BIG CHEESE
Do fans of metal music look down on the genre's classic bands- Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, etc.- the same way many fans of rock music look down on bands like Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Cream? A common warcry of those opposed to such bands is dadrock, do metal fans feel similarly about the many both popular and important groups to their music?
I dunno but tell me what modern rock/metal bands will be as fondly remembered as the classics?

>the same way many fans of rock music look down on bands like Led Zeppelin, The Who, and Cream

Is it normal to listen to "King of the Carrot Flowers pts. 2 & 3" without listening to part 1?
>listening to individual songs instead of the entire album
get off this board pls
>>69963637
pt 1 kinda sucks when you really listen to it. The guitar is so utterly compressed and poorly recorded. It sounds like the mic is right in front of the sound hole. Way too boomy. Really ruins the song.
>>69963988
I thought the low-fidelity sound was the point of lo-fi music.
I'm a noise/electronic improv artist. AMA. Also can I get some constructive criticism on this?

Porch, Oceans, Why go, and the obvious singles are really good. Listened to this shit nonstop in high school.
Never have been a fan of Alive though.

OK. Recommend me then a truly good album (not necessarily from the same genre of PJ).
Was Radiohead the most important band of our generation?
he's pointing at us
>>69963563
If the late 90's and early 00's were your generation then sure.
If your asking of the current generation, then I would say no.

At what age did you grow out of death metal?
>>69962998
Probably when I'm 28, 22 and still listening to it.
>>69962998
I still listen to it but I got out of the "I'm edgy for the society, black metal" phase at 19, late I guess
Legitimate question where do I get started with death metal?
Anyone else really, really like the Beastie Boys?

I'm sorry guys I tried
Not really feeling this one. Really wanted to but idk maybe I'm not in the mood but I didn't like it
There are parts when im starting to enjoy it but then the male vocal comes on and he takes me out.
He sounds like Robin Williams or a Robin Williams impression and I just can't stand it. What ever his name is ruined this album for me
What did you guys think about this album?
Excellent album but it also didn't click on my first listen, I originally thought it was repetitive. I love it now though.
His vocals aren't too abrasive though; do you listen to a lot of atypical vocals?
>>69962872
I listened to it once and half listened the first track again I like everything going on exceot his delivery
There's something about him. It really sounds like Robin Williams to me and makes the whole thing a joke
What do you mean by atypical vocals? Can you give me an example
>>69962708
Same. Been there. Trying listening to it after sometime. Eventually you'll be in love with this album. Not a David Bryne fan BTW, I find him overrated.
