I'm starting to wonder if my pre-everything mtf roommate is going to start presenting female as soon as she gets her girl mones... And yes, I don't know because I'm afraid to ask.

She's starting to talk about wigs and if I'll be embarassed to be with her when she wears make up outside. The wig thing is sad because she just recently cut her hair for work.

I would be totally fine with it but she's literally not cared about feminizing herself prior at all. Hell, half of her bathroom stuff has the word "MEN" on it. Ignoring the beard shadow even; I've known her for 8 months now and she's put on weight and knows I epilate all the things but... nothing. She knew this was coming and she did nothing.

She says she's scared to be seen as an effeminate man. I'm worried because she might not ease into this the way I have she's going to expect her habits, mannerisms, and grooming to change over night and feel like a fraud or something because it's "fake".

Of course I'm also a paranoid cuck... maybe she's just excited and wanting to talk about those things now because it's "more real" now?

How do I convince someone to try a bunch of things gradually without feeling like neither of us feel like I'm "changing" her or pushing her?

I can totally understand this. I did nothing for about 5 months. Granted, that was AFTER I started HRT - which not including 2 months of memeing myself out of it, I did ASAP. I was also throughout this practicing voice, but externally I was not presenting female at all - despite being openly Sarah. I can't imagine waiting 8 months without hormones. It's going to be another 8 months until they really have any notable external effect tell them to ASAP get on them if they're sure they're trans. It's a shit show.

I live on the fringe of reality a lot of the time, so I get the paranoid aspect. I never stray delusional, but if she's down the same rabbit hole as me, it will take time to crawl out. It's a dark fucking tunnel...

Trying things gradually isn't enough for some. Like for me, I tried it, it just made my dysphoria spike to suicidal levels. I let myself grow the beard out again and deserving even after 4 months HRT.

I currently flip female only 30% of the time. It means doing my hair, brows, makeup, clothing etc. I couldn't imagine having signed up to change just 1 of those at a time. I tried my hair and eye brows and a girl shirt earlier before I was mentally prepared and it sucked.

I would say there is a big difference between love and being supportive
many parents I'm sure would refuse to accept their kid's identity, or maybe even not want them to live at their house if they're taking hormones, but I think any sane parents who have a soul and a heart would still love their child

And no, she didn't have to wait. I hooked her up with my clinic and she literally could have started two month after me when she got her blood tests back but she chickened out because she wanted to have biological kids someday.

I said I understood and told her how I saved my jizzcicles. She was unemployed but apparently had enough savings to live off them for until November without worry; we met in May. She was burning hundreds a month in weed (her words) and also hitting bars enough to be known at a few. All she had to do was that and she could start, but she wanted to save money for it. I don't understand what her financial situation was completely but I asked her about the job search a few times a month. The first place she applied to in November accepted her.

My fear is I've had to seriously kick my ass because this is fucking do or die for me and I know it's disgustingly important for her too but she doesn't seem "desperate" enough yet.

I settled back in my lamentful parents, but it's amicable and I leave again in may hopefully for good.

How old is this person? For me I figured this stuff out at age 23 the day before my 24th birthday. Now I turn 25 in a month - I still don't really pass and it doesn't seem super urgent. I live in a very tolerant area and since I'm accepted as female in the winter (we'll see how summer goes) because of long cute scarves and pink ear hats etc it's not really mattered.

I don't understand the desire to have kids I've always been terrified of that. I will happily die without being a mom-dad.


I study this stuff a lot, and what I've observed are 3 main types (and more) of transitions. This is true under age 27 where I don't have data.

* those who gradually fall into it and then go full time. A lot of these will be trying to full time and may even pass with no HRT. It ain't luck it's just dedication. I don't have that personally. Starting small, maybe lipstick at night, wearing pink, then full into female underwear. Usually after a few months HRT these people pass well because they've already more than 50% transitioned.

* people who flip in an instant. It's rare, but they're out there. They usually don't pass right away, but the switch is immediate and final and hard core. These types cry a lot and burn through transition quickly but with support are usually fine.

* those like me who just kinda accept a nebulous and exasperated existence No matter what we try. Eventually the hormones will work a bit more and I'll finish electrolysis and hopefully pass stealth. These are the slowest transitioning, I've heard stories of HRT for 2 years before slowing starting to present. I'm approaching a year and I'm right smack in the middle.
