What's /mu/'s opinion on Lo-fi Hip Hop?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbGoW-L_zwk
Sounds rather gimmicky, the best lo-fi artists adopted the aesthetic out of necessity rather than as an artistic choice
>>69973262
You think they've been following the anime trend after nujabes? Personally, I like the sampled hip-hop. I can't stand an MC rapping over the production.
Just admit you want more Nujabes already, Anon. I'm here to help.

What do you guys normally do when listening to new music?
If you don't sit down with noise cancelling headphones on, and just take it all in, you're a pleb.

>The greatest album of all time was released on March 23, 2004
no you're wrong
False. It was released on January 6th, 2004.
No. It wasn't.
So now that the dust has settled what is the verdict on this? For me it's AOTY, masterful conclusion to one of the great artists of the history of music. I don't even think it's special because he's dead, It feels like a final album even if bowie lived.
Why /mu/ hate this album now?
Also say what is your favorite Bowie album pls anon
>>69972171
i dont like it because its just not my cup of tea. i could pick out some bs buzzwords to explain why, but i don't want to. its just not an album i enjoyed listening to.
Bowie died of cancer in january 2016.
4/10

Fuck Scaruffi pretentious douchebag
Anyone else felt like High Fidelity basically portrays /mu/? I just needed Jack Black to say "pleb" or something and it would have been perfect.
Also, recommend movies about music and movies people in this board will probably like.
Bouncing this thread with a couple other movies I like, starting with Frank - a newer one which I have grown to absolutely love.

Is Beware is one of their best songs? Best lyrics in their whole discography imo.
>>69971920
I think it seemed very much like a mission statement at the time, it was like their calling card. By the time even The Money Store had ran its course, though, they had actually staked a claim as a hyper-aggressive, blown-out, sort of post-technology noise hip hop outfit.
It seemed really hard to categorize them during the roller-coaster that led to Jenny Death, but now that they're past that, I feel like they actually have a reasonably defined sound throughout their existing discography.
Of course, hindsight is 20/20. Personally I'm a sucker for a lot of the lyrics on Niggas on the Moon. Stefan's mix of mysterious autobiographical wailing combined with an out-of-nowhere irreverent pop-culture sensibility, he broke his own lyrical mold of being a usually pitch-black poet.
>>69972508
>>69971920
But yeah, I think Beware is excellent. I'm not sure it would crack my personal top 10, but without thinking about it, I'm confident that they have at least twenty--not just good--but great tracks.
Thoughts on Nirvana?
I've personally never liked them.
Then you've never heard Milk It
They suck, and they're probably the single most overrated band of all time.
>>69971817
>>liked em when i was younger
>>kinda forgot em
>>listening to them now
>>nevermind is mostly repetitive and annoying
>>in utero is great
