What's your favorite album of theirs right now? And what are some of your favorite songs of theirs right now?
Personally I think I'd have to go with Feels right now. Banshee Beat is probably my favorite song of theirs and seeing Loch Raven live was unreal. But Merriweather holds a place in my heart, along with Sung Tongs, Spirit, and Strawberry Jam. I recently listened to Here Comes The Indian for the first time and I actually really enjoyed it. Same thing with Centipede Hz. Their new album is not my cup of tea, but seeing it live was still really cool.
rip /anco/ though

>tfw saw these guys over the weekend
It was a fucking great show
Feels has been my favorite as of recent too!! It's always been Spirit, but lately Bees in particular has really been getting to me.. and Loch Raven live was probably one of the most transcendental experiences I've had in a while; certainly all year..
I thought, upon the first few listens, that Painting With... was kind of weak but it's found a place in my heart thru relistens, it's admittedly a sound that I hope they don't necessarily continue on with - but I think it's one that's meant to be experienced live.. The bounciness and the fun of the songs become VERY contagious when the whole room is grooving along, especially with the very pinkly tinged lights that they had flaring around.
As for favorite songs of theirs right now: Bees, as I'd mentioned earlier, has really become a staple of my shower listening.. such a peaceful song.. and I'd never realized how AMAZING Mouth Wooed Her is until recently.. but WOW what a wonderful, ticklish song.
How do I write an album like Pet Sounds? How do I get the fucking melodies out of my head?
According to briwi, the melodies come out of your chest, not your head.
The problem for me is that I never 100% implement what I want to do.(It doesn't help that I have a horrible memory either)
I guess the best thing to do is to imitate the messages as much as possible. How that can happen is hard to describe

Like just singing?
I'm certain that's the absolute 100% reason I cannot write a decent song to save my life. I live with so many people I've never been comfortable with writing a song above a whisper and I can't sing well to begin with so I'm essentially writing with a tone-deaf instrument I can barely hear.
The few moments I've had to actually sing out loud and with my chest I can feel that immediate change in mental state. The notes stick out and are so clear. But it's so frustrating wanting to write but not being able to. I was reading up on how he thought of songs as feels and little things you reach out and grab and turn into something and that's exactly how I feel.
;_;
holy shit this sucks
it's pretty overrated. i wouldn't give it more than like a 6

Seriously, what the FUCK is this song about?

Of course it's up to your own interpretation, but I always thought it was a metaphor for the cycle of confusion and fear older generations have for the newer.

Pleb status: confirmed
Spin's Simon Reynolds criticised the album as "unimpressive" and "trapped by [its] potential for infinitesimal tweakage"[13] and Pat Blashill of Rolling Stone called it his "most irrelevant album to date".[11] Later, though, the New Rolling Stone Album Guide in 2004 declaimed that "weirdly dismissed by many, Drukqs is often spectacular".[12] At Metacritic, which assigns a normalised rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album has received an average score of 66, based on 21 reviews.[3]
