Springers, pcp, pca, co2, whatever floats your boat.
Got a question about air rifles? Shoot.
Why are even low powered ones so fucking expensive
if you can get a .22lr for 40 bucks, why not a cheap spring piston for similar??
how many .17 BBs can you fit into your penis?

Airguns/air rifles are /k/. Airsoft is /toy/.
>>33651411
because a $40 spring piston won't hit shit, not to mention wrecking your optics faster than the proverbial BBC does yo' momma's ass.
Those are $700 air rifles in the OP, with $400+ scopes on them, and the difference between that and a 40 dollar springer is that you MIGHT hit a beer can with a 40-buck rifle at 15 meters, and I can hit a blu-tack at 50m with mine (assuming I get the wind right).
Also - pellets are cheaper than .22lr, and with a silencer, a pcp is a real whisper gun.
Also also - pellet rifles are superior to firearms for pest control, a .22 air rifle (even what you call a "low powered" 12fpe/16J one) can take rabbit at 50 yards, and I'm not even talking about FAC rifles yet. Like the ones that can pop a cinder block, and are used for hunting bears.

Mine is a break action and it has a really long and heavy trigger? What should I do with it to make it lighter?
>>33651720
is it adjustable?
If it's a high end break action like a LGV, it will have both 1st, and 2nd stage adjustment. Not so high end ones only have 1st stage adjustment, and the cheapos don't, so it your's falls in the latter category, there might not be anything you can do about it.
>>33651734
It was about 170
>>33651741
a model name, or brand would help. If there are no screws in the trigger mechanism, then outside of replacing it there isn't much you can do. You could send it in fore a tune up if you know someone who does that, but there's generally little point in investing much effort into cheap air rifles.
>>33651783
Norica Titan. There aren't any screws in the trigger mechanism, so I guess I have to get used to it
>>33651841
Could be worse. Not everyone starts off with walther and aa.
Depends on what you're shooting with it.
>>33651441
Can I plink a few into your face since it's just a toy?
Caselman SMG
Full auto
Full lethal
Why isn't this more popular.
Basically free ammo if u make it yourself and propellant is free.

Been waiting for a thread like this for a while, I found an old Gamo Hunter in .22 it's got a few rust spots and the wooden furniture is really dirty, what should I do to "restore" it, I think I could make for a fun backyard plinking device, it's also missing the scope, should I mount a cheap dovetail to Weaver rail and a cheap chinky red dot or what
>>33654160
>mounting a scope on a cheap springer
sure, if you like throwing money away.
Cheap springers can wreck scopes rated for .375 H&H magnum. If you absolutely must, get a one piece mount, and a fixed magnification scope (preferably with a 30mm tube), rated for spring piston rifles.
>>33654201
I don't actually need a scope or red dot, I would be fine with iron sights but I don't know how or what to install on a rifle like this
Pic related is what I assume it used to be the front iron sight mount
>>33654407
if you have the front post, and the lockup is good enough, you might get a diopter and use the 11mm dovetail i'm assuming the rifle has already, then shoot with that - for plinking and up to 20m, that will be fine.

Why are CO2 and PCP airguns such low-velocity compared to nitro piston and springers? I mean, the absolute highest velocity PCP .22cal that Pyramyd Air sells is like 650fps vs. 1120fps with a nitro piston (yes I know the nitro is listed with ~6.5gr "PBA" ammo and the PCP is listed with 8gr lead pellets). And it's only good for 7 shots per tank and costs $1000.
>>33654509
Because skirted (aka diabolo) pellets suck at transsonic speeds.
At 671 fps, a pellet's weight in grains is equal to its energy in fpe. My .22 tx200hc fires a 15.89grain pellet at 560 fps (170 m/s) which is 11 fpe (15 J).
Advertising 1200 fps with light pellets is bullshit - there's no accuracy, and light pellets lose energy way to fast to hunt with.
Also, there are "magnum class" (25J) springers that are over the limit most european countries have (16 J or 12 fpe), that competition guns have to match. Unless you look for FAC class air rifles.
allright /k/, i know little about air rifles
i bagged my self a HK85W for £130, good condition. i do well?

I know Crosman used to make a PCP airgun AR upper in .177. Does anyone else make something similar in .22?
I have a Webley Vulcan, a Webley Tempest, a BSA, and a couple of Predom Luczniks.
Cheap air rifles aren't useless. The Ruger Airhawk shoots well, as does the Gamo. .177 ammo is way, way cheaper than rimfire ammo, and in my opinion shooting a springer makes you a better shooter.
