I'm looking for some first wave post-rock, artists like Tortoise, Stereolab, Gastr del Sol and weird stuff like that from the early 90's.. Can /mu/ recommend me some?
I'm not that interested in the cresdenco-driven stuff that came later.

They release music so frequently (5 albums in 4 years) that I really question the thought that went into any of it. GP and TPTB are both filler, the only meaningful albums they ever put out were TMS, NLDW (maybe half filler anyway), and BP.
They need to slow down, get an ideas->demos->final songs->final tracklisting workflow. It really seems like they go ideas->final tracklisting and it cheapens the music immensely. Maybe go with the second girl-dying-in-car-crash sample you find instead of the first one? Smh
