I easily saw the April Fools joke, I was simply pointing out the fact that you could've actually put some effort into it. It's like telling someone, "The sky is purple!" and expect them to think you're clever. It was shitty filters every time they tried to post evidence based on them. /tg/ quest numbers did have a tendency to spike due to the aforementioned short nature of threads, so while the average was 8% of threads (12 threads) spiking to 24 on some weekends wasn't outside of reason.

In several cases they filtered the string 'quest', which means it also filtered out any OP that had 'question' in it or anything like that. On /tg/. It's blatantly obvious to anyone not completely retarded what that's going to result in. I helped a few of them refine their filters with /quest\b/

Before /cyoa/ came about I think quest was the more popular term. I think this general was influenced in its creation by Anonpone, which referred to them as CYOAs exclusively. And new quests took their lead from the thread. As for before that, I don't really know why or how the terms drifted into being equated. I doubt it had anything to do with getting caught in Equestria since there wasn't a big enough quest culture to filter before /cyoa/ took off.

Darkest Hour has combat that feels Intense. I don't know if I would call it brutal but few ponies die without first suffering a crippling or at least major and painful injury. however the main reason for that is armor prolonging combat, if you are after constant slaughter of dozens of ponies you will get that a few times but it is mostly more extended battles of small groups, the one time we were on the front line we gave our allies an opening to inflict massive sudden casualties though.

If that is not what you mean by brutal then you can safely ignore the rest of the post.

As for edge there is a lot of discussion on that. many people believe it is edgy just because we work for Nightmare Moon but those retards can be safely ignored, especially when you consider the 50/50 chance that Celestia is the villain in this story rather then Nightmare Moon. On the other hand the mc was raped and we did just torture a mare (although we broke her before we did anything painful), none of it was edgy in context but most of the players are likely the types to have a higher tolerance for edge. Some have said the labor camps and killing those mostly unarmed saboteurs was edgy but in both cases the alternative was enemies running wild in the city. Some of the other players seemed to have an at least in character problem with the labor camps imprisoning family members of those who were locked up as a preventative measure. Which brings us to the main thing that keeps the quest from going full edge, the mc has to much dam empathy.

Really to decide if you think it is to edgy4u you would have to read it. Anything said out of context about the cyoa makes it seem like an edge fest.
