Chimps, how large was the right side cutout for your folding stock on your 74U LLC receiver?

Mine looks pretty damn generous, moreso than I'm used to seeing on factory guns and Mario's work.
>>
>>34312428
Well I mean, I saw it, but I didn't put the trunnion in to check the size or anything. That looks perfect right there, I'll be pleased if mine looks like that.

Yeah, it works, which is really all I can ask for at this point, but I just wasn't sure if it was normal. I'm still not completely used to AK-loose tolerances.

>Molot-Oruzhie, OOO manufactures ordnance and accessories and is located in the Russian Federation. Well that sucks. I was really looking forward to having some other cool toys from them at some point. At least there's already tons of them in the states that can be resold.
I'm really going to get teary eyed if they stomp out wolf/barnaul/vympel etc so no more cheap ammo on top of that. That'd really drive the point home.
But I guess that's why I've been stocking up so much ammo, so I don't have to panic while other companies/countries take years to pick up the slack. There's no way in hell I'm paying 20bucks for a box of winchester.

They might stomp on Vympel's balls since they make a lot of heavy ordnance for the Russian military, but I don't think Barnaul does anything outside of the civilian sector. We might be ok there.

I was never too interested in VEPRs so this isn't as crushing for me as it is to everyone else. I'm just sad we'll never get RPK-74Ms now. I can't afford to buy a VEPR at the moment either, so I guess I'll have to be satisfied with my AKS-74N and Maadi.

Now that molot is gone I bet russian ammo is at risk now too so even if I found a decent ak I wanted Id be worried about ammo becoming kill

And any of the actual interesting AR stuff is fucking retarded expensive, a c7 upper is like $200 used JUST

If 5.56 ak mags weren't $50 I'd consider falling for 556 ak meme

I just bought an AUG expecting to have more time to see if I wanted a vepr or not. As soon. As they announced new sanctions I knew it was pointless since either rifles or ammo were going to get hit. So much for Trump being the pro gun candidate, having accomplished a grand total of fuck all.

Shitty guns. The only good AKs are Russian AKs. The gun community has known this for a decade. Stop buying shit, you missed the ball on good AKs and you just have to suck it up and be a lolARfag.

Also golden tiger isn't the best ammo ever. I've had some with light primers and it's fucking laquer coated
>>
>>34313425
btw ptr pls stop being fgts and make a 93 clone

>>34313440
rip

I really have no clue what to do now since AK's are becoming kill and retro AR parts are retarded.

PTR 91 would be cool but if russian ammo gets killed then shooting it would be even on money
A good FAL is retarded expensive so none of that and ammo
gucci stuff like mcx, bren, aug, tavor are too expensive

Might get a .308 bolt gun to try doing long range stuff but its kinda stupid since I don't even really have a place to shoot plus my AR with a scope would probably be fine for that. An ar pistol or evo with brace is the only other thing mildly interesting I can think of.

I'll probably just buy a turkshit jericho then stop buying gun stuff for a while and finally build a computer.

Now would also be a good time to get into suppressors and such too. I don't think PTR91 ammo is too expensive right now either; you can still get brass .308 for about 50 CPR if you do a bit of searching. Not as good as steel case pricing, but still good.

Ha, they're only considered top tier because they're rare since they were banned. Quality isn't all there.

Only good because they're imported as a barreled receiver then done up in an American factory, yet they still end up having a plethora of problems like small parts breakage and paint melting off.

Lol. Nope. My maternal biological grandfather was a big fat Missourian farmer who was adopted by some relatives that left him a farm. He then married my maternal grandmother, popped out a kid, and then divorced because my maternal grandmother was fucking insane and he may or may not have molested my mom or something like that. He's still alive and kicking but is essentially a semi-mobile vegetable. Years of, after selling the farm, working in the aerospace industry as a painter fucked him up pretty good. An evo pistol would be neat but its hard justify the price difference over building an AR pistol especially since I already have mags and ammo.

I saw a PTR 91 for high 700's last year black friday so I am watching this year to see what happens, more expensive to shoot but it fills more of a role than a EVO. Should get a stable source of income before I get something that shoots half dollars though.

Don't really have anything worth suppressing so I don't see myself buying any unless hpa passes, if it does I might get a threaded cz p01.
Can't say I am too hopeful for that passing.

But for now I am more interested in a tristar t-120 since space cowboy things.

Speaking of folders, I got curious and looked up some other stubs to see if that extra thicc window cut is normal.

Certainly looks that way. This is a Bulgy AKS-74 stub; I used a Bulgy rear trunnion on my build since I couldn't find a Russian one. I'd ask if there's a size difference, but my Russian stock hardware fit the trunnion perfectly. Hard to say, but at the end of the day, it looks like the gap isn't as out of the ordinary as I expected. If it was centered with a gap on top and bottom, I probably would've never noticed.

The only reason you should be panic buying a VEPR is if you intend to convert it to an RPK, want a Russian-made gun and don't want to pay Saiga prices, or if you actually want a stock VEPR.

If you're just trying to get a quality 7.62x39 AK the SLR-107 will honestly be better for you since you won't have to modify furniture or be restricted to RPK-type furniture.

guys, i'm genuinely fucking afraid. AK's are one of my favorite interests in my life, and it seems to be disintegrating before my eyes. Any normalfag can build a gucci AR... a shooter who is proficient with a Kalashnikov rifle is a rare thing, and will surely grow exponentially more uncommon. With both Molot and Izhmash gone, Bulgarian AK's are the last decent lineup of rifles being brought into the country. They will now have little to no competition, and naturally prices will skyrocket.

And once Bulgy's get banned, what then? Is this the end of AK's? What will will tell the newfags who want to join us? To buy a RAS-47? How did this happen?

THESE ARE DARK DAYS.

>I hope to God x39 isn't kill.

It won't just be AK calibers, it'll be .308 and .223 as well. It's going to fuck everyone.

>>34315649
I've already sealed and stored what I have in .50 cans. I've got some loose 5.45 sitting on my dresser but other than that my AKs are going on a diet. Once I've finished buying AUG food I'm going all in on AK ammo and nothing else for a while.

>>34315652
Then fuck him, buy the rifle and keep it.

can anyone explain why all x39 and 545 is expected to dry up?
>>
>>34315647
It'll be all Russian made ammo if they ban ammo imports next.

Fucking hell. I mean I just bought another 1k x39 a few weeks ago but this is shit. I'm trying to save up for a fucking house god damn it now I'm tempted to run out and buy some more steelcase.
>>
>>34315739
why do the 550s never play?
>inb4 they aren't aks
>>
Stop with the ammo panic, if Russian ammo was going to be banned O would have done it in the first round of EO's.
>>
>>34315773
It's not, /k/ is just overreacting as normal. The main reason Molot got smacked at all was because they went bankrupt and Kalashnikov Concern bought up huge parts of the company, so to the State Department they just look like a shell company now.

Barnaul doesn't really have the same connection problem. Vympel might get hit though.
>>
>>34315773
Because we can't just leave the Middle East the fuck alone to implode on it's own or just glass it and be done with it. Neither can the Russians because we're both treating it like a boat, we throw tons of money and blood into it yet somehow it never gets fucking fixed.

Now Putin and Trump are in a cock measuring contest and Congress is blocking Russian businesses in retaliation.

They probably won't ban it, but if they do say goodbye to all the cheap Russian steelcase in every caliber.
>>
>>34315808
what is the point in throwing money in the middle east?
>>
>>34315827
There isn't. I'd be perfectly happy if we just nuked the fucking cube then the rest of the place while they're all chimping out and be done with it. Even the fucking """"""good guys""""""' and """""moderate rebels""""""" are fucking communists.

It isn't everything Russian, it's certain Russian companies. Kalashnikov Concern is owned by Rostec and Rostec is subject to sanctions, and therefore KC gets hit as well

I think what he's saying is that the Molot sanctions aren't technically new, they're an extension of the already existing sanctions against Kalashnikov Concern.

Exactly. A fair few of the new sanctions had noted that as the reason for being made, including the one on Molot.

Okay my bitching aside, realistically if trump even gave a shit its not like he could have done anything. Senate agreed 98-2 for increasing sanctions, so even if he said no they could have just overridden his veto.

Still not thrilled with lack of any progress on any pro gun things.

Its not ATF's fault they cant make a legal import, (shit they had Archers imported with IO) Arsenal Bulgaria and Century does it fine as well as Molot's and Saigas were fine (Until the ban). There is nothing stopping Radom from making a US plant at all besides funds or a will to do so.

Yep. Only two people who voted against the sanctions were Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders.

None of this is really Trump's fault, and it doesn't really suggest Barnaul is about to take it on the nose either based on the reasoning for the Molot sanction in the press release.

>Are these headstamped differently?
Yes.
The Wolf white box from Barnaul has the cyrillic "Gn3" logo on it, as well as on the headstamp.
The Klimosvk Wolf white box has their logo, a tear drop shaped thing with a circle inside, on the box and headstamp.

so.

who wants to buy some machines and start making milled AKs?

can't be that difficult. everyone and their uncle has a company that makes ARs, these days.
>>
>>34316221
heh *smacks mic* jeb you're a mess
>>
>>34316234
First you have to find someone with milled ak tooling, that isn't clapped out, then someone that wants to sell it.

Good luck with that.
>>
>>34316258
do you really need anything specialized?

can't we just use generic CNC mills and cold hammer forge?
>>

They stopped making milled stuff in like the 60's, then the north koreans and chinese got the tooling probably.
>>
>>34316367
well it isn't like the Russians are going to have much of a market. EU is banning gun ownership. No AKs in Canada. No more exports to the USA. anywhere else that allows civilians to own semi auto rifles, is not even worth it.
