Well, I've had this view since I was trying to read both Shooting Stars and RenneQuest about a year ago.

SS was on Hiatus, but was probably gonna come back, while RenneQuest was old and done. Despite me enjoying the story of Renne better, knowing it was done sapped all my motivation from reading it, while I still really wanted to catch up on SS so I could play in the next thread.

I also stopped trying to catch up on RGS because I knew it would end before I ever got to play. I only got to the section right before the botched ambush of the convoy.

Anyway, I've been QMing for a while now, and no one has told me to eat shit and stop so I assume I'm at least adequate.

This idea is to get Emerald to become tough on his own, without realizing what is going on. He sees you as some bully who keeps hitting him in the face with a football. Slowly, on his own he will begin to git good just because he is trying to avoid getting hit with a football. One day he's either going to start catching the ball or kick your ass. Either way, he won't have some kind of crutch to stand on where he thinks that without you he would have never toughened up building self esteem.
