You're running a quest based on a show about colorful ponies for a bunch of strangers on the internet. I know I'm giving beauty tips from empty hips here, but don't overly stress out about the small stuff. Take breaks if you really really need to, it's completely understandable. Just keep yourself from getting overly stressed out or depressed about this. Enjoy it.
Oh, and one thing I know helps me is to listen to fitting music depending on the mood of the situation you're writing/drawing. Listen to scary shit if you're doing scary shit, calming if it's calm, and so on.
I'm sure most people do this already and my advice is about as useless as ever, but I felt like responding to this before I fell asleep.

I argue against this. Discovery writing is one of the cores of QMing, and while planning is good doing something in a flash of inspiration is not wrong either-- Cirquesque was that and is my most successful quest, and my best decisions were largely improvisation.
Every writer has their way to do things so while I respect your advise, I think the opposite reasoning should be presented too, for fairness' sake.

A good QM can make A LOT of detail on the spot. Here's some advise: Background details aren't as important as they seeming to be there. You can skip making a full culture immediately if you just put noticeable enough cultural baggage, and then make the culture at your own pace by connecting those points-- their behavior, their beliefs, their diet and their slurs.
I am not denying the utility of planning, it always pays to have prepared material. But, there are many factors in a CYOA that are unpredictable to everyone and, at least to me, players that always do what you predicted would be boring, so it's a nice thing they don't.

this is all valid, I see what you guys are saying. let me rephrase. having a plan is not very important, but the process of planning in itself can be extremely helpful. can't expect your plan to survive first contact with the board of course, but I think having ideas and a setting fleshed out can be assuring. at the same time, yeah, flexibility is very important, even with my planning I'd say at least 95% of my quest is improvised on the spot. actually starting the thread and getting into the flow was a lot easier than I was expecting personally, so if you are new qm don't be too intimidated but also realize you don't have hurry to start, it's not like your idea is going to expire. I personally trashed my first three or four premises for Zodiac before settling on what I'm writing now

the action of starting the quest is very rewarding and you are gonna have to make the leap at some point because otherwise you are just thinking of pony fanfiction that isn't even real
