***READ THE GUIDE***

For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions, as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here!
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

***Graze Group Build***
Rules:
Pick any 1/144 or 1/100 kit from the Graze family (Pic Related), and paint and customize it. As far as customizing it, I'm going to place a limit on that. The limit is 50% additions to the kit.
To define 50%, look at it like this, you could take a Graze Ritter and replace the arms (including shoulders), legs, and backpack and I'd call that 50%. I'm not counting handheld bits in that. If you're unsure of something please ask in IRC, the thread, or email.

Start Date: 12/1/16
Due Date: 2/1/17
Submissions go to
[email protected]
Submission format
Please submit photos in jpg via a compressed file (zip, rar, or 7zip), please don't link images to imgur or photobucket or the like. Please also include some WIP photos of the kits being constructed/painted/etc as validation that it's your custom.

I'm pretty pleased with how my Hazel is coming along.

I think the one thing that I'm having the most trouble with is that my parts always seem to collect dust or tiny hairs between being painted and being topcoated, resulting in small blemishes being stuck. Does anyone have any suggestions for dealing with that? I always try to spray the part with air first and keep an eye out for errant hair.

Also, I'm using Vallejo gloss varnish as my topcoat. It's ok, but even when pretty well thinned and at low PSI (like 15) it produces that orange peel texture. It might be the primer causing that and I'm not noticing it until it gets glossy. Like from a distance of 6+ inches away it looks fine, but once you take it under direct light and examine it, it's pretty obvious.

Am I being overly critical? Or is that not normal? Also, does flat coat tend to make the bumpy surface look better? Or does it just make that problem worse?

Is that the magic toys 1/100 or the 1/144 hguc? As far as hair goes im not too sure. You can try gloss coating and then giving it another matte coat.

This is not the gunpla thread

1/144 HGUC.

I think I'm just going to get like a small brush or feather duster or something so I can dust the model parts before painting.

>>15040480
Where do you think we are?

Did you know all of the Advanced Hazel's part can fit on that? It can even be converted into a full Titan's colour regular Hazel.
>>
>>15040481

It could be the area you're painting. Your airbrush could be blowing up a lot of nearby dust and its settling on your kit

how do you guys get back the motivation to work on kits?

i took a loooong break, and have a bunch o' shit in my backlog, but cant find any motivation to do it.
>>
>>15040641

Gotta give it some time and take a break. I never get worried about my backlog. If I can score some kits for a good deal or before they go out of stock, I do it. When its time to sit down and start building again, I can just snag a kit out of my backlog and work on it.
