I sold mine a year ago or so. Not really practical. Two romanian top loaders though, comparing those to even the surplus back loaders (Romanian, Chinese, or otherwise), there's just no comparison. The top loaders are far more robust, don't rattle as much, are easier and simpler to load, etc

Stupid Question Anon from yesterday's thread. For mid-to-high end AK's, Arsenal SLR-107-11 vs DDI? I want an easily customizable, quality built AK under $1K.
Last thread 2 anons told me that the SLR would be the best, just looking for more opinions.
AKOU's video on the SLR-107-11 showing the muzzle device pin getting stuck concerns me. But the SLR seems to be in stock on a few different sites, whereas the DDI is not.
Unrelated to the comparison, how does the bolt hold open work on some AK's? I've seen it in a few AKOU videos and it only works sometimes, and it closes when removing the mag. Is it related to the specific magazine?

Do your research and you'll find that the SLR will be the better of your two choices for many many reasons. And AK's don't have a BHO featured (most of the time). It'll be a great gun. But it'll probably weigh a bit more than it has to for a 762x39 rifle. I got 308 20" because I like big boolets causing big effects downrange, and it's just 10c/r more expensive to shoot vs 762x39. Just me, but I've always preferred the way 20" veprs look above all else when it comes to sporters or these folders.

Based on my experiences, there's nothing but good things to say about it. That rubber pad sure makes recoil negligible feeling. Also, I added an rpk style(except compatible with 30cal) flash hider to mine that you can kindof see in the pic. The bulgarian rpk flash hiders kvar sells would kaboom your 30cal gun because the hole is only 22cal.

I've heard they work great from an anon who has ~5 20rders for his 308 vepr. And IMO, it's worth the extra hundred to get the 308, and I'd personally get an arsenal or equivalent 762x39 ak. I just prefer the modern ak-74ish features on anything 556/545/762.
