No its not exactly breaking news anymore, but still.
If I remember correctly the JP BD wasn't that high quality compared to BDs of 0079 or Turn A. Will the english one be the same or newly encoded?

yeah that sounds about right to me

He is, but he got only 6 votes.
No idea why Shinkawa isn't on it, because he would have undoubtedly made the top 10.
I picked up "The Art of The Force Awakens" earlier and thought I'd share some pics. Let me know if there's anything you guys want to see.
This one is for all the people who said they should end used TIE interceptors in the film
This one is neat. Concept art of primitive lightsabers.

Why do we call Gaelio Chocolate Man if he's the Char? Wouldn't it be easier to call him Charcolate?
What is /m/ favorite Godzilla movie and why?
I haven't seen all of them but it's a toss-up between Showa vs. Mechagodzilla and GMK.
Final Wars - its the hypest
the first once cause it's the one that feels the least like it was made for literal children
We have to face facts /m/, the only way we're going to get real life giant robots is if we develop a direct neural interface.
There's simply no way to effectively control a giant bipedal human shaped robot with a control panel of switches and buttons. Not if you don't want your robot to fall when you walk over any change in elevation.
>>13652861
>There's simply no way to effectively control with a control panel of switches and buttons.
There's though, it's called computer assist.
>>13652861
You make that sound like a bad thing. Why would I want to control a job robot through the extremely inefficient method of buttons, joysticks, pedals & so on when I could place my consciousness inside it and BECOME the giant robot?
Also, we're basically never getting giant robots - not unless artificial muscles become extremely cheap and efficient so that they become a simple vanity object or something anyways.
Not that I mind personally. Giant robots are cool because they're fantasy I think. If they became a reality, they'd be bogged down in practical matters and their image tarnished by being associated with actual blood and death, as opposed to fictional stories that include those elements along with a lot of other stuff. They're more than likely never going to be real and I'm perfectly okay with that.
>>13652877
Oh no I'm not complaining. I think neural interfaces are the coolest things ever and the next frontier for medical science.
I can't wait to get a neural port installed on the base of my spine.
Yes, hello this is Ben Wooder calling from Gryphios. Who am I talking to?

/m/ Sings!
This thread is to keep track of submissions, compilations and planning for current and future /m/ sings projects. This information is also backed up in the /m/ sings Wiki. While this is a pretty relaxed effort, please try to keep your submissions in beat with the original song this keeps compiling the submissions easier, don't be afraid to be loud and have fun. Additionally, please submit your submissions via picosong as vocaroo links will expire if you had submitted something in the past via vocaroo and you have the original recording please resubmit them via picosong.

Found a video on Mechamon, it looked like it had a 'fair' amount of work put into it. what exactly happened? the person making this had some pretty good ideas/concepts to make this feel more /m/. but his admittance to lack of mecha knowledge is what probably what did it in.
>>13607237
It was a half-assed FireRed romhack.
Does /m/ remember Cosmic Break? The game with the robots and the shooting and the tits? Some of you like that, right?

Fuck off your shilling Tempura
>>13592436
Liked it, until zero and all that crap; plus the lousy as hell 'let everyone in as they'll shell out cash for the newest shiny rather than buying better internet' ethos that meant you could play your best but even the worst BR-esque player could tear you a new one with a lag jikun, making a mockery of even trying to play tactically or skillfully - why bother when you could have a full team focus-firing on one lag jikun but it would take such a delay that they could kill the team before blowing up themselves
I have no doubt the Bubonic league will be the same but worse, combined with a whole new level or pay 2 win shenanigans
>>13592436
Fuck off.
Always got to have at least one jackass in the squadron who uses a sword and not a gun, right? Do the Muv-Luv writers actually seriously believe that sword+knife is better equipment for giant robots than gun+knife anything other than situationally, do the characters argue this to be the case in the story?
Instead of providing the actual in-universe explanation as given in UL/ALT, I shall try to present an acceptable alternative argument:
Someone has to carry the specialist armaments. Think of the guy carrying the SAW in a fireteam, or the guy packing the rocket launcher. Clearly those weapons aren't meant to be used to solve every problem you face, they're roleplayers for an ever-changing situation.
>Do the Muv-Luv writers actually seriously believe that sword+knife is better equipment for giant robots than gun+knife anything other than situationally
No
>uses a sword and not a gun
Why not both
The sword isn't even standard equipment for that thing anyways, they have to get them off the Chinese since only Asians and silly European nobles think they're a good idea.
>>13647013
As mentioned by Theodore in the LN, Anette is one pilot out of seven in a squadron out of several hundred dozen squadrons in all of the NVA who may or may not even have their own -77 sword equipment per squadron which has been acknowledged in-story as being equipment only ever imported in small numbers, not widely used, and bound for phase-out some day or another amongst the NVA.
She is also fairly capable at using it the same way Theodore is a "knife expert" - though, as if the finer uses of parry, reversal, and blocking in a knife fight are of any use when your opponent is a fucking 16-meter tall battering ram capable of bringing down your TSF through your "knife-block" in one hit if allowed to.
Seems odd to continually harp on this (this is not the first time I'm seeing this post about SM's PV) when Anette is presented as the single odd case allowed for reasons as detailed by >>13647029.
