I think it's actually not the most survivable unit in the game, I've seen bosses deal fairly large damage to it (much larger than usual at least) and I doubt it can pop regen for everything by itself anyway. Not forever, it can't, it'll run out of SP too soon.

In terms of pure survivability I'm not certain Big Volfogg is actually killable. I think it got hit one time in my entire BX playthrough, by a boss, and it wasn't for a lot.

You need sixty combined kills on the Might Gaine cast by the end of stage 17 for Black Might Gaine. You can get that many kills on them before the routesplit even happens if you pour a bunch of money into Maito and have him kill most of the enemies on stages 11-14.

If you don't take the Might Gaine routesplit and you don't have quite enough kills, you'll get some free kills on them while they're on the other route, but I wouldn't rely on this if you really want Black. Just use Maito, he's easily the best unit you have at that point anyway.

1) Would you care if I compressed the component machine forms into 2, maybe even 1 form?

At the bare minimum Vehicle mode is kind of pointless and I can just give Beast Mode extra movement, but if I drop it to 1 form, I'm not sure if it should be the Humanoid or Beast Mode to keep.

Or do you just not care because who's gonna use the component machines past the early game when they learn how to combine?

2) Should I be evil and make you take up 4 component slots a.l.a SRX style or not be evil?

When the show started it was Vehicles and they became Beast eventually in combat. Humanoid forms were Episode 11. You probably should have Vehicle forms, transform to Beast as an attack (probably?), and have Human form be some attacks you unlock later (maybe?).

Or you could do a Z2-1, give the player Eagle Fighter - which of course is Vehicle on principle - and use the time saved to make a summon attack and a Human form for it (with its own summon attack) which eventually unlocks or becomes Dancouga.

What you may not realize is most of that music you like are either outright stolen from XO, outright stolen from NEO, or in one case, outright stolen from OGs. Only new music are the ones not in any of those games, and on those it's rather up and down, with a heavy focus on down - most of the instrumental themes sound great, all but two or three of the vocal themes are meh-at-absolute-best tier and some are just outright shit.

Aside from muh patterns, @3 and W are heavily backloaded and the majority of their OG plot is 2nd half tier stuff. Just found a bug in the game. Stage 30, UC Route, when Lane attacks a Dowadge, there's a chance he'll override the enemy pilot's dialogue and the dialogue box.

Essentially, after he attacks, his portrait stays until the enemy finishes their attack, and the enemy utters no dialogue. I wasn't fast forwarding either.

Honestly I'm grateful it was Prince of Darkness. Nadesico series has been in seven different games, I've had more than enough of it for one lifetime. The units except the ship itself are always terrible and I don't like the characters at all. Prince of Darkness has been used less, has nicer-looking robots and a better battle theme courtesy of Black Selena, and the characters aren't nearly as grating.

I'll agree with you about wanting to see Getter Robo again instead of just giving us Black Getter all the time. Crossbone plot would have been nice too, but I'm just glad they included it at all after so long absent.

Basically, you play Yamato 2199 straight until they warp out of the solar system and wind up in a dimensional pocket (Aside from picking up F91/Crossbone Gundam, Black Getter, Great Mazinger, and two of the 00 Gundam). Then when you get out of the dimensional pocket there's a dimensional quake and the main characters wind up in a new dimension. The new dimension starts off with you fighting Might Gaine criminals and then Nadesico B and post-plot Celestial Being show up. Then there's an info dump about a three-way war involving the Jovian Lizards, Zaft, Innovaders, and the Gaizokians. Plot sounds like we need to track down Yurika and the Yamato.

I've never had issues with attacks breaking through the Laplace Wall, especially in the later stages. Of course, it helps that all the non-boss enemies with energy attacks tend to be hilariously weak.
