The only explanation for why all the mobile suits are buried in mountains near the surface and in near mint condiationis a vague brush-off saying "Eh, ancient civilizations" that doesn't mean anything. Mecha is generally incredibly shit and poorly written, don't try and think too much about it. Just enjoy the mecha porn and you'll have a good time.

It wasn't a masterpiece, but I liked it a lot.
It's probably my AOTS for Fall if I cared about things like that. The art style was nice, it had a few good sakuga scenes, the overall plot was very interesting and I'm looking forward to the 2nd cour. I can understand why the non-linear way they presented it could be off-putting to some, but it made me guess and want to find out how things ended up like that, and it was nice seeing how their actions would have consequences. The semi-MOTW format they had with a different kind of "/m/onster" each week was a nice touch as well, and I love the variety they had, and how they still tied in to the underlying plot.
I think, or at least hope, the 2nd cour will tie things up more tightly, which is good.

I don't even know if I liked it or not. But I think I did.

I liked it since it made me go "oh so that's why [thing] will happen/[character] will do that". Minor things, but still satisfying.

It's a shame it ended on a weak note, but it looks like the second cour will be exclusively about the future time line which was more interesting to me.

They wanted to build a VF that had a higher G-tolerance than the 19 family and one with more versatility and that's why the VF-25 has so many packs while the 19 design doesn't allow for as many options.

I'm an idiot, I thought you were implying the 19 had better specs than the 25 or something. You do bring up a good point though, why are they still using Nightmares Pluses in Delta? The 19s would be a better choice. But it's still just the first episode and Kawamori did say they will be traveling to other planets and star systems so there's a strong possibility we could see other NUNS garrisons flying 19s.

Only Destiny is truly awful. The first series was a big deal then and still affects the anime industry now.
