So guys, I watch Super Sentai since 2011 ( Gokaiger is my first one but I watched a lot of seasons ) and I was looking for a new place to talk about Sentai since all other places that I visited not seems good for me anymore

It has nothing to do with an "unified timeline". It's just odd to bring in the Kyuranger while disregarding the show's setting even though they could easily have explained it there. Same thing if the next Vs movie doesn't come up with an explanation for why the Zyuohger did nothing against the Jark Matter.

Now, two years from now, when the Kyuranger are just a past team, I wouldn't expect them to reference something like that.

Watching sentai's a little different than a lot of other TV. Gokaiger highlights what sentai is, shows that its lighthearted tone is actually part of its strength and doesn't prevent it from taking its characters seriously, and shows that each team had its own unique heart. And it also showed the strength of the live action fight scenes by having each team have a different fighting style and putting them next to each other.

Gokaiger ended up becoming my first sentai oddly enough by watching old Power Ranger clips on YT one Saturday afternoon. I saw a picture thumbnail on my video recommendations of some badass pirate suits which was a video of the show promo. I became intrigued and started looking for episodes to watch and eventually someone had uploaded all the episodes up to episode 28 on Facebook and I spent the rest of that afternoon binge watching. Afterwards I was able to find toku websites like HJU and RB to which I found out about the sub groups out there subbing the show and was able to watch the show live using Keyhole.

I think Kyuranger could use more villains that will be in it for the duration of the show. There hasn't been a lot of focus on Jark Matter despite it being a looming presence in the show and I'm honestly surprised that nobody has complained about it yet.

Definitely looking forward to Space Squad tho.

I think the idea is that the toys sell more if they're associated with the red, since they're the lead character. Ever since Toqger, most auxiliary mecha that are sold by themselves debuted under the red's control even. Zyuohger kind of broke the pattern with its repaints though.

Of course, toy sales have actually been low ever since they started doing that, so it's clear this isn't working.

I don't really mind subs translating things somewhat literally, and also I've found that typically TVN's subbing doesn't bother me too much (I've used it for a few other sentai and rider shows before)

I'm a couple minutes into their Deka work and I'm genuinely getting confused by it though, does the entire sub have stuff like this?

Well, they have 12 Karo to go through and so far only introduced 2 of them since we've spent several episodes with Ikagen and the octo girl as the main villains, even though they weren't part of the line up.

Then again, I don't think most Sentai villains are really worth the amount of screentime they get so, this progression through them is actually a point in favor of Kyuranger to me. I wish it happened more often.
