***READ THE GUIDE***
For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions, as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here!
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

Old thread: >>14626557
Do we want a edgelord group build in the vein of >>14631468 and >>14629374 ?
OK last topic ended with good question(is HG Neo Zeong worth the price), but I will change it.
PG Unicorn or HG Neo Zeong?
I wonder how many /m/en are /k/ommandos as well.
>>14634035
I'd be down for it. I've got a Crossbone Maoh lying around that I could kitbash with something, and I'd love to see people try to out-edge one another.
>>14634035
Ehh why not. I got a snapfitted Grimgerde and some pla-plates ready for some edgy customizing. Wouldn't need to do much really.
>>14634101
I saw 2 other gunpla builders about a week ago on /k/. Probably not many tho
>>14634035
Have you guys done a boxing theme build yet?
Or how about Olympic athletes since the games are going on?
>>14634147
Could do a country theme similar to G gundam but I was thinking the edge build might be a good halloween-ish idea.
>>14634152
I MIGHT be willing to throw in a fitting special drawing prize for entrants.
Something like the skull massacre or beast sword weapon set.
/toy/ group builds always do better when there's a prize.
>>14634152
I just want to see a water polo themed MS.
There;s also this.
https://imgur.com/a/KKSYh#OPrxdHL
>>14634192
You could split an atom with that edge
>>14634192
I hope we get some edge comparable to that should the group-build happen.
I'm ready.
>>14634101
reporting. collecting both funs and gunpla/figures.
>only /mk/ pic I have related atm
>>14634261
also have this I guess, me playing with an Enfield I got a few months back
>>14634192
That's some pretty edgy shit, but I'll admit that Scythe is pretty fucking awesome and looks like something off a Metal Album Cover
Is there a reason my package got stuck in Louisiana?
>>14634373
I would call the post office.
I chopped off this piece of my GM Command's leg without planning out what I was going to do with the part because I'm a retard
Any ideas on what I can put inside to make it look good? I don't have plaplate
>>14634373
heh
>>14634396
Boosters from some other kit.
>>14634396
You.can use the inside tubes of a cheap plastic.pen to mimic hydraulics
>>14634396
>>14634459
Was about to put the same thing
Here'd a back view to help >>14634396
MG Tallgeese, need to get a stand for this cause it's damn near impossible to pose and have it stand without falling.
Any of you fellows have decent line art of the Origin Zaku II?
>>14634469
>>14634459
>>14634433
>>14634407
Alright, I'll try that
I've still got the kit runners left so maybe I can do something with those too
Bonus towards an Edgelord group build.
You get to write your own cringe backstory for the MS and the pilot.
>>14634287
It and the head are from the "Skull Massacre" Kotobukiya MSG set. >>14634162
>>14634533
That is some shiny ass silver
Just finished this, it was such a fun kit.
What was the last thing you guys built?
>>14634668
Like the one I almost wrote for Red Cliff's pilot?
Here are some bullet points I remember
>wears black to show his soul is shrouded in shadows
>wears a red cloak cause cloaks are awesome and it's red to symbolize all the blood he's spilled
>facial tattoos are awesome!
>has a cat instead of a bird cause cats are superior predators, like himself.
>drinks and smokes cause that's what adults do and he's an adult!
I'm ashamed I even remembered that, after all these years.
After ages of searching I finally managed to find the broken end of my V-fin
Now for reattaching it, would I be okay using glue, or would I be better off in buying some plastic cement?
>>14634916
Always plastic sement.
Always.
>>14634932
>sement
>>14634932
Not that anon, but I'm in a similar situation.
Is it safe to just slap some cement on the break and hope it holds? The piece is too small to go drilling holes to pin it.
>>14634945
lewd
>>14634880
In the process of a Psycho Zaku. I actually finished the snap fit, but working through detailing now. That's a good looking Gouf.
>>14634948
Yes. Cause the cement bonds the plastic together.
>>14634945
H-honest typo! Honest!
>>14634948
it's actually not too small, you simply need a small enough drill bit.
You COULD throw on some plastic cement and hope it holds well enough but it probably won't hold weight nearly as well as a pin.
>>14634950
You're a good looking Gouf.
Psycho Zaku is a fun build too. Careful when you put it up on display, if it falls, you'll be losing plenty of those tiny thrusters forever. I had to learn that the hard way.
>>14634973
>V fin
>holding weight
>>14634953
>>14634973
Alright, I'll just pick up some cement and hope it stays, it won't be doing much moving anyway.
>>14635008
It's an antenna more than a v-fin. It attaches to the head, just behind the cockpit there.
>>14635007
I already lost a few during the build process, but I made it work.
>>14635008
Hey man I saw a clear base thing, I thought he hamhanded one of it's components, I don't know what the hell it's supposed to be.
>>14635099
Wow, you have me pegged.
The piece snapped as I was turning the kit around to apply some stickers. I wasn't nearly as careful as I should have been.
Continuing work on my gunsiper. ! What does it mean /m/?
>Still no MG G-Reco
>Still no MG Kapool
pls bandai
Went to GundamPlanet today, here's the haul.
>>14635193
>Sazabi
Enjoy your handgrenade.
>>14634101
There are dozens of us! Dozens!
>>14635121
It's an easy mistake to make on any given day, I made a similar mistake on one of the Mega Shiki's leg pieces. I was having fun with the posing and I went a bit too far without noticing how much force was going on it. Broke one of the legplates. Took the other one off to match, but it's not a big deal because I display it from the front anyway. Still though, feel like an idiot when I think about it.
>>14635008
its probably more sturdy than a homunculus
>>14635207
here's your >(you)
>>14635232
I don't understand
It looks exactly like how I expected it to.
http://blog.kenbill.com/?eid=947
>>14635230
Hey! Babies are heavy, okay?
Anybody know if there are decent replacement eye decals for FAGs?
I'd just feel safer knowing I have some room to fuck up
>>14635242
Decided to do some weathering on the kit, now that the white has set for a few days. Did a first pass with aluminum paint, and I'll go for a black next. Might do a diorama for it, which means I'll probably add some dirt marks down the line.
>>14635246
I don't know what you could fuck up since the eyes come pre-applied. So it's not an issue unless you're changing its skin color, in which case it comes with another set of decals.
And if you still need decals on that of that, the brand HiQ Parts makes several sets of anime girl eye details that work perfectly on FAGs.
>>14635243
What the fuck is that man
Why does it have three whole fucking sticker sheets
>>14635250
Am I missing something?
>>14635257
I paint to get a matte finish. I know they come with a couple extras, but I just have poor luck with objects delicate enough to be destroyed with an involuntary twitch.
Also I saw some of the recent hiq parts offerings but they looked a little more moe than my liking, also I wasn't sure if 1/12 was quite the right size since I know nothing about doll scales.
Oh my god I am a fucking idiot.
>haven't painted anything in a while
>get on a gunpla kick after trying out the MG Jesta
>decide to at least try panel lining ans top coating them
>go with Tamiya accent color cause it is recommended everywhere ovef gundam markers
>try it out on Freedom 2.0 and the Jesta instead of the 1/100 Barbatos
>panel lining and cleaning with enamel thinner damp cotton swab goes fine
>...wait why is the v-fin on the freedom droopy I didnt drop it
>w-wait why is it disintegrated as soon as I touch it
>why are bits falling off
>discover the hard way that enamel thinner especially just eats through plastic
>used black color pn white bits of freedom so it doesn't even look good
Holy shit I am such a fucking retard. The bits and pieces that fell off are at least easy to glue on. But the V-fin is DEAD.and the worst part is that somehow it also got through my Jesta. An arm peg just melted and the waist is destroyed. AND I LOVED THAT KIT.
>>14635242
sorry, meant for >>14635196
>>14635284
just call it weathering and post pics
the plebs here will praise your good work
>>14635287
Oh, carry on. Hell, even my RG Zaku isn't a 'hand grenade' like people meme about here.
>>14635271
Well like I said, it comes with another set of eyes on the waterslide, specifically for people like you.
1/12 is the perfect size for FAGs but if you don't like the HiQ parts ones I don't know if there's other options. I think after that all you have left, is that the Gigantic Arms 01 seems to come with a sheet.
http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=TOY-RBT-4079&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dgigantic+arms%24pagemax%3D40%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1
>>14635293
Fuck that i will get eaten alive
i will die with my shame
>>14635284
the tamiya stuff uses stronger thinner, like most actual enamels so that'll happen.
just use lighter fluid, its a bit weaker and shouldn't do that. made the same mistake of using too much on bare plastic when i first started washing
>>14635307
Take a photo, faggot. I want to see.
>>14635284
You've learned two lessons today son, enamel thinner eats plastic and test on your runners.
I hope you take that to heart when you build Jesta II
>>14635297
unfortunately most of the extra eyes on that sheet are winking, sad or rape eyes...
im looking at some of the older hiq's but they have these thick long eyelashes
I think they were designed for goth lolis or something
>>14635284
at least it wasn't a jesta cannon. nothing of value was lost
>>14635325
Yeah but two sets of those eyes are normal eyes. Including the ones that come with the FAG that's three tries. It's good enough.
Also
>he doesn't want to give his FAG rape eyes
I was under the assumption that you
>Gloss coat
>panel line
Is this only true if doing a panel wash?
I'm panel lining with gundam markers, and the marker just keeps drying out so I have to scribble on scratch paper to get the ink again.
picked up an HG Kimaris trooper today. Any issues I should know about so I can fix them as I go?
>>14635242
>>14635196
Usually the people who call kits handgrenades are fat American autists with sausage fingers, dyspraxia, and Parkinsons who don't know how to move models or how much pressure and strength to apply when doing so.
>>14635307
Just post it inr/gunpla. It's a hugbox. No one will make fun of you there.
>>14635337
The panel lining gundam markers?
You don't really need a gloss coat for them, unless you've painted the plastic underneath
>>14635349
but autists are better at building toys than anyone
>>14635373
Well shit. I know that next time
>>14634052
PG Unicorn obviously. The Neo Zeong is a giant brick with next to no features and High Grade engineering.
>>14635252
That looks ridiculously thick and in no way subtle, anon.
Still a WIP, but it seems the the more I progress though it, the more it screams "Oh dear god please get this shit off me."
>>14635349
The guy's just trolling. The thing about the sazabi is for the RG anyways. If anything, the MG is a brick
Got me a base jabber.
>>14635340
No. It's just a great kit.
I'm building a sniper II and I'm really surprised at how nice it is
What are my options for satin topcoat besides Tamiya flat base + Future or Vallejo's satin varnish?
I don't recall Krylon ever having such things.
>>14635494
satin or matte
>>14635493
Too bad it can't hold its own gun due to them cheaping out on the joints. I mean yeah, one of the easiest mods out there, but still, this is something that you shouldn't have to do..
>>14635388
I agree with you there. I'd try and thin the paint out, but would only end up getting more on there. But, can't learn anything without trying and failing. after the black, I'll go back in with white and paint over things a bit. I'd like to ask, however, which areas are more acceptable so I know what to aim for as I go. I know the thighs will have more scratches since the beam cannons/rail guns would rub up against it.
>>14635297
i missed these as hiq's naming scheme seems to be completely random
8 sets of angry eyes, and lots more regular ones
>>14635494
These are the two satin finishes that I can readily get.
Your opinions?
>>14635551
Oh, I assumed you had seen those and didn't like them because they were too moe.
There's another set that's also got sharper eyes. Anyway glad it worked out for you.
>>14635556
You generally want to stay away from Krylon because it tends to go on very thick. Don't know about Liquitex.
>>14635576
I haven't figured out how to get results properly with Krylon, because even at six inches away it's not going right. Either there's no paint landing on the surface, or paint splatters onto the surface because I inched it close enough.
How do you guys do it with Krylon?
>>14635589
you sound like you're spraying in very humid and hot temps. I've sprayed krylons uv matte and had okay results, its definitely thicker and less smooth then tamiya or mr super clear but it works okay
If you're the anon asking about varnish and satins I don't know anything about them, satin paint looks like shit on most models
>>14635589
Nobody uses krylon paint except fags who enjoy shit looking finishes
Also lol at the loser ITT trying to clear coat bare plastic
>>14634101
It's something
>>14635643
Post a pic of the Dom shotty.
>>14635337
Why are you putting gloss clear coat on unpainted plastic just to use gundam markers
Just use the markers directly on the plastic wtf
you guys are retarded
>>14635667
Well, I had waterslides coming on next. It's whatever. I'm gonna finish up, apply slides, and give it a final coat.
>>14634021
i need to retake that picture with some actual silver colored bullets.
>>14635692
>60gr 10mm
>2400 fps
good god
Newbie painter. I suck senpai.
>>14635708
Mostly just on the hand, but the rest looks really solid.
>>14635700
For us nogunsicans, what does that mean exactly?
Is it impressive? Is it not impressive?
>>14635734
10milimeeter is a pretty uncommon type of round. 60 grains is the ammount of powder in the round and 2400 feet per second is how fast it reavels.
>>14635734
like >>14635740 said 10mm is an uncommon and pricey caliber that is more powerful than pretty much every other handgun bullet besides large magnum rounds from huge revolvers.
grains(gr) is the weight of the bullet itself and fps is its velocity when leaving the barrel. 10mm is usually around 180gr at 1200fps, while smaller 9mm is 115gr at 1250fps out the barrel.
those bullets are 60gr at 2400fps, one third the weight but twice the speed of a normal bullet, closer to that a rifle round.
>>14635708
Looks like you've got some pretty bad orange peeling, but other than that, good job
If this sells we could get an abigorbine kit since it is the same concept right? Right?
>>14635643
>>14635651
>>14635915
shit just realized the action is half way back
>>14635915
Where can I get that shotgun?
Also more base jabber.
>>14634880
This
>>14635915
Dom and shotguns, good shit
>>14635929
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10239629
In my opinion the gun itself is rather large for your average 1/144 gunpla
>>14635959
Cool! Thanks for showing me this.
>>14635959
Looks good in Dom hands though.
>>14635397
There's a RG sazabi?
Does this mean my dream of finding love will also come true?
zaku I a qt
>>14636046
Fuck, I meant sinanju. I don't know how I got those two confused.
>>14636082
sweet fuck the Origin Zaku is such a quality fucking mold, it's impossible for it to look bad.
With/Without stickers, With/Without panel-lining, it looks good. Plus all that engineering.
I feel spoiled.
>>14636105
all of the origin zeon suits are amazing
>>14636174
Only problem I've had with mine is getting it into a good pose on the stand.
The connector it uses is such a bitch, it's basically impossible to pose it any way that isn't completely vertical.
I'm using it according to the booklet, but maybe I missed something.
WHEN IS THIS GLORIOUS MOBILE SUIT GETTING AN OFFICIAL MODEL KIT???
I read here that the Gyan is a good kit to practice on.
I've not built any plamo for months.
So is there some kind of warning list or something out there for kits made of explodium? I hate buying kits only to find out they're goddamn grenades that explode to bits the second I set them on a shelf, and it's a pain in the ass to have to hunt down a review of every single goddamn kit I want to buy so I'd rather just CTRL+F a goddamn list of "these will explode" kits.
>>14636305
You could just try and not be such a hamhand
>>14636305
They are model kits not toys
>>14634948
Buy 3 more ab2s and surround it for stability
>>14633920
it did get a kit though
>>14635284
How come I've never experienced this? Have used it on atleast 3 MGs without issue.
>>14635428I'm about to jab you in the face
>>14635708
the good thing about painting is if you aren't happy with the result you can just dunk the kit in 50% bleach 50% water and start all over again.
don't let this discourage you. keep practicing on this same kit till you get it down
>>14636305
oh shit, sup ham hands!
>>14634035
>>14634881
I'll nth the Edgelord build. Now to see what I can get which is sufficiently edgy.
>>14634880
I'm almost done with a MG Gundam 3.0. Just need to sticker and flatcoat.
>>14635284
I just bought the Tamiya black accent color and now I'm scared. Should I glosscoat my next kit 3 times before applying anything?
>>14636488
I THINK it's because of the thinner used to clean up the excess. Maybe.
>>14636499
Good thing I have a lot of sprues for testing. I wonder how badly it'll disintegrate?
Is Tamiya extra thin cement the best choice for repairing broken pieces?
How do you choose your gunpla?
Do you pick them based on aesthetic? On which series you like?
>>14636633
Series.
>>14636488
>>14636499
You just need to be careful with using it. Letting thinner pool will definitely cause problems. Maybe stick to lighter fluid for cleaning to be careful but always make sure you dont use too much.
>>14635898
The RD figures and gunpla are made by two seperate divisions of Bandai that don't really work together on things.
>>14636766
An example is how both the toys and hobby divisions had their own SD Gundam model kit lines in the mid-90s.
>>14636633
Both, they're pretty interchangeable.
It helps if I like the series, but some suits are just damn good even if the series wasn't too great to me. Which is also why I can get kits from series I'm unfamiliar with like basically any Astray, AGE suits, the Destiny Gundam.
Most common is by series though, I'll be watching and I'll see something that looks good, and then I'll look for a model of it.
>>14636633
I buy GMs
I haven't bought a new kit in so long
Fucking Bandai
>>14636799
good news friend, HGUC GM Ground Type
It's amazing how much better a matte finish can make a kit look. It's like night and day.
>>14636800
Wait what
Are you shitting me
Im working on a 1/100 barbatos and I want to paint it, and then battle damage it/weather it.
The problem is the frame has a lot of stacking parts, like tubes and pistons and shit. Would it be better to prime the parts all together as one frame or big chunks of the frame one by one.
>>14636810
How could you not have heard?
>>14636814
I don't keep track of what's going on in the hobby anymore, I got tired of constant disappointment and zeek shit.
I'm guessing it was discussed in the general, but yesterday was the first day I checked back in here after taking a long break from the hobby.
>>14636810
I'm glad I got to make your day, it was revealed at the recent expo.
Don't know if there's a tentative release date or anything though.
>>14636778
And how the hg double x and the RD double x came out within the same month despite that causing them to cannibalize sales from each other.
>>14636823
Oh man, that looks amazing.
Buddy you didn't just make my day, you made my whole year. I looked it up and all it says for a release date is 2017, kinda bummed that I've got to wait a long while before this comes out, but it still makes my soul feel good knowing that this exists.
Thanks, anon. Looks like I picked a good time to get back into the hobby.
>>14636823
Why are the knee cleats so short?
>>14636830
Anytime man I'm pretty hyped too, I love the heavier set jims and maybe we'll get a GM revive line.
Guncannon early type is pretty sweet looking too.
>>14636834
Dunno, but it's possible it's just a prototype mockup and that'll change during production.
>>14636836
I really hope this means we get a GM revive, yeah. And I REALLY hope this means they'll release the GM MSV's using the mold, even if it's P bandai.
And yeah, that's a really good looking Guncannon. I'll pick up one or two of those too. I'm so happy the feddie suits are finally getting more love and attention instead of just constantly shoving Zakus down our throats.
>>14636845
We got the Revive Guncannon and Origin Guntank. Those were really good too.
>>14636850
Oh nice, I'll definitely pick those up too. I loved the how the Guntank looked in the Origin manga.
Speaking of, I heard the Origin movies have only covered Char's backstory and has been nothing but Charwank. Will they stop after the Char arc or continue to animate the whole story? I'd love to see those origin GMs animated.
>>14636870
I dunno man I dropped it after the second one because it was just too much Charwank, and I hear the third is even worse. All I care about is that we get some sweet kits out of it.
The Origin Guntank in particular seems to be a fantastic but underrated kit. No one ever talks about it.
Look at this shit, what the fuck.
The Revive Guncannon is incredible too. Really simple build, looks amazing, and is sturdy.
>>14636876
I think there was a general consensus that the Early Guntank was phenomenal and then that's when it dropped out of conversation.
I haven't gotten mine yet, I got side tracked with some of the recent restocks and newer kits.
The fact that the revive Guncannon requires no stickers is a point no one mentions, it's such a good kit and it highlights the best parts of the Revive line.
>>14636876
Shit, that's some amazing articulation for a Guntank. I'm getting hype for gunpla all over again, I missed this feeling.
>>14636908
That's pretty amazing, I'm so glad there's so many good Feddie gunpla out now.
>>14636642
I've never had problems with accent color, I just dip the brush in the recess and let physics do the rest mostly, how much are people that's breaking shit pouring on?
Is the shitposter gone?
>>14636958
Pictureman been gone for a while. Our favorite Snapfitter is still here though.
>>14636920
No joke man, it's all pretty exciting. I can't wait to see what comes out next, because I don't think anyone was expecting a ground type. With the MSD variants coming out it's fair game anywhere. They're even doing a PBandai Waterproof Gundam.
What a world.
I'm curious, now that we're getting a ground GM, how about some love for this guy? All the parts for the gouf custom are already there, and it was featured prominently in the blu ray short for the series.
>tfw accidentally spilled orange juice on one of my kits
It's not gonna ruin the plastic, is it?
>>14637056
Just add water and you'll be fine.
>>14636971The guy who posts that IS the spammer. He always posts it nearly every thread.
>>14637062
I didn't see him in the last three, he's probably on vacation.
>>14637064
Maybe school finally started.
>>14636633
Does it look nice? Does it have a visor? If it fits one of those two conditions, then I'll buy it.
>>14636633
Mostly asthetic, but I usually buy the best from series that I've watched.
>>14637033
Holy shit, what?
Waterproof Gundam? I can understand the Ground Type Gundam, but this just feels like it's coming completely out of nowhere.
Not that I'm complaining, that's amazing. I'm a little turned off by the fact that it's p bandai and we'll end up paying at least double the price, but I can't be too upset because at least it exists.
If they're willing to make the Waterproof Gundam, it makes me excited wondering what other old MSVs they'll be willing to release next.
>>14637209
OMG
Planning to get this as my first Gunpla (though I've had experience in plamo via Zoids).
I like my models with many accessories so does this give me good bang for my buck?
>>14637170
It comes with a lot of stuff but that kit is old and crappy. If you have plamo experience maybe you want to get the HGCE Aile Strike, which is newer and really good, and then try to mod the Perfect Strike parts onto it.
>>14637189
>old
>2013
what
>>14637189
it may be old, but it ain't crappy. I had no problems with mine.
>>14637106
Actually, P-Bai has started a kind of "Official" middle man service.
If I understand it correctly. Certain prominent middleman sources can become official international sellers for certain P-bandai products (Which is fuck nothing at the moment last I checked). Basically you order it from the p bandai site, select the middleman, unfortunately pay the middleman price (which will potentially be a bit less severe if they are official now), and the kit ships to the middleman who ships it to you.
No idea why bandai can't just ship it directly to you though.
>>14637198
Jap export tax is really gay, and probably makes year end taxes ultra gay.
>>14636633
As a general rule, I don't buy kits from series I haven't watched yet, as I like to see the robots in action first, even if I end up despising the series. Beyond that I choose robots that I liked and hope they have a kit.
>>14637195
The base kit uses the original hgseed strike mold. Which is over a decade old.
>>14637170
If you really like SEED desgins then any of the remaster HGs are ok but the HGCE line is actually garbage engineering wise since it was a strange time for gunpla where 1/144 was still garbage. There's seam-lines everywhere, poor articulation (which is worsened by the fact that it's the perfect strike) and very meh color separation.
If you want a lot of accessories then get the EZ-SR from build fighters since it comes with parts for three different configurations or alternatively grab the Star Build Strike if you /really/ need SEED.
>>14637198
Wow, times really have changed since the last time I was in the hobby.
But if I'm understanding what you're saying correctly, they don't have any official middlemen yet?
>>14637209
Or get both Build Strike AND Star Build Strike.
can someone tell me what the fuck happened to AKOCreations?
can't find anything, no one selling their old conversion kits, either.
Had an itch to make some MG-sized re:barzams.
fuck those guys made good shit.
>>14637189
Sorry, it's just my first model in a long time and choosing from the literal wall of plastic robots in the hobby shop is sorta daunting.
>>14637196
Age is no problem, I'm more interested in the creative process than the display process.
>>14637209
I'm way outta my depth here. I never actually watched any Gundam series, and my interest in it only extends as far as the models.
I dunno, what's a good HG model with multiple weapons?
>>14637215
If you want a kit with a retarded amount of shit get the Doven Wolf or Full Armor Unicorn
>>14637215
This is your last chance
>>14637215
Just
Get
The
HGCE Aile Strike
>>14637237
>>14637215
Alright, Aile Strike or Full Armor Unicorn it is, whichever is cheaper/available.
>>14637215
>what's a good HG model with multiple weapons?
GM Sniper K9 has guns for days. Pullpup, two pistols, sniper rifle, bigger sniper rifle, beam sabers, heat knife.
>>14637246
Yeah, look. The one on the left is the Perfect Strike you want to buy. The one on the right is the modern HGCE Aile kit. There's a clear difference.
If you have been out of this hobby for awhile you should just get the Aile because it's a nice build and engineered well, nubs are pretty well hidden, and it's hard to fuck it up.
Then you can tackle harder things.
If you still want a kit with lots of shit straight out of the gate there's the Leopard Da Vinci and Amazing Red Warrior too
>>14637260
Whoops, my pic.
What do you guys recomend if i want something to learn and practice on that i can buy several of without being too pricy?
>>14637262
You can get IBO kits on Amazon pretty cheap. They also sell GM Command Space for 11 dollars with Prime. I would buy one of those and practice on it. There are also Hi-Mocks.
>>14637262
HGUC GMs, Zaku IIs, RX-78-2s, HGBF Hi-Mocks.
Ever since they rolled out the Revive Gyan, the old HGUC Gyan has also become cheap as fuck. It's like four dollars for one on AmiAmi.
>>14637272
>Bought four Gyans
>Revive Gyan announced soon after I get it
I'm still a little salty over that.
>>14637283
Cement them all together. Some kind of super Gyan with 8 legs, artillery cannons, three heads, etc.
>>14637272
Fuck you nigger!
Zaku II > Jims
This is fact
Gray or black for panel lining a white kit?
>>14637322
I use black, mainly because it stands out more, but grey looks great too.
>>14637322
Gray is better overall, more subtle. But black is good for high contrast on angular kits, like something from AGE for example.
>>14637310
Why would you type that?
>>14637347
He's probably autistic.
>>14637322
Use a combination of both, black for panels you want to stand out and grey for everything else.
For anyone whos mixed their own primer, can I paint it on with a brush for smaller areas if I dont want to use my airbrush or is that a bad idea.
>>14637404
>Handbrushing lacquer
Bad idea. It dries far too quickly to handbrush. It wouldn't level well, would quickly dry on the brush, and each stroke would pull up previous layers.
which type of blue is the best to use when trying to paint the OG gundam color scheme
>>14637423
So do controlled small bursts with the surrounding areas taped off?
>>14637427
Blue.
>>14637427
the official blue
>>14637468
>The official blue
>Semi gloss
What's the point of painting it exactly the same as the plastic underneathe?
>>14637485
stop being retarded
>>14637492
>>14637485
Actually, you are both retarded, but for different reasons, but it comes to this:
If you're to paint your model the way it is, JUST FUCKING USE TOPCOAT and be done with it.
Painting with same colour if you're going to use topcoat is fucking retarded.
>My HG Turn A was supposed to arrive yesterday
>It got delayed
>No updated arrival date yet
Thanks Amazon, you hacks.
>>14637574
If it makes you feel any better, I think UPS has been shitting the bed lately. I ordered paints with 5 day shipping from some hobby shop and it got here about 9 days later.
>>14635157
It means snip the gates on the back cap the snaps on the main portion so it will seat fully. keep up the good work, anon.
Also, does anyone have any 3d models for gundams that I can print? I want to print something in wood and stain it.
>>14637564
>painting a model kit the correct color is wrong
You don't make any sense. After you glue and sand and process seam lines and actually properly build the model and put the primer on you arent allowed to use the correct color? What kind of tool puts clear coat on the bare plastic and thinks thats acceptable? maybe you need to stop making excuses for being lazy.
>>14637564
What
>>14637564
>JUST FUCKING USE TOPCOAT and be done with it
>>14634880
Just finished this need o panel line it and detail some of the weapons though.
>>14637726
And because im a dipshit I forgot the picture.
>>14637613
Eh no, If you are careful with nubs(sand them and THEN use knife), there is really no point.
End result is still the same, and if you're not painting you minimalize chance of sth going wrong/different shades of parts etc.
>>14637734
I like your chairs
>>14637751
They are very comfy.
>>14637743
You're joking right? If you're seamwelding conventionally then the putty will most definitely need to be painted.
>>14637743
is this guy whats known as a "snap-shitter" ?
Which one do I build first?
>>14638172
The Tropen is a massive brick that has a lot of presence and looks pretty decent with just panel lining.
The Carta Graze needs some paint on that sword to bring out the best in it.
>>14638179
Wow, the sword is just one straight black peice.
>>14638188
That's pretty typical for an HG. At best you get a sticker, but that's very rare.
Hope you got paint and masking tape.
>>14637324
>>14637327
>>14637369

>>14638278
Bawoo.
>>14638286

>>14638287
Gunpla conventions or reading the sticky
>>14638287
At the last gunpla expo they had the next RE1/100 behind some white screen but you could tell it was very obviously the Bawoo.
I think they showed Impulse Gundam Blanche and Psycho Zaku as MGs. Also P-Bandai EW Heavyarms-Kai.
>browsing through dalong looking for something to catch my eye

hnnnnnnng I guess I'm going to watch 0080 once I finish ZZ.
>>14638297

what's the consensus here on MG FAG verka?
Is it like FA unicorn?
>>14637734
You're going to panel line a black kit?
Anyway, did you listen to me or not about the shitty ass arms?
>>14638306
I don't think anyone has it. From what I hear on JP sites it looks beautiful and is really well executed, and even manages to hold up all that heavy shit well, but due to all the weight it can barely stand on its own. Action Base mandatory.
>>14638297
The Blanche was P-Bandai IIRC.
>>14638305
It tears through a bunch of nameless GM and Guncannon variants who seem to have attended the Cobra-Stormtropper shooting academy and then gets absolutely wrecked by the Alex.
>get MG delta plus
>it won't stand on its own
>>14636876
What did you expect? It's based on Char's flashback arc in the Origin manga
>>14638329
It didn't get rekt though. It would have defeated the Alex if the Alex didn't have Plotham Armor.
>>14638362
all of its weapons besides the beam saber were useless against Luna Titanium. had Alex not had the armor on at the time it would have been even faster and more maneuverable and would have wrecked the Kampfer.
Decision time, anons. Do I get a Unicorn PG with the LED set or get a high resolution Barbetos with a PG Astray Red Frame? Both will be about the same amount of money.
>>14638286
Gundamguy pls. Those 'wings' you see are totally Ga-Zowmn's pauldrons.
>>14638415
I would like it if it was the Ga-Zowm.
But you know it's the Bawoo.
>>14638410
Skip the HR Barbetos and pick up 2-3 MGs instead along with the Astray.
>>14634880
Just finished building the HGUC GM Custom. Really good kit, now all it needs is panel lining and touch up paint.
>>14638440
but that detail, tho
>>14638433
Shut your damn mouth you dissenter!! ;_;
>>14638394

>>14638863
It's like the same shit but you have to use cement instead of pegs. You are still assembling a toy, stop being a faggot about it.
>>14638278
Like >>14638415 I'm hoping it's Ga-Zowmn because it fits better with the other Re/100 entries. The Bawoo already has an HGUC >>14638820 >>14638825 with modern (aka thinner) proportions, even though it is very old at this point, while the Ga-Zowmn is a more obscure kit that would be a better suited to the line. Also the gimmick of the bawoo means the the mobility would be more limited than just about any other 2000+ 1/100 kit, even ZZ. I just think Ga-Zowmn makes more sense considering these factors. However, the picture of the Re/100 shadow is heavier on the right side, like the shield of the Bawoo, and light on the left where the Ga-Zowmn wouldn't be due to the hyper knuckle buster (lol seriously that name).
My favorite theory is that the shadow was the Gazu-L and Gazu-R standing in a line, but I highly doubt it. Can you imagine if the surface detail had the original nagano frilly shit? That would be amazing.
>>14638895
>>14638871
and yet snapfaggotry doesn't exist in the real modeling community. Nobody just glues together a tank and puts topcoat on it and calls it done. Its a form of laziness that's inherent in this gunpla hobby

why do people care so much about this kit from ZZ? Its the worst part of U.C.
