Happy Birthday Canada
>>
What does anyone like about Canada? I know it isn't currently the worst country in the world, but I feel like it will be in a few decades.
>>
>>34414679
>What does anyone like about Canada?
the literal country itself. the geography. that's the only good thing worth preserving. the people suck. the immigrants suck. the politicians suck. the economy sucks. the job market sucks. the currency sucks. the 50% income tax sucks. the health care sucks. the internet sucks. telecom prices suck. insurance rates suck. the gun laws suck. the gun ranges suck. the gun community sucks. etc.
>>
>>34414708
This. I use to love Canada as a child but as I've grown older and started working full time I've realized how shitty our country actually is. If the libs win the next election I may seriously look into leaving for another country.
>>
So I've been considering joining the Canadian Military for some time now, but I'm worried that if they don't need any more people, they'll just deny me, and I have to wait three years before I can reapply. What's the likelihood of me actually being accepted right now?

So are we gonna get news about the T81? If so when and how?
Or will TI just go all IT'S TOTALLY FINE BRO DON'T WORRY BRO and sweep all questions and delays under the rug?

If I don't have a chance of seeing it before halloween I'm sure as shit getting a refund.
It's my first time preordering a rifle so I have no clue.
>>
>>34416739
Pre-ordering guns is always a huge pain, my dude. Best of luck to you.
>>
>>34416771
Might be a chance of getting back 1k and putting it on another rifle or some other stuff I've been wanting to get so I don't mind that much.

Honestly I love my M305 so much I really could live without ever having another rifle.
>>
>>34416739
TI said they were told by the chinamans that manufacturing was scheduled for July. They best you can hope for is some sort of confirmation from TI that manufacturing has begun as scheduled. If that happens then that's my mark for pre-ordering.

Since TI has terrible communication, I wouldn't put it below them to make absolutely no comment for the entirety of this month. I also wouldn't put it beyond the chinks for finding clever new ways of delaying production, but even that would surprise me given that TI said this is being made alongside a government.
>>
>>34416805

You could only say this if you've shot fewer than 5 rifles in your life and they've all been surplus or chinkshit.

I'm an oldfag too and can see the inexorable downhill slide this country is taking and contemplating the move as well. I know 4 people who have moved out of the country (sorry, 5. My doctor went back to Germany after 30 years) because they found someplace better and the Canadian future isn't a place they want to be.

The vets down at the Legion were right. If they'd known Canada would turn out like it is today, they would have laid down their guns. That's pretty harsh & says something about the state of things today.

Happy Canada Day. I use the old Ensign because the kind of the country it represented was far superior to what it is now.

If that's honestly the case then this is just some edgy phase and you're rationalizing your lack of a RPAL or you're just plain fucking boring.

>Yeah no
I think it's fair in Canada to extend fudd status to RPAL-deficient gun owners. Let's say you have brain damage and you don't have a desire to own the best semi-auto 5.56 rifle in the world. That's either because you want to rationalize your purchase of one of those $3000 NR alternatives, or let's say you're committed only to historical stuff/surplus, in which case there are definitely handguns that are in that realm which would interest a genuine enthusiast of historical firearms/surplus and so if you still find yourself at this point with no desire for either an AR or handgun, your are either completely autistic or a poorfag and doing your best to defend your indefensible position.

You'd probably be okay with idealistic liberal gun policies that would bring us down to the level of australia or some shit.

>You have no fucking idea what fudd means.

>>
>>34417306
Okay, since you're retarded I'm gonna spell it out for you
Fudd means you don't give a shit about gun control as long as it keeps your strictly hunting guns out of the picture. >There are now 839,295 restricted firearms, many of them handguns.

What's wrong with Canada today?

People wanted more free stuff so they voted Liberal. People wanted the superficial aspects of being Canadianâ„¢ so they voted Liberal so Trudeau can hand out money internationally to reinforce the Canadaâ„¢ brand globally that was created by the previous generation.

Canadians are superficial people anon.

>That's pretty harsh & says something about the state of things today.

It's not the end of the world. Even if we had a conservative gov't our budget would be around the same league but not AS bad.

Our gun rights/privileges are under attack, but we're still holding the fort.

Here >>34417430 I'll give you a helping hand since you struggle with reading comprehension. Basically, drastic anti-gun legislation, whether targeted at Restricteds or all firearms, becomes more difficult and less likely to be implemented as the number of people and firearms affected by the prospective policy increase to numbers that make it an unfeasible logistical nightmare or political suicide in the supposed high gun-ownership ridings that went liberal. >Having my RPAL and no restricted guns wouldn't change that number.

>It's already up by a significant proportion, one guy isn't gonna change that.

>They do that kind of stuff on a daily basis
tell me of the 30 unique "drastic anti-gun legislation" from the month of June. What shit they do try to pull, it isn't frequent, but it is harmful and they get away with it because shit like their 80% ruling affects maybe a few thousand. That's not why. It's because the sparks can cause fire. The floor of a shooting range is COVERED in unburnt powder.

machining on it is terrible, charging handle sometimes pops out from the cam, also the safety isn't usable because it will cause it to fire when disengaged, that's not super common but mine was a bit of a lemon

those cheap chinese guns aren't properly done, if you're poor it's probably still worth it but i've moved up since i started shooting so it's not a gun i particularly like

that and shooting 308 out of a gun that inaccurate and kinda shitty isn't really worth it when i have better guns to shoot that expensive ammo out of

the price of these guns now isn't worth it at all, i'd say if youre poor and can get one for 4-500 it's somewhat worth it, but i wouldn't pay what they're charging now, buy a better gun not made by chinese

I was looking at joining the armoured division. Hoping I could eventually shoot a tank. I don't exactly know how I would get to that point. Do they assign you, or do you get to pick what you do once you are placed in either recon, or armoured?

With that said though, I won't overlook the chance to get some education under my belt if it presents itself. I basically don't have much of a social life, so I wouldn't mind making the sacrifice to have to go somewhere or spend a lot of time doing something before I think about something like starting a family or anything permanent like that.

there's more restricteds than ARs and handgns you know
I'm not big into handguns but I own an AR15. However I love carbines and there's really nothing quite as fun as them. Even a normal length barrel VZ58 is super cool.
>>
>>34419252
>spending money on a piece of shit
there's no point accurizing them, back when they went for $400 it was an ok gun to have for fun, but you can buy way better guns for the price of what they are now + spring guide etc. to accurize them

the m14 is a 100 year old design to begin with

they're rare af and overpriced, you could argue importing one from the states, still way too much money for what it is
>>

saw one for $750 on the EE a few weeks ago, they regularly go for several hundred less than a normal length VZ58

Some other cool restricted non handguns are the: vz61 skorpion, b&t tp-9 or apc-9, brs-99, swiss arms carbine, famae 9mm, cz scorpion evo, sig mpx

What kind of welding are you certified for, Anon?
>>
>>34434563
None.
In poutineland the industry is pretty weird, you don't need any certs for the vast majority of jobs so I just don't bother. I specialize in TIG anyway and TIG certs for non-pipe fabrication are just silly.
>>
>>34434590
Ah... Yeah, I'm all too familiar with welders in Quebec...

One company I worked for didn't use welding symbols for the first ~40 years of operation. When I convinced the Engineering Department to start applying them, I then had to teach the welding department what the welding symbols meant...
>>
>>34434627
I know right
I just started this job in custom fab a couple weeks ago and most of the plans don't even have welding symbols so I'm just supposed to guess how I have to weld shit up.
Fucking junior engineers
>>
>>34434649
What the people in the office did prior to that was just put a leader pointing at the spot to weld with "WELD HERE". Not even the kind of weld or whether to grind or anything.

After the debacle of trying to get them to learn welding symbols, the Eng. Dept. as a whole decided it was a better idea not to put the weld dimensions on the symbols, lest the Welding Dept. do a violent revolt...

Calm your autism.

RPAL is federally issued, living in any province has no bearing on getting an RPAL or not, it's all the same. Toronto is a city not a province, stop failing grade 6 geography anon.

Only getting restricteds could be different depending on how much an ass your provincial CFO is.
>>
>>34429565
that didnt actually happen; the anthem remains unchanged, and it was a private organization that did it during a smalltime sports event

this is just like the "OMG CANADA BANNED SEX ROBOTS!!" shit that mras always go on about -- that didnt actually happen either. it was some professor giving a lecture to a class and subsequent group thought experiment that he published in his blog; not actual federal law. it was the equivalent of publishing the results of a wargame as actual real irl history, just like that MUH GENDER NEUTRAL ANTHEM thing is basically like taking the actions of some gaggle of canadians and not going beyond stereotyping into straight up "these randos represent the federal government, this is what the Government of Canada actually believes"

yankee tabloids vastly overstate the political leanings of canada. it is incredibly difficult, for better or for worse, for the federal government to do much of anything in terms of changing official documentation or manipulating social policy. theyre basically like the administratum from 40k, at the risk of sounding worse than a furry

The fuck is your problem.

The only 2 discernible difference for RPAL applications are for Quebecers who need to fill in an additional form to notify SQ. The second difference is that Ontario requires your results to be mailed into the CFO office for a stamp.

The tests are of the same standard. CFC Miramichi handles the applications, interviews, and background checks.
