However despite the vast knowledge he amassed Emerald never shook off the psychological scarring he experienced under his step-parents and selling his body to others only compounded his developing mental issues. So after "inheriting" Joyride’s various artifacts and her pocket dimensions. He decided to ’help’ other foals by taking them away from ’bad’ parents and erasing their memories. Before giving them to ponies who desire young colts and fillies.

It has proven to be a very successful if underground business. With the authorities never finding him due to the magic masking and moving his house. He recently acquired a new filly for his playroom named Treads who came from terrible parents. Very neglectful. Using the focus embedded in his hat he begins to erase those bad memories and replace them with much better ones. One’s of her nice and kind Uncle Lucky.

As someone who plays CQ, Emerald is pretty much the least interesting Character in the quest.

He's got a cliche as shit backstory, he's not a strong character, and he's becoming more and more just a vehicle for lewds.

This is partially FicFic's fault, and partially his players. I'm a bit bitter because the first few scenes made CQ out to be a /ss/ quest, and since that's a kink of mine I followed it.

But now that's been abandoned and the players and QM steer away from any straight lewd and toward gay shit. Not only is that frustrating from my personal perspective, but it's also given Emerald a really dumb sort of character that seeks lewd out when it logically doesn't make sense. And then doesn't go for it when it does. I mean we wine and dined a girl, but Ficfic fucking blue balled us. That's been MONTHS ago and there's been nothing but gay shit since.

Emerald claims to not be gay, but then a few updates later is sucking zebra dick. Ficfic never even acknowledged that dialogue really.

So yeah, most of what I have to say about Em is pretty negative. He's not deep enough to discuss, and there's no memes to spam. I don't talk about it because I can't give constructive critique. I try not to comment unless I can at least do that.

Maybe it's just me but I've been feeling like the opposite has been happening to his character.

Remember the cyoa essentially started off as a porn excuse plot.

But since then it's turned into a more adventure based series. With Emerald struggling with the desire for revenge with the desire to have a life.

I meen we've learned quite a bit about his past and we've in turn have been building an interesting personality for him. He wants to protect and fight for the friendships he has even if they are mostly friends with benefits. He did fight a kraken to save th ship.

If Emerald was a vehicle for lewd and that's all the players wanted then Ruby would've been inducted in Joy's prostitution business as soon as possible.

If you are talking about a cyoa that has completely gone into being nothing but a vehicle for lewds look at Horse Quest.

I had a dream that nips had an Autistic like actual autism, not 4chan meme autism brother who did nothing but drive tiny RC cars around.

He told me that Nips was done with questing because he'd been hired to work on the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies and that he felt that the quests weren't "dante enough"

I have no idea what "dante enough" means, but that dream was depressing for two reasons. Firstly, because despite Nip's weird ass lore, I really do enjoy his quests. I'm sad that we don't get to play them as much anymore.
The second is that I'm dreaming about an internet person I've never even seen a picture of. I might be autistic.

Pick a bunch of ponies, MCs or not, from different quests and rank them between 1 and {$maxNumber}, 1 being goomba tier and {$maxNumber} being final boss. Bonus points if you come up with a fitting theme!

I don't play SS, but I assume that crew would be pretty endgame tier, from how strong I've heard they are.

Gar: Joke boss.
Shade: Obnoxious boss that's all over the arena and impossible to hit
Pen: Uses a pole and a gun. Mid to late game

Willow: Fairly glass cannon, lots of combos, has an obnoxious stun move.
Steel: Tanky, chains and charge attacks
Tara: Harder version of Shade. Status up the ass and impossible to hit.

Heat: Harvest and Piryte
Piryte would be a sharpshooter while Harvest fights more up close. Has the magic bolt which stuns, then she has a knife/shotgun.

Thresh: Early game fight. Both of them have a snapdragon but nothing special.

Jolly: Impossible. Fairly slow, but hits like a truck, defies physics, and has incredible high health. Yeah, good luck.

11-54: Pepper respawns in tubes throughout the arena, so Spear is the target for the fight. Early game, their spells aren't that intimidating.

M&M: Gang fight. Each has a weapon with the special ability in quest. Midgame.

Easy: Seems like a pretty standard fire boss, and has that wrench for melee and mid range. Mid game fight.

Treads: Has a tank.

Mango: High health pool, hits semi-hard. Not too experienced, so fairly easy to overcome. Early-mid game.

Jolly's the only one I can think of that would be a fittingly difficult final boss.

Craft's has this weird quality of being bulky in the wrong way. I think it's the thicc body style on short but very large legs. Also the head's too small.

Doxel's lines are really messy and it has an ass that sticks out that looks really weird.

Even though Craft's looks wonkier, it's still more visually appealing than Dox's because of the neater lines.

Well, my advice to Craft would be twofold.

1) Make sure your pones have pupils and shimmers. Solid color eyes are creepy if you're not doing pixel art. She looks like she's blind.
2) In general, your heads are too small and your necks are too long. You did pretty well this time on neck length, but the head is far too small for the body.

I honestly don't know how to answer this one. It's actually quite hard to do a number of things with your writing if you are your only reader. It'll become clearer to you as you get feedback.

I disagree about having to go the whole nine yards to run an enjoyable quest (which is, or at least should be, the main purpose). Furthermore, I haven't met anyone that said the writing process is a breeze. It can take time.

Keep in mind that nobody will chew your head off for running something relatively short.

Monitoring a thread takes up more of your time than catching up on a thread due to the checking up and responding time. I'd imagine most players check back on the thread when it gets a new player post, reads it and then dismisses it or responds to it.
