i used the KAC RIS on both the m4 and m16a4 and i can tell you this, by itself itis not ergonomic and the rail panels jiggle ever slightly but it was enough to trigger my OCD without securing them with chicken wire

i found like 2-3 KAC rail panels out in the mojave desert for free, most likely i assume because a jorhead dropped them on accident off their M16

KAC rail system is pretty robust, i've banged it up good a few times, but it also gets hot as fuck without panels after 3-4 mags and it isn't ergonomic by itself, you will probably want a foregrip to avoid cooking your hand if this is the rail you choose

I set it just high enough to lock the bolt back on steel case ammo without a suppressor and confirm that it's not overgassed when shooting M193 with a suppressor. I have this exact block on an 11.5.

I use the non bleed off section for un-suppressed, as I don't own a suppressor of my own, but I have access to a lot of them.

When I'm able to use them I just adjust it to the bleed off chamber.

It isn't a cure-all for blow back, but it does help quite a bit.

If I'm not bouncing back and forth between suppressed and un-suppressed I set and forget, I just count how many turns my rifle likes.

Not at all. If you have a telescoping stock (IE a standard M4 stock) you have to pin it so it becomes "fixed." You can affix a pistol grip to literally anything you put your mind to so that doesn't mean anything either. And as far as I know they can't really get you on constructive intent either because a pistol grip and telescoping or folding stocks are legal if you go the alternate route and use a fixed magazine.

Check our Survivor Systems and Hera. If you're looking to go featureless I'd recommend using either of those or a Magpul fixed carbine stock with your choice of grip since they will all allow you to use a standard carbine buffer tube with no modifications.
