so as @G is being downloaded, is @G really as hard as people say it is, or is it merely the result of the change between the classic winkysoft formula to the modern formula?

>>
>>14743055
I heard that they were broken for some reason. Why is that? Don't they have playable versions of them? Or at they locked to Auel and Sting, hence the screw up?

Putting that aside, I just want to edit the the ZEUTH units on the Stage 38 to have the same stats, abilities and items that they have when I equip them and see how how I fair against them.
>>

>my computer doesnt want to open up the 7zip file

>>
>>14743072
I'm not sure, i've never had this problem before, maybe its just the file itself thats the problem, I'm gonna try emuparadise, but while thats downloading I dcided to test @2 and in a case of irony, the game runs fine during battles but gets slowdown on the map, which is the exact opposite of what happened when I tried emulating OGs
>>
>>14743079
Look what version of 7zip you have. Very old versions won't open new files properly. I've actually had one case (.RAR) where 7zip decompressed the file the wrong way, and I had to use WinRAR.

Our Overlord and Saviour is going balls deep, did you see how many places are there just by going through the PV?
This is going to put Minstrel Song to shame in sheer mechanics alone, then there's events, characters and a fuckhuge map you can explore how you see fit from the moment you start the game for maximum sequence breaking and Leonard does a fucking Buster Homerun, we have a Buster Homerun waza Afendi!

A RPG like this comes out only once in eons, to miss on this game means to miss on some of the finest things life has to offer.

Everything about it is far beyond what I expected.

Impressive visuals, solid gameplay, and we all know it's gonna have a good soundtrack.

I'll say it again, I honestly was not expecting something like this out of Scarlet. His Madness does it again.

I was honestly thinking this'd be like the second coming of Minstrel Song, but it really looks like something that will genuinely surpass it in terms of quality.

The animations are a tad stiff, but I'm willing to let it go because everything else is just so nice.

>>14743304
Yeah, the amount of mechanics shown in the PV alone is amazing

>9 weapon types
>Dual Wield is back
>possible All Out Attack mechanic from Imperial implemented
>Formations from the Romancing Trilogy are back with more depth and effects
>Huge cast
>Gods' blessings/Summons from Minstrel Song
>World Map from the GB trilogy is back
>Tarot Spells from SaGa Frontier and god know what else
>New Interrupt feature
>Tons of recruitable characters
>Tons of places to visit
>Tons of events/quests with multiple questlines
>New waza
>Kawazu himself said that a single playthrough is 30-60 hours
>He hinted at the game being like Frontier so each MC probably has their own final boss too

Add those to all the other known basic mechanics and the man is almost singlehandedly saving the genre from stagnation. I'm going to be real sad to see him go, that will be the day when all hope will be lost.
>>
>>14743379

Though to be fair, anyone who said "let's make the triggers of the pinball machine be Left and A! Not A and B, not Left and Right, Left and A! That makes total sense" is an idiot.
>>
>>14743401
And yet Mana is still dead
>>
>>14743408
Consider how the Game Boy is set up. The left arrow is on the left side of the console, the A button is on the right side of the console. On a pinball machine, the buttons are on the left and right side of the machine.
The only reason you're complaining about this is because you're playing it on a keyboard, on an emulator, over a decade later.
>>
>>14743427
I suppose that's fair, but even so...

Maybe I should just adjust my controls to something more natural.
>>
>>14743422

>>
>>14743390
>SaGa Frontier
I see both games at my local game game store at a good price, Should I get them?
>>
>>14743408
Left and right would be terrible.
The triggers are on opposite sides of the machine as >>14743427 said.

The only way left and right would work would be on wonderswan, and even then it's not actually left and right.
>>
>>14743437
I'd say it was more the result of Dawn and Children of Mana but hey if you want to blame unrelated games to fuel your vendetta go right ahead
>>
>>14743390

>Should I get them?
SaGa is an eccentric series and despite having the same title the two Frontier games are totally unrelated and completely different.
The mechanics are fairly unique and require extensive knowledge of the system, think of it as the dwarf fortress of JRPGs.

The first SaGa Frontier has:

>Lesbian/Bi half vampire tomboy Utena expy fights her sugar daddy and his harem while discovering the nature of LOVE
>A hotblooded boy witness the murder of his own family by the hands of an evil organization, he gets turned into the sentai hero Alkaiser and vows to destroy the evildoers
>robots
>Layzner's V-Max
>Interdimensional cops shenanigans
>Becoming the world's best mage by killing your Real Twin Brother
>Wrestling with giant robots
>A scrapped robot gets adopted by two kids and goes on a quest to stop a dimensional buster, self repairing warship with a drunk samurai
>A monster boy goes on a quest to save his collapsing world by searching for seven legendary rings with a cheongsam wearing mature chinese beauty
>A supermodel gets framed for her boyfriend's murder, She escapes from the world's most terrifying prison and becomes the third Charlie's Angel for a Pizzeria's owner, fighting crime and corruption while cosplaying
>A laid back country bumpkin has a crazy adventure

And much more, but so far it's the most /m/ of the series.

The second game is

>A noble without soul gets exiled and bullied as a kid then grow up to bully the entire world back with a steel sword, MOTIVATION and his band of best bros
>A badass, no nonsense digger secretly fights against a eldritch abomination for three generations with his wife, bros, son and granddaughter while exploring the world and discovering ancient relics

And much more, the systems are also pretty different while retaining some basic mechanics.
As long as you like complex, unforgiving, non linear games with exotic mechanics, SaGa is your go to.
>>14743446
I guess it did kinda good.
>>
>>14743539
Game one is like $29.99(?) and the 2nd one's price is close to the first one.
>>
>>14743539
Theres also 4 races for playable characters, Human, Monster, Robot, and Mystic with each race having different ways of growing and learning new skills

Sounds a bit high, and I don't know how much you'd like the game's system, honestly, it's not a series for everyone.
I don't want you to spend money on games you'd end up not liking, maybe you should just download a ISO or something and try it to see if it clicks with you.
>>14743610
That's true for the first Frontier, but the second doesn't have races.
I wish you could explain the games' system easily and concisely, but there's so many mechanics it's impossible.
>>
>>14743705
The store is very odd with games, Like you can see a very good copy of Shaq fu (with the Case, Manual & CD) for like $30. Then you see a loose copy of Pokemon Blue for like $10.
>>
>>14742905
I just bought Moon Dwellers on a whim and damn, the hit/evasion rates at the beginning are just complete bullshit and making scenario 4 complete hell, should I just dump all the money I have for now on Kaiser accurasy and hope for it to carry me or is there a more effective method?
>>
>>14743742
Use Strike, and when you get her have Alfimi spam attune or whatever the Engrish made it into.
>>
>>14743737
Keep in mind, This a independent store with two managers and four employees.
>>
>>14743742
Upgrade Accuracy first, 3 bars or 5 bars depending on funds situation

When you get Alfimi, use her Attune/Inspire for Strike, since she has SP Regen
>>
>>14743705
>I wish you could explain the games' system easily and concisely, but there's so many mechanics it's impossible.
Now that you mention it, I wonder what a SaGa game's design document would looks like.

>>14743742
My only advice is to try to upgrade the robot's aiming skill as often as you can, in addition to going wild with Attune/Strike.

Compatible Kaiser will take you places.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVxUUotm1P4

What it was like for me to play Moon Dwellers with CK as my top ace.

Calvina is Jaffar, trying to take over the #1 position, but I wasn't having any of that.
>>
>>14743786
Wouldn't Shu be Jaffar since he joins at the ass end of the game and hijacks almost everyone's top aces?
>>
>>14743742
Aflimi +accuracu boosting parts are all you need. You don't even need to upgrade if you want. And actually try to use terrain bonuses.

On the subject of translated SRW, I recently checked out the patch of SRW AP. I only loaded up the latest stage I was in, so I didn't see what they did in the individual stages.

They replaced the kanji for terrains with icons, which I think was a smart choice on their part.

I do wonder why they chose AP, of all the games. I assume it's easy to hack into.

I hope the group behind this is willing to keep translating the PSP games, at the very least.

A lot of the things in that list are things that not only we've seen before, but in specific WAYS that we've seen them before, like with X and Turn A being together again, and various other things that are just giving me Z flashbacks. Your only really limited by your own imagination, so why just repeat what the other games have done? There's a LOT of post apocalyptic mech shows to pool from, and normally don't get a lot of use just because that setting doesn't get used in mainline games. Innocent Venus, The Third, maybe even a few Visual Novels, I dunno, surprise me a little, cause I'm not really getting a whole lot of that from this. Aside from Mega Man.

It's one of the few things I'll praise K for, it tried to do crazy things with it's cast. I won't say it worked out EXTREMELY well with that one but I'll give it credit for trying.
>>
>>14744310
I like the backstory tying in that the GxS/Zoids Genesis/King Gainer world got, plot wise it was one of K'a best moments.

Too bad about everything else.
>>
>>14744140
Playing this with almost no knowledge of any of the shows was a ride. My only exposure was early UC stuff, so imagine my surprise when I discovered what Usso's last attack did.
>>
>>14744310
Adding to this, tossing in Casshern would help, since its setting SCREAMS post-apoc, and it influenced Mega Man.
>>
Well shit, guess who has to replay Demonbane again so that he can write the plot properly? Properly being a relative term. A full script dump would have been nice to have.

Man I would really kill for a "plot and source material consultant" of sorts now that I'm using a handful of series with a more established plot progression instead of easy to fudge literally whos.

But given what I'm using, I'm fairly certain the only other person who could write it is sadly TE Spoiler Guy

(Route A sure has great gender balance going on)
>>
>>14744310
There's quite a few that I did think about adding like Cross Angem Gargantia, Symphogear, King Gainer and Zoids New Century Zero for example. But I passed them up for X which I admit is there mostly for route split fodder than anything. As the main series that carry plot Gundam wise are G and Turn A.

I left out a lot of visual novels mostly because I'm not familiar with the material so I'm kind of limited in that aspect.

With regards to overall setting, I didn't want to go completely into the usual post-apoc SRW stuff that everyone goes for. Its more a time loop thing (Turn A, Big O, Linebarrels and KnM), why I didn't add Demonbane is a result of me only knowing about the anime as the VN is eternally on my backlog.
>>
>>14744354
>Well shit, guess who has to replay Demonbane again so that he can write the plot properly?

Yeah, I know that feeling.
>>
>>14744111
Different anon but I'm looking at Akurasu and it says you need to deploy Daitarn 3 in a very late game stage to get the extra pilots, its only for one stage though, and also does anyone know Sanger's requirements? Cause they're not on Akurasu
>>
>>14744372
Be on Hard mode is essentially how you get Sanger.
>>
>>14744364
You can add series into a list without having seen them yet. You don't have to write out the entire plot as soon as you write the list. Just put it there and make it as a reminder to do so relatively soon. That's how I did my list with Xenosaga. I needed an excuse to go through all 3 again and it was painful until game 3 but I did it. There's a few other things this method got me to sit down with like Expelled from Paradise, Gunparade March and Godzilla against Mechagodzilla. And playing White Knight Chronicles. Both of them. That was not a fun experience but I did them too.

Point being, if you have a basic plot synopsis and a general idea of where the series heads, don't be afraid to put it in a list. A list is something you work off of, not the be all end all.
>>
>>14744372
Basically just be on Hard Mode and kill him at one point where you can either kill him or let him flee really late in the game IIRC.

I swear that used to be on akurasu... let me check the SRW wiki real quick.

>>
>>14744395
My biggest problem is less the list and more what do I take from each series and how I cross them over I don't end up doing things like SRC X to X where you go through every little aspect of one series but on the other hand completely gloss over the others.
>>
>>14744441
It's a balance issue, and it's not one with an easy answer. In the end, the best way to do things is perhaps to mix series places, so you can have the events happen at the same time or very close to each other. UX loved that - the base where Mark Sein was held was also that place where the ELS attacked (disguised) to get at Soma and Allelujah, the hidden ninja village from Tobikage was also Soubi's village, that sort of thing.

1) What's the exact order that Demonbane acquires its abilities? I think it was Atlach-Nacha first and I think I remember that the Anime version switched Atlantis Strike and Lemuria Impact for no reason but that's all I remember.

2) How the heck do you try to tie the Metatron/Sandalphon thing to the plot without it seeming so disjointed from everything else.

>>
>>14744542
>What's the exact order that Demonbane acquires its abilities?

Starts with punches, vulcans, and Lemuria Impact (which it needed permission to use)
Then
Unlocks Atlach-Nacha, and then Atlantis Strike (As well as Timaeus and Criteaus) , in that order in the same fight.
Then the Mirror of Nitocris
Kurou learns how to use the Magical Dousing Device and getsScimitar of Barzai, in that order.
Then Cthugha (Giant ball of light that melts most of Demonaben and Innsmouth. Only used once.)
Then Cthugha (First Spell Weapon form. Barely lasts a single shot before going crazy. Only used once)
Then Cthugha and Ithiqua (After getting Tyrant's Spell Weapons)
Al Azif crafts God-Beast Shells (Kurou can make these too). Think of them as a MAP version of Cthugha and Ithiqua
Lemuria Delay Impact
Demonbane can use the Mirror of Nitocris to summon a giant maze of mirrors.
Loses Al, gets Elsa. No changes beyond losing any Magic based attacks.
Gets Al back and Shantak on Demonbane. Can regenerate damage, including lost limbs
Gets a Skeleton Key from Ruri. Doesn't need her permission to activate the Lemuria Impact now (Also, in the VN, the Skeleton Key was literally a grotesque Skeleton Key. The anime had Ruri kiss Kurou and magic the power into him)
Decides to use the Mirror of Nitocris as Anti-Beam Coating, uses Atlach-Nacha as a garrote, uses Atlantis Tornado Strike
Shining Trapezohederon (finally controls it against Nero)
Spell Helix
Final Shining Trapezohederon

That's Al's route. Ruri's route, he gets a weird multi-colored Lotus barrier he uses once and never again.

>How the heck do you try to tie the Metatron/Sandalphon thing to the plot without it seeming so disjointed from everything else.

All you need to do is put in some drama with the reveal of Metatron's identity during the attack on Arkham and a fight with Sandalphon before you enter the Illusory Heart Mother. That's all that's important. The rest of Leica's route is an irrelevant hijacking of the plot.

The "Final" Shining Trapezohederon occurs when the one absorbs the other.
For all intents and purposes, Final should be the upgraded version of the attack and replace the regular Shining Trapezohederon, but whatever.

No, but a lot of its attacks have B Sky and that needs fixed. At the very least its Funnels are A Sky - that's not common, by the way, Alpha 1 and Gaiden absolutely hate you using high tier UC units in atmosphere and while 1 was a lot of space, Gaiden has literally like 3 stages of it and all on route splits - but its best P moves all are B Sky. And in Alpha Gaiden, a game where Hi Nu only gets 800 power at max upgrades (this is why Nu HWS is better, it gets 1000 which means it slightly outpaces Hi, not to mention it's a part pack so the Nu can be upgraded earlier), you need every bit of damage possible.

As an aside, if you want a personal recommendation for a Real for a UC person, look into Harry Ord's Gold Sumo. Not only does it work perfectly well in every environment and have a much better weapon upgrade tier (the one in the middle, after the 800 and 1000 one), and not only is it able to fly, but its finisher actually starts out higher than Hi Nu at a solid 3500, and its weapons are cheaper! It has EN issues though.

Giving matt any credit is your first mistake.

@G isn't nearly as bad about it as @1. The roster feels less bloated overall (and thus less units to spend money on), weapons aren't nearly so taxing thanks to all of them upgrading at once, and @1 was 'balanced' around the fact that it had a Pocketstation tie-in minigame that you could play for unlimited funds.

>They're lucky they let you use Funnels on Earth stages at all, really.

Alpha Gaiden is in the low 40s in stage count, Alpha 1 is in the high 60s.

If you thought @1 was bad about cash, you're in for a treat. Also, as memory serves, getting an actual adaptor in Alpha Gaiden requires majorly modifying a unit before selling it (the sale gives no money, instead giving a different currency) so that's more money you're out.

Your memory doesn't serve very well then, since I remember getting terrain parts quite often and I never did that 'sell a maxed unit' trick.

Yeah, the A Adapter. You can get Dustproofings and the like, but Hi Nu has two part slots, so assuming you gave it Dustproofing and a Minovsky Drive (because eh, six movement and most of your squad is already flight capable Supers anyway) that still doesn't do things like help its mobility against the more accurate enemies in the game, or help its Accuracy - which is always a nice thing for units who's pilots may not have Strike.

Bazaar unlocks like 13~ stages in, you'll see it when you get there.
>>
>>14744905
...then give it one part or the other, depending on your needs. Not every unit has to do everything perfectly; you DO have more than one deployment slot.

>>14744904
You can sell units at the Bazaar for Blue Stones, and if you max upgrade one you get a whack of special parts for it.
>>
>>14744904
You'll get access to a Bazaar after Stage... like, 10 or so? Fairly early in the game. In this Bazaar you can buy and sell certain units for Blue Stones (it's a Xabungle thing if you haven't seen Xabungle, but if that's the case, go see Xabungle).

If they have any maxed out bars of upgrades you get a special part. If you have 4 you get an A Adaptor - no S Adaptor, S ranks didn't exist until like Alpha 2 I think - and if you have 5 you get some pretty ridiculous stuff but I think the A Adaptor gets lost.
>>
>>14744904
AG let's you sell units (I think it's just Gundam, and Xabungle grunts, don't remember if it applied to something else) anyway, you could sell a maxed out unit, and you would receive special parts that could only be obtained by maxing out a stat.

The best unit for this was a Caprico that can be obtained by recruiting Tron (not impossible to get, but she'll die really fast unless you kill all the enemies as soon as possible), since the unit is nearly maxed out.

Secondly, I never claimed any of the series presented in the list were dull themselves, just the presentation of the list. Big O, Turn A, X, SKL and Manga Linebarrels are super fresh in most players minds still (manga Linebarrels less so but you get the idea) and I just didn't feel it was very creative. >>14744927
Zeta's not only been done to death in the older games, but had a really good showing in the same game that GX, Turn A, Big O, and Gravion last mattered at all. Sorry if I got you mixed up with the other asshole, I suppose it's all opinions, but I seriously disagree.

I guess the Z sequels souring people on the shows that were forced to stick around and not contribute isn't helping. Seriously, it's amazing watching people complain about Turn A or GX 'being everywhere' (not specifically you) despite how little it even existed in SRW beforehand.

Maybe SKL, but I haven't had a chance to play the 3DS games and they barely have any plot to begin with, don't they?
>>
>>14744965
SKL's had its plot covered once, in UX. Said plot finished rather early though, although I seem to remember mooks from the show being in a really late stage.

BX was post-ending and saw one of the villains revived by Dr. Hell, and its backstory got intrinsically tied to Shin Mazinger, while SKL's two pilots ended up in Byston Well for the middle portion of Dunbine offscreen. (Which is kind of ironic in a way, since the Zwarth and Burn worked for SKL villains in UX, and now the SKL heroes work with the good guys from Dunbine a game later.)
>>

>>14745003
SKL has more plot than what you're giving it credit for. You should actually watch it before you try to generalize it.
>>
>>14745003
The thing about SKL's plot is that once it starts, it's very difficult to justify the entire cast suddenly leaving the island. I forget how UX had it happen even (I'd say "got thrown to Byston Well", but the stage everyone gets sent to Byston Well for happens later, it involves Bakuryu combining for the first time and a bit of Dancouga Nova stuff on top of Wings of Rean starting which is neat.

The actual pilots of SKL get involved in a lot more stuff though, and Yuuki too. Like, in BX she ends up piloting your transport for the early stages of the game, before you get the Nadesico and Diva.

Also it had like four stages dedicated almost entirely to its plot in UX, none of which were on route splits, and had events from other things tied to it like Dunbine, Miku, and the OGs (Richard is both taken out of action and killed in events related to SKL). That's not so bad.

It's in their nature, VF. We take our giant robot crossovers seriously. To think all of this started just because one anon asked if people would play a cast list.

>>14744965
I've always found these kinds of lists as a wonderful way of getting people into new things, because we're not limited in anything we do for them. I've never had anything against any of the series that might honestly be lacking a full telling of their plots in a full game, but I feel like branching out a bit would make it that much more interesting alongside the things we've come to know, expect and love in the games. I've since subscribed to the Eternal mindset where things that deserve more recognition get more limelight, which then gets more people asking questions about it and how it fits and gets more people into new things, which in turn adds more material for people to be accustomed to. I'll freely admit a lot of those haven't had the full story that they probably deserve but I'll freely admit Z wore out it's welcome on a number of shows for me. I'll never find any of them bad because of that, but it still gives me an aversion to seeing anything from it for a while. I'm still using Gundam X in mine, I don't care about that, but I digress.

No, the most important thing is to write.

Write, and write, and write.

Write on paper, write on chalk boards, write on walls, write on every single cardboard box you have, and then write on your computer until you're left with a file that's the size of 1080p 1988 anime film filled with enough grain to feed this planet for centuries.

The most important thing is to

Keep Yourself Alive.

>>
>>14745082
Ah, but VF, that's how you know you've got something good.

When you write the good ideas, they come together. When you write the bad ones, they either have parts missing, in which case you fix them and get good ones, or fall apart, in which case you stop writing about them and focus on the good ones.

OG1 and 2 aren't fan translated, they're actual physical translations released for money.

J was a fan translation, and is the only other GBA game with such things (though R and D have menu patches, R has a literal - and very unintentional - gamebreaking glitch, and D's... well D's is actually alright as memory serves.). Google came up with it immediately though.

Legitimately one of the worst games in the franchise. It's not quite to the level of, say, OE or Shin, but you could put in an argument about things like K - it may have screwed the pooch entirely on plot, but at least K can be made fucking fun to play.

i just told you i'm new to the series and you compare games to me like i know shit! hahaha
>>
>>14745200
But it theoretically can be made fun. That's a thing you can do with K. That's not really a thing you can do with 2.

>>14745207
Basically 2's just bad. The early game requires a lot of strict work in making sure the right people get EXP and the wrong people that leave you permanently don't, made annoying by the fact that you also have to focus on keeping everyone alive, and the game's plot is... calling it barebones is an insult to the term. And then after a while you get Cybuster and just Cyflash your way to mostly victory.

Also it has a bunch of secrets and all of them leave you within three stages after getting them, making getting them in the first place totally pointless. Except for one that you get later. That one stays and eventually gets a great unit... unless you go for another secret, in which case she dies and is replaced with a shittier version.

>roll a gatcha
>get another gatcha

Now that's an odd feeling. Gonna be a lot of tiny things running around here with Raiden, the Oscar units and Vanquish. Lot of odd little things I don't quite recognize but are definitely making me interested in crafting.

>Wizard Barristers

Having it and Active Raid in the same game sounds interesting as hell from a plot standpoint. Kamen Rider X's G.O.D. feels like it could be omnipotent enough to orchestrate some of the crimes seen in Active Raid and maybe be semi related to Mothra, and on the flip side we have a very literal gray zone with M3 and maybe having some various monsters like those from Godannar and Dyna coming from that. This one's a bit more of a clusterfuck than I'm usually used to. Wasn't Ikaruga's plot mostly about Japanese mythology? I remember what little I know of it being very mythical in nature. And then you end up in deep space with stuff like Captain Earth, Thunderbolt, Blassty, Vanquish and Votoms. I didn't even know Soul Taker counted as /m/.

>Gaia Gear and Thunderbolt happening at the same time

Nope, screw this, I'm out.
>>
>>14745371
Always fun to see you attempt to make something out of the massive pile of madness you roll, anon. You seem pretty well-versed in a lot of the stuff in the rolls, even with all the obscure stuff that stumps even you.

Also why the eject button when Gaia Gear and Thunderbolt happen together?
>>
>>14745389
Because Thunderbolt is at the very beginning of UC, you know, with Char, Amuro and everybody else (I think? Thunderbolt is weird about canon) and Gaia Gear is, at least theoretically at the very end, complete with literal Char clones running around. So someone would have had to clone Char right when he was born and then just let the clone loose onto the world and not tell anyone about for no reason whatsoever and ow that actually hurt to think about.
>>
>>14745244
Are they really not going to have any form of dungeon exploration whatsoever? Even Unlimited had Board Game Walking mode
>>
>>14745392
Ah, surely there's some sort of science or magic or "accelerated aging" to bullshit something like that into some type of existence. You usually know a thing or two about the Kamen Riders in each roll, maybe there's a Kamen Rider who can fix that detail.

Thanks for the explanation, though. Not knowing much about Thunderbolt or Gaia Gear, I needed it.
>>
>>14745371
>I didn't even know Soul Taker counted as /m/.
Well it's about as /m/ as Devilman, which itself was an option in a "series you'd like to see in SRW" survey released with one of the games.
>>
>>14745402
Not in the ones I got this roll, at least. At most, I've got riders 1, 2, V3 and X, since I think all of them showed up in X, and all of them are very down to Earth when it comes to power levels. Most Showa riders are, except Black RX because fuck you King Stone Magic. Despite this, however, we have actual magic in this world with Wizard Barristers and fricking Mothra and all it's mystical shit, so really, "fairy dust" is an actual legitimate answer.

>>14745408
>it's about as /m/ as Devilman

Well, it's all in good, nonsensical fun anyway. Even being on the list doesn't mean you'd have to use the plot, you could just as easily BS that one series is in there to give a mech to the character from the other.

Now whether Gaia Gear's main would benefit from getting a Thunderbolt mech or vice versa would be the better option, I don't know.

Feel free to roll a Familiar Faces, or any other kind of roll, really, if you want to try for something more cohesive.
>>
>>14745425
That's true, I'll freely admit having one or two post script series isn't a bad thing with a list like that. Just to keep the story from imploding upon itself, really.

That's...better, at least. Sort of. We've got a Britanian army going through war with rebels, multiple alien species all invading Earth, some more successful than others (the thought of Britiania and the Doron Empire ruling the world together is a terrifying thought) and racial profiling with Naturals and Coordinators, complete with Beastmen controlling some backwater continent eventually culminating in a massive showdown of galactic proportions. Neat.

Also, quick question with these familiar faces rolls: Do they include the stuff from the Tokusatsu Taisen games or is that too "out there" for them to be considered familiar?" I don't mind either way, I was just curious. Especially if I end up rolling Black RX one day and then we'll have a wonderful discussion on what is essentially the Zeorymer of Toku.
>>
>>14745449
How did Super Tokusatsu Taisen even deal with having Daitetsujin 17, Giant Robo and the Ultras alongside the human size characters?

I saw a video and it was like all the giants were 3000+ hp with similar damage values for attacks, while the humans only had like 50-60.
>>
>>14745446
Where can I find them?
>>
>>14745451
It's pretty much two separate modes, with the human sized characters fighting on one field with very small stats, and the giant ones fighting on a separate one with the standard SRW stats. I don't think they interacted gameplay wise at all, but I could be wrong.
>>
>>14745449
Whatever the cohesion of the series, you can't say it wouldn't be an interesting game to play. (Are the Doron Empire the Mechander Robo guys? I was going to make an offhand comment about how you could finally give Trider some plot, too, I don't think it's had any for a while now)

I never really thought of that, honestly. I suppose technically I could count it for those who'd want it, though I don't know the full list of series Tokusatsu Taisen includes to use as reference.

Though in this case the only thing that would have changed in your roll, I think, is that you'd trade out Golion for Ultra Seven.
>>
>>14745451
>How did Super Tokusatsu Taisen even deal with having Daitetsujin 17, Giant Robo and the Ultras alongside the human size characters?
>I saw a video and it was like all the giants were 3000+ hp with similar damage values for attacks, while the humans only had like 50-60.
Essentially the giants are going to fight other giants while the small people fight each other. Most small units literally cannot attack giants unless they have a weapon that can specifically do so - I think it was Shaider or something who was one of the rare human unit with a big fuck-off gun to shit on giants.

On the other hand, I think Giants CAN attack small units, but tend to have bad accuracy penalties against them, which leads to really silly scenarios where you can hold an enemy giant in place by surrounding them with 4 Riders on each adjacent squares and just dodging because apparently they can't move past things that are supposed to be smaller than them.
>>
>>14745457
If I recall, interaction was pretty minimal. Some human-sized units, like Ultraman soldiers, I think, would have some moves, like bazookas, that would have the inflated stats because they're used exclusively on giant mooks, and if I recall Giant Robo only functions so long as you kept the little kid within a certain range of him.

Master Asia / On-foot Domon / Alberto is technically earlier but you never keep them for anything more than guests.
>>

>I think Tekkaman Blade was the first unit you got to keep permanently that was an SS-sized human, wasn't it?

Yeah, J was the first time we got an honest to goodness permanent human sized character. It more or less changed the rules, too, as it opened up the gates for a lot of things, both in the powered armor stuff and human sized mechs. It's probably the reason we got stuff like Iczer and Votoms down the line altogether.

Also Alpha 1 which also didn't remember that the Angels aren't attracted to the Eva Units which makes the Gendo "hey go with Londo Bell so you can lure them away" plan kinda silly

ok i'm playing srw og 1 for the gba and...
how the fuck am i supposed to fucking bring my grandson below 70% for the battle mastery on chapter 36 of kyosuke's route when the nigger dampens damage like a mother fucker?
>>

I'm pretty sure intentionally bringing your grandson's health down constitutes a crime in most countries.

>>

nvm managed to do it

W still did it the best, since the Archangel crew was off on their own when they needed to be to make the drama work out better, and in the meantime we got the Astray crew, so everyone won.
>>
Why are Alpha 1's renditions of pretty much every song so best?
>>
>>14745414
It did, but it was clear they ran out of budget in the first ep and the writers couldn't write for shit.
>>
>>14745643
Alphas 1 and Gaiden have a really nice sound, don't they. I wish I could rip the soundfont or something.
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifaEr6u77M4
Shit, I totally forgot Alpha 1 had this song. Kinda weird how they made it the default Mazinger Z song for 2 and 3.

I mean, it's neat that they decided to change it up a bit, but I'd had hoped that they'd at least have the Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger OPs as options for Alpha 3, y'know?
>>
>>14745693
At least that song showed up again. I don't recall this song appearing outside @1, and then just as the Pilder's theme:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iu9DpNN8iBo
>>
>>14745703
It was used for Sayaka and Boss in Alpha 3 and as the Mazinger Z units' theme for A and AP, I think.
>>
>>14745706
Odd, I don't remember that in @3 at all. Otherwise I'd have set it to everyone in the Mazinger and Getter teams.

A and AP I never could get into, so.
>>

Definitely in there, my man.

>>
>>14745714
Damn. What I get for never watching that thing's attacks, I guess.

The sound quality on it sounds kind of awful compared to @1's, though. Or is that just the video quality?

It's the song.
I think Alpha 3 generally has pretty good music, but a few songs are kind of lousy and this is one of them.

Did the Unicorn guy do the animations for Lancelot and Guren? I think they've got a similar feel to them.

One very heavily customizeable.
Current plan is to make pilots able to die ( usually when mech explodes, or due to specific attacks that target the pilot ), with the protagonist being exception. Where he goes to hospital, other go to morgue.

Then again, it is perhaps not a 'fangame' in strict sense.

Speaking of which, I can't find any media of Ultraman Zest, aka that final boss from Super Hero Operation with Euzeth, whatever.

Anyone here bothered with taking sample for one of the charts?

I can't find Natora's exact height anywhere, but Yurika is 5'5"/166 cm.

"Botched attempt at perspective" might be the case

UX handled Tyrant about the same as the Anime, but with a few differences.

In both the anime and UX, Nero was at Innsmouth and gave Kurou Cthugha and Ithiqua (Kurou wasn't aware of who they were from or even how he got it, and he didn't have her Spell Weapons, so he just shot them from Demonbane's palms).
Now, afterwords in the anime, it followed the VN from then on and had Tyrant being chased by the Black Lodge and a hobo-Nero found and taken in by Kurou and then Nero got "killed" by debris. Afterwords, Kurou gets angry and tames Cthugha and Ithiqua, with Nero giving Kurou her Spell Weapons.
In UX, Nero gave Demonbane Cthugha and Ithiqua with no strings attached, her guns included, at Innsmouth, where she was also found and taken in (Not sure what her excuse was to the team for being there, though you can imagine she probably pretended to be a victim of the Deep Ones). Later on, when Zaboom attacks the city, Nero is "killed" when Grathan and the C-Terahertz crash on top of her.

Has anyone ever translated the manual for the Astranagant model kit? I'm wondering what the hell Axion Cannon and Infinity Cylinder really do.

Nothing on the Axion Cannon, though.

I heard this blabber from an SRW Encyclopedia thing or hearsay years ago before the kit was released. Are you pulling my leg here?

That's what it says in the manual.

I'm hype.

Even if it doesn't come out in English, the overall game looks to be streamlined in such a way that I could go through it easily.
