LoG Listening Oils General
Welcome to THE place to discuss and recommend listening oils, hearing pebbles and subsidiaries of such products.
Remember to mention which brand and genre of oil you're using.
QOTD: What oils do you use post-listen?
I've been having trouble recently as my ears seem to wear out quickly after listening with Jengo Brand Folk Oil.
Slow day today so I'll try to bump and increase interactivity:
When did you first use listening oils? Did you like them right away or did they grow on you
Really need to get in to oils. Tried eucalyptus oil and cinnamon which really brought out the textures of especially Coltrane. But I guess they aren't common here so I will have to order online.

Cinnamon is a great starter oil but be wary cause it can cause a buildup of bass hairs in your cochlea, which basically affects your internal equaliser to be super bass heavy
Can we have a thread for Vince Staples? I wasn't really on /mu/ when Big Fish Theory dropped but it's my favorite hip-hop album of the year so far, and Vince has been putting out quality material since at least Shyne Coldchain Vol. 2. I know he's not exactly "under the radar" but I feel like a lot of people overlook him. And as far as rappers tackling issues about race, Vince seems to have some pretty nuanced opinions and conflicted emotions in his songs.
My favorite tracks on what I've listened to of his:
>Shyne Coldchain Vol. 2
Nate
>Summertime '06
Lift Me Up
>Big Fish Theory
Big Fish

Best Vince tracks IMO
> Screen Door
> Hands Up
> Lift Me Up
> Senorita
> War Ready
> Big Time
> BagBak
> Love Can Be
Vince is mad underrated IMO. The dude is also funny as fuck if you watch his interviews
What is Queen's best album?
Queen II
I'd have to say, The Best Of Queen
What does /mu/ consider the most orgasm inducing moment in a song?
I'm going with the start of the chorus in Slide Away
the organ at the end of coffee + tv
that part in exit music (for a film) when the music comes in like half way through
you know the part i mean
Tape change halfway through Strawberry Fields
Why did he did It lads? What was going through his head?
he's terminally ill.

>tfw you lose your job and become a registered sex offender so you can touch an ass that doesn't even exist
he's no bad guy. he just wanted to grope some fine celebrity ass.
What do you think the ideal length of a track in a videogame soundtrack is? A minute with loop? 2-3 minutes with loop? What do you think
it very much depends on the game and the situation
with undertale, he created a few motifs and developed them into many different length songs & used the motifs in many different ways
like using heartache & determination in asgore's theme
the length doesn't really matter, but it was important that is was easy to follow, made sense with the motifs, and matched the mood correctly
I think my favorite division of an OST for longer running mediums like television or video games is to put the highlights on a main release and the full collection on a 2nd release, so I can skip the fluff and rate the best of the OST with strangers.
Cowboy Bebop did this to great effect.
>>74508143
ok, I was wondering because I've been writing "game music" without a game to write it to, and while the overall forms have been pretty short I'm pretty happy with the motifs
though yeah, I think what made Undertale's soundtrack so good is that the motifs were legitimately catchy and memorable
Now that the dust has settled, is this album any good?

I saw Stefan Burnett at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
I heard that Stefan is a black man

Holy fucking mother of motherfucking FUCK that's fucking GOD TIER
Thoughts?
Quintessential "first track is wildly different from the rest of the album"-core, but good nonetheless.
>>74507811
Boring and overrated
>>74507811
One of my favorite albums. Not just the crossroad between indie rock and house, but also "gospel... and rhythm, and blues... and jazz". All hail Andrew Weatherall for partially producing the album and remixing the song that became "Loaded", the quintessential part track in my book.

It's not a bad album, but i'm not felling that unique QOTSA vibe that each album has, seems a bland mix of everything they made since debut with lot of Post Pop Depression.
The songs are cool in the moment i'm listening to them, but after they end i don't feel anything, hardly remember any melodies or lyrics. Forth listen now, starting liking a considerable bit in the third, before that couldn't even finish because i would go do something else.
>>74507743
maybe it is me going out on guitar sound, given that QOTSA is the last rock band i still listen.
>>74507743
It's because they aren't that great of a band and unfortunately, they only survive on old hype. Seriously, is this the state of music today? Pathetic.
