
>>71762334
I took it to my luthier once, he sanded it with a tool and put some graphite over it. It was fixed for a couple of months, then it started to break strings on the bridge again, i checked and the saddle got spongy just the same.

>>71760788
Then why a Tele with a topload bridge and its shorter string length feels slinkier than a regular Tele bridge
>>
>>71762481
GFS makes a cool adjustable spacing brass bridge. Hopefully will hold up better.
>>
>>71762534
Do you have a GFS part yourself? The steel strat tremolo i bought turned out to be plated iron
>>
>>71762481
You can take an old string and "sand" it out yourself. If it's only happening on wound strings you probably have a slight indentation in the slot that's built up. Take an old string and run it through the slot a few times to clean the indentation out. Don't go crazy though because this can fuck up your radius at the bridge.

>>
>>71761765
Fucking this. And there are enough of those autists even to this day that their consumer demands are enough to force guitar manufacturers to keep building shitty guitars with objectively outdated parts. Technological progress has been relatively stagnant and it's plagued the guitar industry for decades.

Any time a mainstream guitar company tries to venture into anything remotely new and unique those autists will shit on them to no end, and the companies that know better and aren't afraid to do so sadly get left behind in the dust.
>>
>>71762743
Its happening on all strings. I tried sanding it with a thin sandpaper and after with an old string. Also tried with just a old string. Sanded both to the sides and in the direction of the strings.
Also fixed for only a few months.
Roller saddles will get rid of it forever.

I hate to say it.. but you can't polish a turd. I did the same thing myself with an Epi SG and some Seymours.

$200-$300 guitars are that price for a reason. Changing a bridge or a nut won't make a big enough difference. You might get lucky changing the pots, jack and pickups but you can quickly end up spending far too much on a guitar that still has a shitty neck and a poor body finish.

IMO Just buy a used US Strat or Tele - there's a fuckload of those around, the fretting is always excellent, the pickups are properly wound, the pots, jack, switches and tuners are decent and so is the bridge.

I wouldn't buy any guitar without playing it. Probably not what you want to hear but it's the truth. It could have dead spots all over the neck from worn down frets and you would have no idea.

Could I get some feedback on my recording quality?

Sounds like a laptop mic

Need a picture of the headstock. It's obviously an Ibanez RG of some sort though.

>the irony of saying that and posting H&K

the real meme is buying a high gain amp for its sound when high gain stuff is so fucking stupid easy to get right in the first place. Diezel should jsut sell pedal preamps of all their models, their amps are pointless now. you can either model every high gain amp to a T, or you can get the floor version of it for 1/8th the price

My lead guitar player bailed on me to go get stoned and told me to just write it on my own
I've never written for lead guitar before and I have to have something by tonight
What the fuck do I do
>>
>>71758445
having a useable neck pickup and a bridge that isn't a piece of shit is definitely diarrhea, yea

Dont do it. Dont let that cunt be a cunt.

How hard are you going to cry about it, /gg/?

i fucking answered this last thread you mong

there is no reason to top wrap when you can raise your tailpiece, and there's no reason to keep your tailpiece slammed to the bottom of its screws

He's not even here. I'm here with all the recording equipment and he won't be back for another half hour if he shows up at all.

>>71767915
Dude I fucking wish but there is literally no way he's going to do it. I would tell him to fuck off but I don't have anybody to replace him with. Sucks but I have to come up with something somehow.
>>
>>71767888
Kick him out of the band
In the meantime just create a really simple melody to fill the empty space and change it when you find someone to fill his spot

Can I have a peek

I don't care. not my money and preferences

that's why you use rollers instead of the shitty tom bridges every company shills

all TOM bridges do is put undue stress on your strings with what is basically a knife blade's edge on their saddles, why fuck with that when you can get rollers

Plus we have a show coming up too. I can't fucking believe this.

glad you like it but their character series sansamps sound a lot better

then when you're looking for a better tone, and not a character specific one, darkglass sounds much better

>12 year old

The real tragedy here is that I'm 30 and arguing on a korean basket weaving forum at an ungodly hour.

Recent acquisitions include:
Demeter Tremulator
Fender 68 DRRI

Bear in mind that I've probably not bought anything new pedal-wise for five years other than the Tremulator? Amp replaced a JCM 900 (pictured).

My stuff is currently in its cases but here's an older pic, still have a Wiggler, Zvex Fuzz Factory and Woolly Mammoth (clone) lying around somewhere.Too many pedals though, the current draw was so high that the POG and the TZ kept cutting out.

I don't really understand how you arrived at your problem. Why do you end up with a one day deadline for writing part of a song?

I have a USA Strat Plus with lace sensors. Best pickups IMO.
You like Billy Corgan?
