Those other examples are really small exceptions, and the real meat of the secret is always grinding kills and going to a specific route. Compare to a game like Z1 where many secrets had multi-flag steps or involved what felt like legit choices, either storyline or tactical ones.

UX is a great game still and the way it handles secrets story-wise is awesome, but the secret requirements themselves feel pretty damn uninspired and same-y.

The results are going to be massively skewed by the fact that only a tiny number of the games are in a language that anyone here speaks or reads.

That said, I'm actually quite fond of how V blends a lot of its aspects, including the very clever solution to the problem Eva 2.0 presented. The one problem with it is that Gardim does almost nothing as a villain faction, but the crossover work is pretty good.

Alpha Gaiden's also a good blend, but also has almost no OG plot.

Holy shit I've just read a number of articles about how game should let players skip gameplay. More choices is always good but it's so sad that there're actually people who want to ignore gameplay - the definitive aspect that make a game, well, a game, not a fucking movie. There's always VNs or the Telltale games for those "interactive movies" so don't pull thaf bullshit on me.
SRW is a special case in this topic because there are tactical gameplay, mostly mediorce to shit but yeah actual gameplay. And the main draw to buy this series is 99% stories and crossover interaction anyways.
Should Bamco completely remove the gameplay and instead just plays the animations when there's combat in the VN segment? Or maybe make it QTE Asura's Wrath style? What do you think about this?

I kinda dug Vangray's cannon attack as well as Vangnex's final attack. Granvang was kind of choppy, I guess? It might've been intentional but it didn't really worked for some of the moves it had.

The Gardiam units, outside of Jouji's flying fortress of lasers, felt like they were leftover designs from the planning phases of the Sidereal ships in Z3. Did like Neva's unit though, even if I wished it had more attacks.

We now have like at least 16 variations of Pikachu, more I may not care to remember and for some reason 3 Charizard forms. The brand new Alolan form gimmick was only given to Gen 1 Kanto mons and last Gen's gimmick of Mega forms pretty much ignored Gen 5 the largest Gen and is skewed mainly with Gen 1/3. Plus the Alolan regional dex despite being already tiny is stuffed with primarily Kanto Gen 1 mons again making up the bulk of the roster.

Personally I kind of like it when Pokemon does it. Aside from the Pokemon themselves if you look at numbers, as has been mentioned with all the Alolan forms and Pikachus and whatnot, but seeing returning protags and other cameos is kinda nice. If they de-morphed for between-stage dialogue, we'd have to see anime-style likenesses for real actors, and who knows how that looks or how that falls under licenses and royalties. I think the Godzilla vs. Evangelion event in X-O gave us some precedent with that one Mechagodzilla pilot, though, so who knows.

SRC Dungeon's got some new updates since last I looked at it, too. More tweaks again, Genesic GaoGaiGar got some tweaks and cut-ins, Amuro's upgrade to the Dijeh is now the Dijeh SE-R, something involving the Shinkiro, some Unicorn Gundam tweaks and giving it a Shield Funnel upgrade, Dann of Thursday's final move is an upgrade, something about Tem Ray, and so on.

It was a product of an era of political turbulence.

Sima Rui declared himself Emperor after the previous Emperor had fallen to the Han Zhao. This act was similar to the founding of the Shu-Han, and thus it was in the government's best interest to hold Shu in the positive light (Previously, Western Jin celebrated Wei).
