Manga ending was better.
And things were going so well
I nearly teared up at that scene. Perfect end to those two characters.
Who wins?
>>14355841
Hibiki cutest
NOT MY MATCH
Streetest Fighter, of course.
What did he mean by this?

M3. It's slow at first but is pretty good once you're invested
Saw the other thread, so made this one. Who wins?

The one that I like the most.
>>14353834
Arc. Because by the time Misato would be able to force Shinji into the fucking robot, the Getter team would have already sortied and destroyed NERV with an all assault.

The one with an AT field
A little late, but ep 19's up:

Enjoy, everyone!
>>14352479
Thanks again to you and the gang. Any luck with Gorge?
>>14352543
Yup, I got in touch with him! He's getting busy on the stuff I gave him, though we're not in any rush, as you can tell from the release schedule we're aiming for about one episode a week, so I'm not pushing him. Take it easy, as they say~
>>14352479
Thanks so much for this. Really enjoying Dragonar.
Why didn't everyone in that room incinerate, or at the least, get third degree burns, from being in such close proximity?
These things are hot enough to cut through mobile suits quickly, yet, only things in the immediate path of the "blade" are affected?
>>14352097
Because beam swords do not produce radiating heat except in bad ovas
>>14352097
Particle magic contains the energy within the shape of the blade. You're A-okay a few feet away from it.
It's on a low energy setting.
It's also equipped by a GM so that makes the output even WEAKER and LOWER energy.

***READ THE GUIDE***
For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, dont make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

First for graze ein is the best
RAWR! My current WIP. Lots of lining to do on this thing.
You're going to buy the Revive Gyan, right anon? You wouldn't leave best girl to shelfwarm, would you?
Why did they announce the Try OVA first?
Are you telling me the nips liked Try more than GBF?
Other director and staff may not have been available as quickly.
>>14350052
Doubt it. Ratings dropped from BFs (1.64% to 1.42%) and the video sales were even works. BF averaged 9351, whereas Try only averaged 4441.
I'm guessing it's either Try has more toys, or they think Try has a broader appeal since it toned down the nerdy bits.
>>14350052
It was probably worked on and finished first, since it's staff was around. It had lower media sales and gunpla sales by all accounts though, so no, nips didn't prefer it.
http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2016/06/11-1/anime-eyes-have-become-burdensome-to-productions-according-to-staffer
>The talk is that just drawing the eyes for a modern anime girl takes as much effort as it used to take to draw the entire bridge of the Space Battleship Yamato
>>14348997
I think the big complaint isn't just the detail, but how the animators aren't paid worth shit for the amount of time it takes to do the detailed eyes.
>>14348997
That seems unbelievable. There's not nearly as much detail in one as in the other. They might take time, but I cannot believe it's because of detail. Primarily because there just doesn't seem to be much of it.
>>14349006
It's a bad comparison, but I guess it's probably detail + movement. The Yamato's bridge is just a background scenario, after all.
I've noticed it recently with this anime. Her eyes were often off model and simplified, which is probably the type of issue they're talking about.
Sup /m/
I wanna ask - why do you watch Kamen Rider?
I'm genuinely curious, not trying to talk shit. I used to post here back when W was airing. I was big into Kabuto, and had this plan of watching every KR series - exhaustively, like I had already done with Gundam (oh god, how it hurt). Some random ep of W broke me: I found myself asking, what the fuck is the point?
The writing isn't good.
The jokes aren't funny.
The fight choreography is terrible.
The aesthetic, at best, is fun - but mostly its just cheesy.
It occurred to me that I was watching a badly written TV show designed to sell toys to children, and not much else. There's nothing wrong with that at all, but it just isn't appealing to me.
I've since figured out my own initial draw to it. It was always about the archetypes. I've got a big Jungian dick-on for codifying characters based on their role in an established mythos. /m/ shows are really creative about that. Like the Patronus concept from Harry Potter, /m/ heroes can distinguish themselves based on associative animals, but also color palates, costumes, vehicles. Aesthetic becomes mythic until the line between the two are blurred. This shit is aesthmythic. Mythsthetic?
But I can't figure out why anybody else would watch it! It's not like all of you are weird Campbellian writer-types. Do you just like to see your favorite toys doing sick shit? Or is there some good-ass writing in other Kamen Rider shows? Is it about the formula?
I don't want to come across as disrespectful. I think the fandom around /m/ shows is pretty neat. You guys are generally more critical and honest than the creeps over at /a/, which is why I started posting here in the first place. I'm asking as a nerd, out of respect for other nerds. What do you love about the things that you love?
TL;DR: For you personally, what is the point of Kamen Rider?
(pic related because I sincerely watched every fucking episode of Gundam Seed Destiny)
>>14348773
It's been a while since I watched a Kamen Rider series--I should get back into toku sometime--but in my case I liked some of the armor designs, fucking loved the manga, and when I watched Kabuto I got a kick out of the humor, at least. "Ultimate Supreme Makeup" never fails to make me lol.
>>14348803
LOL
Kabuto was my first series. I had a pretty similar reaction, but it all broke down the moment I tried (and failed) to describe the plot to a friend of mine. It was very embarrassing. I was like "I watch Mad Men too" but no dice. The damage was already done.
Besides that, it seems like:
fabulousness (AKA mocking masculinity)
wtfness (no clue what to expect next)
rider design
Are all significant draws. But, like, the first two are undermined (for me) by prevailing macho themes (not to mention the totally wretched handling of female characters) and the aggressive reliance on formula. Rider design can be enjoyed by looking at a photograph, or watching a youtube clip. Watching a whole series for rider design makes about as much sense to me as watching a whole porno and its sequels.
>>14348828
Yeah, Kamen Rider tends to be very formulaic, but the same can be said of mecha shows proper as well. Even a lot of the good ones, like GaoGaiGar, tend to be "monster of the week" a good chunk of the time.

If you love obscure tokusatsu, it's your lucky day! Among others, this account has been uploading PD rips of shows like Mirrorman, Giant Robo and Barom-1. He's only using Japanese for the titles but it's nothing that a translation or cross reference can't fix. You might even find something surprising if you check a title at random. He doesn't seem to be slowing down either so check back in periodically.
In case you're interested in any of the three shows I singled out, I'll spare you the trouble and just offer up direct links
Giant Robo:

Mirrorman + Mirror Fight:

Barom-1:

I recommend checking out Mirrorman above all others. It's something like an X-Files to Ultraseven's Star Trek. I love it to pieces and so should you.
>>14344325
oh damn, that's cool
>>14344325
What does "PD" stand for?
>>14344860
Japanese p2p software called Perfect Dark. This is a lot easier.
By the way, if these don't work in your media player it's because of x265. Essentially, update your codecs (or ditch VLC; whichever comes first). Latest editions of CCCP will have you covered.
Apart from pic related, what are some upcoming titles to look out for in the world of mecha video games?
>>14344225
What is this? What kind of game is it, those mecha look rad.

Oh well. How's that Heavy Gear game coming along?
Has anyone here on /m/ bought and played this game yet? It's fantastic. Nintendo pulled off Kirby's mech suit with absolute fucking aplomb.
I pirated it when it came out in Japan, I beat it there and am now waiting for my actual copy to come in the mail tomorrow.
I'll think about it when you rescue a copy of Code Name STEAM from the bargain bin where it has no business being.
>>14341306
If it's below full retail price, I'll probably buy it. When it was first announced I just wasn't interested, but I could see the appeal in it.
So, whatcha playin'/watchin'/buildin' tonight /m/?
Drinkin'?
Eatin'?
Vanilla Coke, Little Caesar's, and Victory Gendoom for me.

watchin' Heroic Age ep 20 (shit just got real)
playin' SMT4 Final.
Drinkin' Orange juice.
