Bakelite mags I would say are pretty common, In my experience Id say the a pretty durable though they aren't exactly cheap going for about 40-50 dollars.

There a so many different mounts for AKs its a bit ridiculous but RS Regulate and Ultimak are pretty much the best though other anons here will probably disagree.

I'd personally go with the no slr107-11 because then you have way more options to customize it.

For my first conversion I did a .223 saiga. Cost me around $100 for everything for just the basic rear conversion. I left the stock handguard and didn't thread the barrel. Total spent including the rifle: $450. This was pre-obama.

This one is a 7.62. Came with the barrel threaded so it was pretty much the same price to convert, but the stock (bonesteel skelly) was around 150 by itself. Probably totalled 850-900 including the mags, only because the damn thing cost 600 to begin with...

The 5.45 mags are straighter than the 7.62 mags. The 54r and .308 mags are fat, I would just assume its a 54r rather than .308 because its just so much more common. Look at pics of a 47 and 74 side by side and the mags are very distinctly different.

They look exactly the same. Some older aks have a 90 degree gas block, all 5.45s ive seen have 45, some new 7.62 aks have a 45 as well. Aside from reading the side of it I cant think of a way. The furniture is used interchangeably as well a lot of times.

Well it doesnt look as nice as the original one, but for a battlefield repair stock from the Yugoslav wars I really cant complain. Seems to be made from a 2x4 and painted with some black paint that I couldn't completely remove, that gives it a nice tiger pattern when the light hits it right. Plus it gives me an extra inch or so which is really nice. Whoever made it also contoured the cheek rest area so its really nice, like it was made for my face.

I cant get the fucking picture flipped.
