Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they'll stop a round. Here are my complaints about them:

Shit customer service, not product related, I know.
Much thicker and wider than your average plates.
Not a SAPI cut, close but not a SAPI cut. So a lot of plate carriers designed for SAPIs don't hold these properly. (this is what really killed them for me)
That really thin vinyl overlay with the carbon fiber theme to it.
Heavy for what they are.
For about 50$ more (when the sale is running) you can get Highcoms actual SAPI cut plates that are level 4 and address all my issues above, even the wrap has been done in Cordura not Vinyl.

I only suggest Highcoms as they were the first I found with a decent plate, sized right and priced comparatively to the ArmourWears. Here are the ones I got in a SAPI size medium.

So a few threads ago I asked for optics recommendation for a DMR and was pointed to the Vortex II HD. Pretty much what I'm looking for, but the price point means I'm not getting it this year and the color is weird. I don't know why they wouldn't have that in a black option

So I looked around and am now looking at the Viper PST Gen II. Pretty much the same thing for half the price and it comes in black, but anyone got any input on it? I want something "battle ready" where the lens won't get scratched up and it won't lose zero.
