How do we feel about XM855?
I found one of those 420 round ammo cans at the local gun/knife store and I might have bought it.
I normally just shoot cheap M193, but my rifle has a 1/7 twist, so it should like the slightly heavier bullet.

However, ballistically, how does it stack up against the 193? What about for SD purposes? I know it doesnt penetrate armor as well as 193 despite being considered a light-armor penetrator bullet, but how are the terminal ballistics?

Windham makes a good rifle. Their warranty is pretty great too. Local shop had two post-sample Windhams that run like swiss clocks and never get cleaned. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if that were my budget range.

I 100% understand the 1x red dot with a 3x flip to side magnifier. It makes sense - are you going to be at mostly red dot ranges and occasionally need extra range, or are you exclusively at long ass ranges and need an optic to do so. Pretty much right then boils down to the red dot + mag vs ACOG + RMR

But if you are going a full 6x magnification, I don't understand why you wouldn't go for a full scope. It just seems fucking weird to me. Especially since at any range you might employ 6x, your red dot isn't going to be zeroed for, whereas with magnified glass you have drop reticles for precisely that reason
