The Megadrive had a great aesthetic to it.

The sound chip sounded a lot edgier than the SNES sound chip. All those bullshit add-ons you could slap on it felt so satisfying

The 6 button gamepad introduced halfway into it's life cycle was a lot better than the SNES controller for fighting games, it's a shame that so few games supported it.

They're more expensive and pretentious.
