Hey guys, I want to put an MRO on my SLR-104fr and I was wondering if any of you guys have experience with link related
http://www.primaryarms.com/mi-aksmg2-mro
I don't want to fuck around with the RS regulate stuff and having a full length side rail would be cancer. I just want something that looks like it belongs and this is a close as I can get but I can't find any info on them.
>>
>>33688604
Probably had to due with the molds and ease of manufacturing

Paging /akg/ resident autist for clarification
>>
>>33688650
It's a nice mount that will work very well with whatever you put on it.
Or like me you can do some research and get a psop
https://kalinkaoptics.com/rifle-scopes/posp.html?p=1
>>
>>33688650
Here it is on their website
https://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/product-p/mi-aksmg2-mro.htm
They also have one for aimpoints, acogs, etc. What do you guys think?
>>
>>33688679
More interested in a red dot. If I'm going for a magnified optic I'm going for one of those 2.5x or whatever scopes with the ACSS reticle with an ACOG base.
>>
>>33688347
I just hope you didn't fuck up your life by dropping out of university and NEETing it up with your grandparents for that period of time because that's what I've been doing. Spent like $5k of the life insurance on guns and ammo, kek. Barely even scratching the surface though. Apparently she was like three months out from the value of the insurance plan almost quadrupling. Almost wish she hadn't have set that up though, thinking about money with all that really has bugged me.
>>
>>33688698
>I want something that looks like it belongs

Which one is it. Link related, a red dot and mount that was actually manufactured for the ak

I don't want some heavy bullshit. The Russians are about a decade behind the west in optics technology. My statement was referring to me not wanting something covered in rails.

An MRO weighs 5 oz and then on an RS regulate mount (not want I want mind you, it's just the only one I can find that's comparable and has weight data on it) you're talking about 6 oz more. That's a pretty significant different, 4oz+, even more if you compare it to an Obzor.

Thinking of getting an AK here. What kind of compatibility research do I have to do for AK bump fire stocks? Are they less plug-and-play friendly than AR bump stock? Anything in particular I should look out for (i.e. won't fit on an AK pistol without modification)?

So how does arsenal Bulgaria serialize their bolt carriers on their SLRs? Are they all consecutive from 0000 to 9999 or do they just start at 0000 and end wherever they end when they change the date code? Do you think they make more than 9999 of each SLR rifle a year?

Yeah, the triangle folder is as easy as pushing a pin out and swapping the stock. I also heard about the issues with their finish bubbling off but after nearly 1000 rounds and many magdumps I have not noticed anything wrong with my paint. As for the price, they can charge what they want because they are the only combloc AKS-74 clone we can buy. I had to save up for a bit but I don't regret it at all. Let me know if you want pictures of specific parts.

AK related:

Can we expect the price of the AK pattern to decrease over the next year? I've seen shops practically giving away m&p handguns and even a few radio adverts for MIR (never ever heard or seen any gun advertising before that). AR parts and even whole rifles come through my email on sale daily as people try to dump stock.

Not AK related:

54 means it was made in 2014. Not sure where they start numbering the rifles (mine is 13XX). Maybe they start at 1000 for that run?
>>
>>33691364
First number tells what year it was made. Year 2000 the number was 40, year 2001 is 41, and so on. Not sure if they start at 0 or at 1000 or whatever. I think it has to do with the model (see a lot of 104s that start at 1000).
>>

>>33691559
The max you can contribute to a Roth is $5500/year unless you're an old shit. The only requirement to contribute is to have earned income in the year you are contributing. Roth contributions are post-tax, you pay income tax now and it grows tax free. 401k is a good option to lower the amount of income you're paying tax on because 401k contributions are made pre-tax, with the idea that you pay income tax on it when you retire, but optimistically your living expenses are much lower so you only need to withdraw $30k/year or so. Your company will probably also match your contributions up to a certain percent of your income contributed, literally free money towards your retirement, provided your company's owner doesn't fraudulently uproot the 401k and fly to South America with millions of other people's retirement money.

And, actually. 401k also has contribution limits. And/or buy silver, comic books, lego sets, guns, etc. however you want to plan for retirement or however early you want to retire. But keep in mind it's pretty much always better to start early so your money can start growing right away. So if you plan to ever save for retirement, there's no time like the present to get started. It's also a good cushion. For example, if you have a demonstrable hardship, you can withdraw money from your 401k without penalty, even if you're not retired. You will have to pay income tax on it, but there's no getting around that, you avoided income tax when you put it in, but you can't have your cake and eat it too.

The key takeaway is that if you plan to ever save for retirement, the best time to start is yesterday.

When she was on birth control and when she got off and we tried for a kid yeah, never used a condom in my life until after we had a baby as she hasn't gotten back on birth control yet. My wife and I are those kinds of freaks who never had sex with anyone else and waited until we were married to have sex so there was no risk of anything happening other than getting pregnant (but she was on birth control so that was unlikely and we were married so even if it happened we would have been alright with it)

I want a vepr. What do?

I always wanted a saiga 12 growing up. The vepr 12 is super nice, but I haven't shot a shotgun in 2 or 3 years. I just don't have any shotgun stuff to do.
I'd also like a 308 vepr with a scope. I like the standard vepr but the super vepr has grown on me a lot.

What does a super vepr look like naked? Are Russian optics worth it or if I buy it, should I throw down the dosh for a good scope?

Plug and play and centered over bore.

I wouldn't expect you to know anything but most builders run up to $400 tops. The fact you paid $550 is just halarious.
Also, the fact that you claim to have all this knowledge and posses zero skills to do any work on your own rifles besides swap some furniture around just reinforces that you need to shut the fuck up sometimes.

>I wouldn't expect you to know anything but most builders run up to $400 tops
Most reputable builders start in the mid $300s and go up from their, not $400 tops. That's not including demilling a kit, parkerizing, or refinishing in any way.

To get a proper kit built with a good finish (like his appears to be), $550 is in the ballpark of correct.
Depending on the builder (Mario at PoHF for autistic detail) and build itself, up to $750 is correct.

Honestly, depending on where he had it built, $550 is right.

>t. anon that has kits built by reputable builders and gets multiple quotes for builds, not one that just speaks out of his ass

They do that?
I wonder if they'd post about my Saiga conversion being finished? They're only doing the three barrel components, but it's still been 4 months.
>>
>>33698377
They post regular updates and Mike likes to show off some of their more unique builds. The '88 Izzy he showed specifically to show off how they were recreating the dimpled barrel components.

Given how much he's said he likes the '83 kit I sent him, I fully expect to see it show up on his IG when it's done. Not sure if a Saiga conversion would get featured solo though.

I was having trouble getting my lawnmower engine back together (I put new rings on the piston and don't own a ring compressor, so it was hard sliding the cylinder over the new larger rings) until I put my rainbows on and then it just went back together lickity split!
There's literally nothing they can't do.

Got a Saiga AK-74, and I'm planning on removing the front sight block and install a new one with threads to attach a muzzle break, lug, and a space for the cleaning rod. Was wondering if I should take it to a gunsmith to take care of that, or if I can do it myself.

The front sight block is affixed with dimples, and I do not have access to any presses.
>>
>>33699228
Gun smith, don't try to home smith it or you'll end up drilling through your barrel or with a sight so canted you'll cry. At least a gunsmith is liable.
>>
>>33699197
That's magic right there.
>>33699175
I'll make sure to do that!
>>
>>33699228
It """"""can"""""" be done at home, but if you don't have the tools or the experience then you'd be better off letting a pro do it.

One guy on here tried to do it and in doing so drilled a hole through one side of his barrel. You have to drill out those dimples and he didn't stop. Just kept going until the bit went right through.

He's probably here. Make yourself known. How's it going with your gun?

>>33700212
I've had no issues with the gun since I've had it outside of needing to replace the piston return spring after like 5k or 6k rounds. When shooting Chinese copper washed surplus I'd occasionally (like one every 60 rounds or so) have to push the bolt back into battery as it wouldn't go into battery on its own, but I haven't shot Chicom surplus in a very long time so that hasn't been an issue in ages. I sold my SKS about a year after I bought my vz and I noticed no difference in accuracy between them (or just about any 7.62x39 gun I've shot as they've all been similar enough accuracy wise)
