Italian cover of The Piper at the Gates of Dawn
Wow, pic related is great.
I'm about to listen to Rubber Soul now. What should I expect?

Expect a collection of songs delivered in the album format
Help is a great album, and a good movie.
Judging by the record cover I assume you're British.
The U.S. version of Rubber Soul and British version are quite different.
The British version was very much in tune with "Swinging London" of 1965-1966. (The U.S. version was packaged to convert "Fence Sitters" who were into both The Beatles and Bob Dylan)
In many ways, you can hear The Beatles on the verge of their "Psychedelic" era, but hadn't quite reached it yet. In many ways, you can hear how everything was leading up to Revolver.
I like both the U.S. and British versions of Rubber Soul. Happy listening.
>>75052115
uh... there were different versions?
I know they released some albums that were just collections of various singles and b-sides (Yesterday and Today for example) but never heard of their real studio albums being different
Does anyone else really like this album?
It's one of his most hated but I fucking love it.

>that cover of God Only Knows
Absolutely shit compared to Carl's vocals
This album sucks donkey dick.
It's a mediocre album. Doesn't mean you can't enjoy it but compared to his other 70s albums and post 80s albums it's bad.

Remember when his songs used to have proper endings instead of suddenly cutting off halfway in?
>>75051139
Have you only listened to singles?
>>75051139
cutting songs halfway in is Trent's biggest gimmick
He did it a couple times on TDS for dramatic/narrative effect and since then he's been re-using that trick all the time as if it sounded good on tis own
