I was literally just thinking about that when I saw OP's post.

Most people are spared from the horrors of that show, for awhile I was in a hardcore mecha kick, this show is what cured me of it for a long time.

Enma-kun was the last show that was 12 episodes and that was 2011. Dynamic Planning hasn't produced anything in 2012, 2013, and 2014.

Well I'm assuming that we're in some kind of post apocalypse if my kid ends up being an illiterate child soldier given my nationality. Given the difficulty of judging morality in such a situation I'd just be proud that my offspring is thriving so effectively in their environment.

Get the fucker committed. If we are in a war torn world then regret hes a child soldier while he saves lives.

Pros
- Fairly good fights for CG
- Likeable cast, has their own sense of humour
- Plot is simple and wraps up well
- Overall very solid

- Cast's humour takes a few episodes to get use to
- Hirai face, if that bothers you

It is CGI heavy, but it does it better than most do. The story and characters is standard stuff, but the characters are endearing enough people stick with it. And the action sequences are surprisingly good.

Kinda boring.

The DLC isn't pay2win, it's half cosmetics, some new classes, and a couple of high level expansion packs (in other words, pay2lose)

There is a ridiculous amount of DLC though

I'm hoping IBO is anti-child soldier. I'm hoping that older blonde lady is "right" and Mari Okada isn't really wanting us to be happy that bloodthirsty preteens are witnessing their revenge. Everything tells me she isn't, but they're really pushing it with the upbeat music.

Uh, on-topic, there are a lot of exaggerated claims there. I love Macross, I love Gundam. Apples and oranges. It's actually refreshing that Gundam gives us space opera confined mostly to the Earth. Superluminal galactic civilizations are kind of overdone. I want something small-scale, or a galactic civilization bound by the speed of light.

At least as far as UC goes, Amuro and the RX-78 became so publically infamous that the very image of a Gundam type became something like a social meme (not the dumb kind) that was apparently strong enough to last for generations.

I think that gives a great in-universe explanation for why they'd make future machines in the Gundams' image (and often with the similar festive white/blue "roll out" colors the RX-78 just happened to have before being shoe-horned into near non-stop combat.). It's become that strong a symbolic image of power.

Currently on Episode 20 myself. SDF has not so far disappoint, and It's cool to see the show that BattleTech artists drew inspiration (stole?) from. Plus it has a Speed Racer feel to it that I can dig.

Can't wait to watch RoboTech :)

Some things about the epilogue are cool.

I mean, it's kinda like having a sidestory tacked on, in some ways.

I think of it as having a bit of 0083 mixed in with my 0079, if that makes any sense. It's what happens after the finale, and that aspect is interesting.

Because nobody knew which or what of the available Gundam series at the time to localize next.

0079 is only for purists, since the aged art was a turn-off to anybody not a "gundam fan" and only a "fan of gundam."
G was not in the "real robot" vibe that a lot of people who watched Wing liked (myself included), and I didn't thusly give it a shot until I figured out liked "Gundam" in general for its own merits.
