I want another shotgun, what should I get? Under $1000, preferably.
Asked this in a qtddtot, but got no response.
>>
>>34380286
A shotgun for what. Hunting, Trap, fun, 3gun?
>>
>>34380396
Fun, at this point. The Ithaca is great for trap already, and although I don't have my hunting license as of yet though I imagine it'll work as well.
>>
>>34380406
The 8" magfed grizzlies are pretty fun.
Maybe a Mossberg 930 they are pretty cheap and probably the best entry level semi auto shotgun.
>>
>>34380406
Mossberg Persuarder
>>
>>34380421
>>34380423
I'm leaning on a mossburger then. Would there be any major difference between getting a Mav or 500 beyond the price, which is mostly negligible?
I can also get them 930 for a touch over $600, so there's that.
>>
>>34380444
Maverick is pretty cheaply made but plenty functional, 500 is a step up in quality, 590 is a step up from the 500 but with much better aftermarket.
>>
>>34380453
>590 has better aftermarket
590 it is for pumps, then. Having one I can make my own sounds nice.
>>
>>34380286
Maybe one of those semi-auto AR-15 looking ones?
>>
>>34379896
it's only fucking $999
>>
>>34380481
Might be fun, but shit for the aftermarket compared to many other options. I was leaning on getting the Winchester SXP before realizing how bad it's aftermarket was as well.

Got my new AR in the mail yesterday, took it to the range today. Fucking love it.
A fellow was selling it on CGN for $725 shipped, I was able to get him down to $675 shipped.

Complete parts list:
-Aero Precision complete lower with Magpul MOE grip, Magpul trigger guard, & Magpul MOE SL milspec stock
-Aero Precision upper with:
-Bushmaster BCG
-Midwest Industries 10.5" SSM handguard
-S&J gas tube & charging handle
-DA 14.5" chrome-lined 1/7" pencil barrel
-BCM 0.625" low-profile gas block
-Samson fixed BUIS
-Magpul type-2 M-LOK rail covers
-Magpul QD sling swivels

All pretty quality parts... Except the dominion arms barrel. The gun is mostly just a fun plinker for me, and I'm largely going to be shooting steel cased stuff, so I'd much rather be shooting cheap ammo out of a cheap barrel than something really high end. I had the rifle out at the range shooting some barnaul and mfs steel cased ammo, and the thing ran flawlessly, I had a ton of fun with it.

So that would be a 1300 Featherweight made before 1989.
Blue Book lists that model as follows:
100% = 300 USD (394.40 CAD)
98% = 260 USD (341.81 CAD)
95% = 230 USD (302.37 CAD)
90% = 195 USD (256.36 CAD)
80% = 175 USD (230.07 CAD)
70% = 160 USD (210.35 CAD)
60% = 145 USD (190.63 CAD)

Subtract 30 USD (39.44 CAD) if it doesn't have a ventilated rib.

You should be able to haggle him down a little bit, depending on condition.

Where can I find a SVT40 in decent condition in Alberta? And what prices can I expect? Wholesale sports has it listed at $370 but I'm pretty sure demand is gonna skyrocket the cost. Also... any suggestions on other milsurp guns would be welcome.
>>
Has anybody dealt with this before?

My grandpa passed away recently. Old Italian horse breeder, great man. Naturally he may have and prohibs that he never registered, hidden somewhere in the barn. Assuming he does, is there any way they could avoid the hands of Mr RCMP? My grandma is still here, if that changes anything.
>>
>>34384488
Hypothetically, if the prohibs are <106mm barreled or .25/.32 caliber pistols, you could feasibly have them converted to restricted by replacing the barrel.

If they are any other sort, you'd have to either have them chopped up or sold to someone with a license for that class of prohib (you likely won't get much, as it's a buyer's market).

Now that it's in the processing stage, this is what you should do:
Call them and ask for the reference number for your references.
Once you have that, give it to your references and ask them to call for the interview (It takes 5 seconds). That way, you don't have to wait for them to eventually get around to calling your references. After that, it shouldn't take too long unless you answered "Yes" on any of the questions about your health/job/relationship/etc or the CFO is a giant cunt (Possible).

I moved to Canada last year from Firearm-Purgatory (AKA Australia). My PAL is close to being finished. I work for a LGS but I'm super torn on what my first rifle will be. Any suggestions?
I'm tossing up between an unremarkable 91/30 with a bayonette, a beautiful unissued never fired SKS, and what (at least according to /k/ when i asked recently) appears to be an 8mm k98 German Guild Gun, which has a period scope.

All 3 rifles are actually within the same price range, but i dont thinkthe dealer knows what his k98 actually is.

Based on ammo availability, servicing, accuracy (im not hunting, just range shooting), and fun, which is/k/'s choice? Im split between all 3 equally.
>>
>>34389412
Holy shit hes either way over charging for the 91/30 and SKS or fucking way under for a German K98

91/30 ammo availability 10/10, service very easy, accuracy usually fairy poor with few exceptions

SKS ammo availability 10/10, service hardest of the 3 but still quite simple, accuracy is ok in the sub 300m range.

k98 ammo availability is limited and costly, accuracy is the best of all of them, functional cleaning wise is simple, detail stripping is a god damn nightmare.
>>
>>34389482
Thanks man, yeah like i said i dont think he knows what hes sitting on with the mauser. The mosin is tagged at 350, same with the SKS. mauser is 399.

Probably should have included those prices in my first post, its sorta relevant.
>>
>>34389514
Yeah 91/30's are around 200 now, SKS 250, German k98's are 800 but there are alot of factors that can change the price but not to that low if it is a German.

Even if its a Yugo k98 thats still a pretty damn good price, I'd be tempted to get it regardless of the ammo costs.
>>
>>34389514
I'd get the Mauser, as the nugget and sks seem overprices. I got my sks, and ammo container, and 100 rounds for only $300.
Assuming the k98 is in good condition, that seems like a steal.
>>
>>34389579
>seem overpriced*
> an* ammo container
Damn it, what's up with my ability to type today?
>>
Cool, you've both made my mind up, thanks lads.

I think the reason the mauser is so cheap is because it doesnt LOOK like a milsurp. Its a guild gun. So its got all the k98 bells and whistles but packaged in a ~1920 era wood sporter stock. Im sure my dealer just thinks its a sporter.
>>
>>34389268
The actual measurement is 660mm (25.9843").

>has a Norchinko coach gun
Mah nigga.
As for 12 gauges, I've cycled through plenty and had fun with a lot of them. The Mossberg 500 is great if you want to personalize your shotgun, and the 590 equally so if you want that step up in quality and robustness. I personally have a Maverick pistol gripped for STALKER feels at the moment, I always preferred the safety position on them although they are the cheapest and the forends are, for the most part, unchangeable. Never let me down though. I also currently have a DA 1887, Alpharms SA15, an H&R bolt action, and a coach gun like yours. Another memorable one for me I want to get again some day was a Gen 4 UTS15, it was a lot of fun and worked pretty well. I also had a spring assist Turkish pump that was very reliable and fun, it was fast to shoot.

The choices are endless man, I'm a 12 gauge lover all the way, they're honestly my favourite type of gun in my collection. If you have any questions about any of my shit fire away, I'll be honest.
>>
>>34390552
Why don't you stop buying turk and chinashit guns and experience some real quality for a change?

Memeing aside, you really should check out a Benelli or Beretta 12 gauge, semi or manual. I'm not much of a gun snob but after using Italian shotguns I can't go back to the sweatshop-tier guns.

The thing for me is I'm more of a sucker for guns that are different or neat, even if they aren't top of the shelf. I respect the Beretta and Benelli guns but for the most part I find them disinteresting, Beretta especially, Benelli has some offerings like the Nova I wouldn't mind trying in the future.

>>34391117
I've had two in the past two yearsish. The first one was an absolute cunt I had to smack open, my recent one is significantly better, it does rarely need a good open palmed smack but for the most part it's vastly better and I think it will wear in to the point where it feels a lot nicer. Chinese quality control at work.

>>34391145
I actually really loved the damn thing. It's chunkiness fit me really good, felt very pointable for me. Pretty comfortable to shoot also. What I loved most about it was the capacity of course, it was incredibly fun to go through 14 rounds at a shot. It's also retardedly simple to pull apart. Now of course, this is a very minor gripe for me personally but the reliability is, even in the Gen 4's not 100%. Mine I'll call in the 90% range, it would fail to feed at least once a trip but, that could've been me a few times also. If you need a gun to go bang every single time without failure I would of course suggest a Benelli or what have you, it's par for the course with the UTS' weird action. But I have to say they fixed the Gen 4's significantly in that department, it did impress me, I was expecting it to be a lot worse. Overall I really enjoyed mine, it felt nice and worked well enough for what I did with it.
>>
>>34391455
8 shells legally in a semi-auto that fire as fast as you can pull the trigger doesn't interest you? I've never met a gun owner that could claim that before. I love my Beretta 1200FP.
>>
>>34387825
how big is this supposed second/private discord?
>>
>>34391505
In a semi auto that looks and handles like that, not especially. I don't doubt all of their claims to fame and sure it would probably be fun to fire off those 8 that fast, I could probably do it once or twice and be satisfied. Admittedly I'm actually very luke warm about most semi auto shotguns, I like the M4 style ones and the Auto 5. But most other semi auto shotguns I can't even get excited about, they mainly look the same and handle the same. I'm much more endeared towards manual actions on the whole for shotguns. Rifles are different. I'm with this Anon >>34391229

And not saying your shotgun is stupid or lame or any of that, I don't think Chink or Gobble Gobble shotguns are even in the same realm for reliability, easy of use and utility. I just don't find them exciting.

>major Canadian holiday means a lot of exposure
>recent developments in the Middle East of boys in black pajamas getting their shit pushed in from all sides, means they are more than ever in need of showing they've still got it
>a few groups attacking number of locations simulatioualy already happened in places like Paris
>coordinated attacks on major power stations and key hub transformers could bring down the grid for quite a while and cause a massive amount of damage to the country at a fairly low input cost
then there is always the possibility of a false flag, Americans needing a reason to go to war with some kebabs they could blame for this in Syria, Iran or elsewhere -- what better way to do it without damaging own population

it's highly unlikely, but more probable than people think

An SKS, it's cool to me, and considering I live in a city and don't hunt, it's only good for paper punching.
>>
>>34409406
And stabbing intruders with bullets/the bayonet.
>>
So I got a Chinese SKS with chrome bore in good shape, no rust. Downside is that it's in a cheap synthetic stock that side-folds and I don't have the original. No bayonet either, I bought it like that ages ago as a gun to throw around innawoods but I got nicer guns right after so it didn't see much use.

How much is it worth? Two fiddy? I'm not gonna be a bubbafudd all like REEL AK FOLDER WIT POLYMAR FOLDAN ASSALT STOCK 900 MONIES NO LOWBALLERS!!! but I wouldn't mind selling it to buy food for other guns.
>>
>>34409781
250-200 seems to be the going rate for SKS's
>>
>>34409813
SKS's what?
>>
>>34409781
sorry, didn't read the part about you selling it. two fiddy if you want to sell it fast, maybe 300 if you want to milk every shekel out of it. depending on whether it's a military model from the 60s-70s or one of the Norcs made for the civilian market, the price can be higher or lower. I wouldn't pay more than 250 for a civilian model (actually I'm lying, I probably wouldn't buy it at all), if it's a military model in mint condition (they originally came unissued so basically brand new from the factory + half a century of sitting around in a cosmoline hibernation) 300 or even 350 would be reasonable, considering shitty BBQ pain soviet returbs in the ATI stock that you probably have are 360 and up

So I carry a Mare's leg in my car because I live in an area of town with bears. Fish cops have been around with traps, there's bear shit, etc, and the RCMP thinks its alright for you to have a non-restricted with you in such circumstances.

Suppose that panjeet and co. decide that they don't like the way that I drive, and they cut me off, and force me off the road. Is that reasonable grounds for me to walk out holding my gun (assuming I'm not brandishing, pointing or at-the-ready with it)?
>>
>>34410453
Wouldn't that be considered as brandishing though
>>
>>34410453
Only if your car is stuck, and you've got every reason to believe your life is in danger (they're coming at you with knives, baseball bats, etc).

Even then the cops will try to fuck you over.
>>
>>34410453

>>34411366
I mean it was our service rifle for more than 30 years for fuck's sake.
>>
>>34411423
Yes, its probably a good idea to show that you made every attempt to escape non violently. If some chink cuts you off and all you do is swerve onto the side of the road, the judge probably won't go easy on you for waving a firearm at them.

I thought that BC residents could get body armour as long as they had a valid PAL/RPAL.
>>
>>34411577

Funny thing is I technically do.
>>
>>34411468
Yep, and ours was an exceptional variant. The only one you could feed with stripper clips. My dad really misses his from the days in the reserves. There's no logic to these gun grabbers, they'll just ban anything that looks scary. We're lucky that the AR isn't banned as well.
>>
>>34411807
You technically live in Surrey?

So what, you actually live in Delta/White Rock/Cloverdale?
>>
>>34411853
Reminder that they've banned the G11, which was never commercially sold, and only ever existed as prototypes.
>>
>>34410211
Any access to welding equipment? Should be easy enough to shore it up before anything goes wrong. Otherwise some sites sell the entire magazine pre pinned for like $20.
>>
>>34411732
I mean wtf is a body armour permit. I've never heard of that before. Don't you just buy body armour?

I'm on the fence about turning my L1A1 into a C1, or just buying a SUIT and spare wood furniture.
What do you lot think?
>>
>>34410211
If you're into the bubba lifestyle, you can buy the MagWedge or HiCal magazine adapter so you can use detachable XCR magazines.

You'll get rid of your pin problem AND you get to shoot 10 rounds legally! Win-win.
>>
>>34412055

Yeah, those are 'technically' Surrey.
>>
>>34412143
The SUIT optic looks pretty cool, I would do that. The C1 was great but I don't think converting it is worth the effort or time.

Body armor is regulated on a Provincial level.
Some do not regulate, some ban, some allow it with PAL, some require a permit so that LEO/Security can acquire it.

How much would I be looking at (rough average) if I want to get an m1 Garand (.30-06 only, none of that italian .308 shit)?

Not always. Called some to find areas to shoot outside of Calgary. Was told to just not use tannerite without a permit or I'd be paying the bills if there was a forest fire.
