Hello there.

That's not true. The reason the Note was pushing its shitty deals so much was because that's what the Note simply wanted to do. I never intended to railroad it as the only way to continue the story but instead to show how the Note was trying to corrupt Aurora mentally. I was actually glad that the majority of players tried to avoid using the Note and find a way to subdue it without making a "deal with the devil" and I had arranged my plans to follow the players’ decision, such as trying to find the artefacts instead.

Despite this, the only way to 'survive' the situation Aurora found herself in, aka being poisoned by the dragon’s blood vapour, was to accept the Note's deal, and the players supported that dying was a better decision, as they did not know what was going to happen once the deal had been be settled. I will still have to agree that I could have had done many things better and probably should have. But welp~

When giving a hard deadline like that one you'll need to take a few things into account. The difficulty of the task (since it was something that Sombra was unable to do, despite his power and resources, it must've been something difficult), he pacing of the quest, and whether or not we give it 100% of our attention. In the quest we were trying to get an ally, trying to fight with the note, and dealing with assassins from the sewer queen (who probably could've assassinated Sombra).

This, Sombra was our only 'reliable' source to measure the difficulty of our task and severity of failure, and aside from maybe one or two posts he was kinda hard to deal with. Hell, everyone was hoping as soon as we could talk to him mid-game he could give us an alternative to the note, ESPECIALLY since it would harm anyone else while in use in a time we would need to work with known allies.

Vincent, if you ever get the mojo to do a sequel, please remember there is a fine line between evil strict and stupid strict. Sombra has to have had some strategic element in his reign, not just his power alone. He was a bare-bones villain in the few brief moments he was shown in cannon, and you can build on that in so many ways.
