I'm looking for emotional music. Maybe a bit like Death Cab for Cutie, but without the gaudy lyrics. They can be pretty at times, but I can't help but be a little embarrassed. I really enjoy emo instrumentals, but the vocals and lyrics are so off-putting to me. Any suggestions?

I did the hard work myself, trawling through rym hip hop and subgenre pages, listening to albums in full, they're all forgettable.
