Best ABBA song?

YOU CAN DANCE, YOU CAN JIVE, HAVING THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE
Greatest Hits [Atlantic, 1976]
Although four of these songs have gone top twenty here, the title commemorates the band's conquest of such places as West Germany and Costa Rica, where Abba's Europop is the biggest thing since the Beazosmonds. Americans with an attraction to vacuums, late capitalism, and satellite TV adduce Phil Spector and the Brill Building Book of Hooks in Abba's defense, but the band's real tradition is the advertising jingle, and I'm sure their disinclination to sing like Negroes reassures the Europopuli. Pervasive airplay might transform what is now a nagging annoyance into an aural totem. It might also transform it into an ashtray. God bless America, we're not likely to find out which. C+
Arrival [Atlantic, 1977]
Since this is already the best-selling group in the universe, I finally have an answer when people ask me to name the Next Big Thing. What I wonder is how we can head them off at the airport. Plan A: Offer Bjorn and Benny the leads in Beatlemania (how could they resist the honor?) and replace them with John Phillips and Denny Doherty. Plan B: Appoint Bjorn head of the U.N. and Benny his pilot (or vice versa) and replace them with John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Plan C: Overexpose them in singing commercials. Plan D: Institute democratic socialism in their native land, so that their money lust will meet with the scorn of their fellow citizens. C
Greatest Hits Vol. 2 [Atlantic, 1979]
Fourteen cuts, close to an hour of polyvinyl chloride, and only two of 'em made U.S. top ten. We have met the enemy and they are them. C

I could never get into The Magnetic Fields. Tried listening to 69 Love Songs and was bored out of my mind.
>>73968962
69 Love Songs has some of their best songs but unfortunately a third of it is filler. You should try some one of their shorter, more cohesive albums such as Get Lost and Charm of The Highway Strip if you haven't

hi
when did /mu/ become such a reddit infested shithole lol? all the culture of the board disappeared some time in 2016, that shit album cover the guy paid loads of money for is the only thing that felt like /mu/ in ages that i have seen. since when do people here give a single shit about redditcore like gorillaz or daft punk??
>>73968562
Since this entire board became a meme for normies

Biggest problems I've noticed are grimesfags (admittedly though, that don't seem as active outside of their generals anymore). That anti Grimes spam like a week account seemed to have a decent effect.
People are also posting mainstream releases in the sharethreads for some reason. And people are taking Spotify seriously.
>deletes feel, xxx, fear, god and duckworth
you're welcome plebs

Just saw them in Philly. They were unreal.
just saw them play in a sweaty basement a week ago or so. great show, great band. Best Buds is a great album, and i'm not normally one to get into much emo music.

i literally listen to this album every day. idk what it is but it's just a beautiful record.
>rap song starts with "You already know who it is"
>I don't
>rap song starts with the rap man shouting "YOU ALREADY KNOW WHO IT IS"
>rap man follows up this assertion by shouting one or several of his multiple rap man aliases, seemingly in direct defiance of his earlier suggestion that you already know who he is
very strange.
>rap song starts with "You already know who it is"
>I do
>listening to rap
This is the most beautiful album ever recorded.

When I first listened to it the first song blew me away. Definitely a great album.

Name an artist with a better personality.
I understand his musical output is mediocre, but he is practically as awesome as celebrities get.

http://www.stereogum.com/1952287/roger-waters-says-radiohead-should-stop-whining-about-israel-concert-protest-and-educate-themselves/wheres-the-beef/
>Yesterday, in an hour-long Facebook Live talk hosted by the BDS Movement, as Rolling Stone reports, Waters responded to Yorke’s most recent statement on the matter, in which the Radiohead frontman wrote that “Music, art and academia is about crossing borders not building them, about open minds not closed ones, about shared humanity, dialogue and freedom of expression,” comparing the situation to performing in America under the Trump administration. “My answer to people who say we should go there and sit around the campfire and sing songs: No, we shouldn’t,” Waters said. “We should observe the picket line. Anybody who’s tempted to do that, like our friends in Radiohead, if only they would actually educate themselves. I know Thom Yorke’s been whining about how he feels insulted, people are suggesting he doesn’t know what’s going on.”
>Addressing Yorke directly, Waters continued: “Well Thom, you shouldn’t feel insulted because if you did know what’s going on, you would have a conversation with [director] Ken Loach, who’s been begging you to have a conversation, or with me, I begged you, Thom. I sent you a number of emails, begging you to have a conversation. As did Brian Eno; you ignored us all, you won’t speak to anyone about anything. So it’s that kind of isolationism that is extremely unhelpful to everybody. I look forward to — if you feel like it, when you finish your trip to Israel, because you probably still will go — write me a letter and tell me how much good you did and how much change you managed to affect by chatting with musicians.”
