Honestly, I'd rather get more of those than a constant onslaught 25-50 episode series like AGE, IBO, or 00. They condense a story, so the writers have to build their characters in a way that their stories can be told over a short time, which strangely enough, results in more unique protagonists and supporting casts. On a separate note, anyone find it kinda weird that Sunrise is essentially splitting the crowd that supported Unicorn between this and the Origin? The Origin obviously has the appeal to middle aged fans who saw MSG growing up, and like Unicorn comes with a healthy helping of Zeonwank, but skimps a bit on the mecha porn. Thunderbolt, while set in the OYW, has enough continuity problems to send any serious minded UC fanboy into an eplileptic seizure, but features the handdrawn mecha snuff porn that was Unicorn's high point. I'm glad they figured out the audience for those two aspects wasn't exactly the same, but at the same time it's kinda weird.

Can I say that I really, really like the Psycho Zaku? I like the fact that it's such an impossible cruel design, given what you need to actually make it work. Stuff like the Psycommu and the huge range of Newtype-only weaponry has made UC feel like a one-man show on occasion: Like, what do you even do when a Newtype shows up? Just run away and get shot in the back by Funnels, probably.

This thing's simply way more intuitive. (I also like the huge backpacks both the Gundam and the Zaku have. It makes sense you won't necessarily have better guns, just a lot more hand-helds weapons.)

Also, they are using those shields in the most fucktarded way possible, as roughly 60% of the mobilesuit is still exposed. The only way they could leave themselves more open to damage, regardless of whether it be due to enemy attack or debris, would be to turn around and have the shields be facing the other way entirely.

Maybe Gundam should slow the fuck down for a while, because prioritizing quantity over quality means that every Gundam we get lately is godawful.

No, I'm just mostly wondering what is up with the industry that they need to make anime series out of other media lines that have yet to run their course. Not sure how this will end but there are only two results: either the task slips up when the anime needs to cough out its own ending and proves not up to task, or, as it likelier with Thunderbolt, they stop after the first major part of the series (you know, when things ususally start to heat up) and you end with with a gargantuan viewer's itch for the rest of the series that will never be scratched.
