Rules:
Pick any 1/144 or 1/100 kit from the Graze family (Pic Related), and paint and customize it. As far as customizing it, I'm going to place a limit on that. The limit is 50% additions to the kit.
To define 50%, look at it like this, you could take a Graze Ritter and replace the arms (including shoulders), legs, and backpack and I'd call that 50%. I'm not counting handheld bits in that. If you're unsure of something please ask in IRC, the thread, or email.

IBO continues to satiate my unhealthy love for large, long barrelled mobile-suit-purposed cannon weapons.

So I finally decided I'm buying an HG Jesta.
I am going to collect all of the CCA kits.
I just ordered nippers, a hobby knife and 800, 1200, 1500 and 2000 grit sand paper along with my jesta.
Is this a good start?

How do you space your projects out?

I used to cram as much sanding and painting and building as I could into a single day and I kept getting really burned out, where I would have a half-completed model just sitting there for a month before I got the nerve to finish it. For the last couple of months I've been doing about an hour's work each night instead and its been working out really well. I feel like I'm accomplishing and learning more and I keep having something to look forward to. It also makes some of the frustrating parts like seam filling more bearable since I'm just tackling a little at a time.

On the internet, a hugbox is a derogatory term used against forums by people who view said forums as being censor happy. Not that these people are usually those who find glee in posting wildly off-topic and controversial posts, usually to incite flame wars.

In the context of /m/, a hugbox is a forum that Snapfit (and by extenstion Airbrush) is either exiled or banned due to the forum's other posters not tolerating his behaviour any longer.

Given that these 3rd party companies seem to have a pretty fast turn around, usually announcing kits 2 or 3 months before release I'd say it should be out within the first half of 2017. Give him either the Revive RX-78-2 or Guncannon. Or the Origin Guncannon since its panel lines are sex even without inking.

You'll want to stay away from Zeon or mook suits for now because they won't look "cool" to him yet without knowledge of the actual series (I thought the Dom was the silliest looking gay shit for a long time until I learned it was the go-fast-fuck-you driveby MS in a game), so you want something with a lot of accessories (the RX-78-2) or has a lot of guns and looks "powerful" (the Guncannons).

If he likes kits and becomes a real man, soul unbound by gravity, he'll come on his own to love the monoeyes.

Different shades of a single color are great.
You can think faction, usage area, to get some inspiration.
Plan out a few different ones and compare them maybe. And don't be afraid to stick to complimentary colors, like I said, a bit comes down to experience with fucking around with it.

FYI, black lights differ in quality, and when most of the shit around the parts that are supposed to glow look blue that's because it's a low quality light. For the same price you can get a pure UV light that will only make the glowy bits glow, and brighter too.

You can get a 375nm light for like $5, try looking for one of those if you're interested.

Less of a pain to change bits out and has a decent range up to 3mm anything bigger you'll want something else. I got a majority of the bits above 1mm and only ever had one dud, the hex part didn't hold bit in place so it fell out. You replaced it free of charge though.

Well, just got started on my Geirail today. Got the torso and right arm snap fit so far, but I'm a little disappointed. The bits that are straight lifted from the Graze are solid as expected, but the shoulder and the armor on the side of the torso seem to be made of explodium.

Most translucent pieces will glow under a UV light. The more of them a kit has the more prominent the effect will be. I'd love to see someone actually put the 1/72 Zegapain under a blacklight like it was intended for.

IBO mass buyer here with an update.
Enjoy the shitty posing, lighting, camera and permanent lavender filter.

5½ kits are assembled.
Graze is panel lined, but he's hiding the back.
Barbatos is currently being assembled, fucking headpiece took forever to finish due to an immaculate amount of nub trimming on microscopic small parts and making sure the V-fin came out nicely when I removed the dumb blunt thingies.
I also now know how to assemble a Graze frame completely blindfolded.

Panel lining should do wonders once I finish all of the kits, and then next month I'll have my "small" batch of 20+ tamiya paints and top coats for detailing.

Oh, and I absolutely refuse to apply the stickers as well.

Bandai made "Spruekits" of certain DC (Mostly batman), Halo, Ninja turtles, and repackaged pokemon and danball. There were three levels, with level 1 basically being a 1/144 NG, level 2 being hg quality, and level 3 being something like RE100 quality. I have a couple of the halo kits. It seems thaat the line is mostly dead after only a few years due to lack of interest though.

There are also countless traditional statue type kits of marvel stuff (Paint and glue required of course), especially iron man.

yeah, its basically a re/100 but pretty good. theres lots of details, but not much color separation, so you need to put some work into it. they were around 50$ in toysrus and might be hard to find these days. definitely recommend it if you like master chief. you can even see the parts at the top right corner of the box
