ordered two level 4 plates and the last of the stuff for my PC. Next step is helmet and possibly comms. But I'm holding off on buying a helmet atm, because I think NFM is restocking on Ops Core helmets soon, and I' hope they're restocking on maritime helmets.

English civil war armor looks dope AF

OPS Core is overweight, overhyped, and overpriced. if you ask me, take a look at the MTEK FLUX Ballistic Helmet TNVC has for sale 1.1lbs for 3A is god-tier next to Safariland Delta-X.

Some anons asked some questions about my stuff in the last thread, but I didn't get back to it before it archived. The rhino mount is just carry over from active duty, I don't have a Kevlar or bump helmet for it, much less nods. The blue tape is actually from basic, in fort benning, I just never took it off. As far as the admin pouch, I think that maps and local reference guides are extremely important. And I have a recon handbook in there for when I go out shooting with my civilian buds, they like to learn about tacticool shit so I oblige them

We got two 1 qts and one 2qt. All the gear was ALICE and we had M16A2s.

I was one of the first (if not the first) rotation to get UCP/ACUs, but all we got were the basic uniforms, everything else was woodland stuff.

It was very awkward when the Drill Sergreants had us do facepainting and then tried to demonstrate how much more a painted face blended somebody into the woods while they were wearing mooncamo uniforms.

This was back when LBV and PVS-7s were considered "fucking neato".

Probably not much. I don't think anyone believes it saves weight. It's more modular. You can attach molle to it, in my case I will be clipping in a D3CR which has a velcro panel covering the rear, mating perfectly with the exposed velcro on the PC.

Why would anyone worry about the negligible weight difference between molle and velcro when you are throwing 15 lbs worth of plates inside anyway?

>But as a Eurocuck, OpsCore is the only option I have atm, I believe.
Tell me more fellow Eurocuck, I´m looking for a source for Ops-Core helmets in Europe. Is it Norsegear that is their retailer or what?
>>
>>32796282
NFM//equipnor, they are the ones providing most of the special equipment for the Norwegian Army. But they usually get a new batch of gear at the beginning of each year, recently restocked on new arcteryx gear. They previously said they'd restock on opscore helmets the 2nd February, but removed it, probably delays. They recently updated and is selling some gear in Sweden and Poland.

NorseGear.com

I'm considering getting an ops core fast ballistic helmet, but they only have my size(m/l) in black, and I would prefer tan or green, or a maritime helmet for that matter, which is why I'm holding off.

It was still expensive and difficult to get. You have to know someone in Mexico who can get their hands on it, really. I just happened to luck into mine.

The Marina uniforms are almost identical to the NWU type III that I have. Material is the same weight and slickness, and the pants are very similar. Elastic waistband, and the pockets and buttons are the same.

I haven't tested it under either of my NV devices, but if it's real US4CES and not dummed down, it's the most effective camo under infrared out there.

doggo, not alright.jpg
80KB, 654x872px
>>32793772

well queeros here's a good example why keeping extra med shit in your gear is a good idea

>doggo in picture attacked by pitbull
>had to beat pitbull with a rebar and choke it out
>doggo has canine fang penetration wounds down to skull/jawbone
>quarter inch of scalp is removed from bone
>we washed out doggos wound with iodine + had to stitch piece of scalp back to skin
>pitbull was delivered to doggo hell via .30-30 afterwards

shit experience, wounds had an arrow-point profile and packing gauze effectively was out of the question, which is all i had in my IFAK at the time. i had left a syringe/suture kit collecting dust in a tough box luckily which helped evade a $700 vet bill (yes they charge this much since they put the dogs to sleep for these injuries)

prob a good idea to have some sort of stitching kit with your shit for those oddball non-combat wounds, or a CLS bag that helps you conserve your IFAK contents so when your retard buddy kicks a cactus for 5 bucks you'll have something more specific for that kind of wound
>>
>>32799882
Please bring doggo to vet.
>>
>>32799925
Yeah no shit, without abx your dog is going to get an infection, iodine isn't going to be enough for the deep bite wounds.
>>
>>32799925
>>32799980

we have both liquid anti-biotics, amoxicillin/penicillin pills in the house so the dog will be alright

unfortunately this is not the first attack this dog survived, it's previous abusive owner bathed it in vodka to clean it's wounds and let it sit in a shed outside with fleas on it for 2 weeks before getting rid of it
>>
>>32800050
To each their own, but unless your legally qualified to be prescribing antibiotics and sewing up skin, you should let the professionals atleast tell you what to do. $700 isn't that much to patch up your best friend, I'm sure even if you just brought him in and asked for advise they could charge you a lot less and atleast give you a direction to go in, but I'd highly discourage self-prescribing. This isn't SHTF man, anyway hope everything works itself out, best of luck to your doggo in recovery, and glad he's alive

Had my basic first aid and CPR course today.

For wound first aid, they covered basic bandaging with gauze, tourniquets for limbs when shit's really bad (and why you shouldn't leave it on for too long), and quick clot like products in gauze (apply like normal gauze bandage).

CPR shit was basic chest compressions (30 compressions at rate of 100-120/minute, 2 - 2.5 inches deep) followed by 2 rescue breaths (pull head back to open airway, pinch nose, blo in mouth), cycle back to chest compressions.

I don't know exactly what they taught you for bandaging but be aware that generally penetrating trauma to flesh creates wounds that won't be stopped by surface level bandaging. Wound packing is the preferred way.

Anyone know where I can score a Russian Ratnik 6e6 multitool for a decent price? I know Grey Shop has them, but they're over $100. Also, some anon in another thread mentioned that the Russians have ballistic plates made out of titanium because of their massive titanium supply. Is this true? Id probably go with the grimlock, but any will work. Theres a million options out there. But to be honest, id proably just use a normal strength carabiner. If your gonna have a carabiner on your gear, it might as well be something you can use in multiple situations anyway.

I mean I keep one on my gear thats probably like 4-5in and ive used it for repelling before. Doesnt get in the way, and isnt heavy.

because you are just spewing shit you can't even back up yourself. You can't just say "you look like shit, Hit the gym" when you're not even fit yourself, and then brush every GQ under the same comb. What about GarandThumb, he's a GQ, yet I'd argue he's fitter than a pussy like you.

And yes I am fucking autistic, I have 3 main reasons to leave my house. Get to work. Go training. Travel to my cabin for shooting and training with gear. Yet I doubt you have at least 2 or even 1 of those reasons.

Congrats, you btfo of yourself, better than I could have hoped for. You also haven't backed up any of your claims either, friend; not that I asked for any. You did, however, play yourself like a bitch.

I bet you though lifting would get you girls too.

>This is what autists actually believe
>>
>>32805888
what claims do I have to back up? I just told you, you can't back up your own shit, you call others out for looking like shit, saying /GQ/ only cares about gear and not staying fit, and then you wont even post a pic of yourself, even admitting to not being that fit.
At least I'm honest with myself, I have social anxiety, I don't spend my Friday and Saturday nights going to bars and being social. I go to parties if I'm invited because it's rude not to.

Least I don't put people down for being out of shape when I don't even have the balls to post a pic of myself. Friendly reminder that not everyone is a 20 year old something, that feels the need to hang out and desperately need to find confirmation from friend. Most people are satisfied with themselves and their own goals. If it's making a selection, or just being able to save up for gear they want. They don't need negative pussies like you, trying to bring them down to their own pathetic level, because they can't work themselves up. You even keep calling me a fatso, even tho I have given you no reason to assume I'm fat, the projecting is insane.
If you want to know my current weight so bad, sure. 81kg, 181cm, currently cutting to 78 since winter is over. I admit GT is probably fitter than me, but I never claimed he wasn't, unlike you.

Idgaf about validation from anyone, let alone my peers, and I'm 27 lol. Long past my partying prime and I seldomly spend my weekends at bars. It's a waste of cash and Id rather not waste my daily calories on alcohol, not to mention it's hard to find the time when every night is spent at the gym. Plus being comfy with the GF and some small group of friends is way better than some loud club. You should try it sometime.

If I hurt /GQ's/ feefees by daring to bring a dose of reality to some dude, then I'm sorry you're a giant pussy. I was rused, didn't realize the pic was a meme, but I obviously struck a chord with the resident crybaby.

>You're negative waaahhhh

>Not a fitness thread

>Leave people alone

You sound like a god damn woman. Learn to take some fucking criticism and move on, you fucking wimp. It boggles the mind how dudes can spend thousands on choice gear (which they're obviously free to do, no shit), yet neglect their own bodies, literally making that gear useless. I was just raised not to be a wasteful fag who tries to impress people on the internet, but then again having both parents married and in the house as a kid has its benefits. Sorry your shit sucked, and still does.

It's pretty clear how fucking infuriated you are by all this, so in order to prevent your suicide, I'll fuck off. And for the record I never even implied I was more fit than GarandThumb. I can guarantee he's in better shape than anyone here, surely yourself included. Calm down and move on big guy

When I get around to taking my TH-D72A and MD-380 out and actually testing them.

Wrote up a quick thing about a few Fortrex's but their fucking GPS's so they basically just need to work and work well, that's about it.

Otherwise I have some fixes to the list that people have complained about or suggested as well as merging the UV-82hp with the uv-5r and varient list (since they're all so similar) and a BF-F8hp semi separate review.

Otherwise I'd love to hear suggestions, I do my best to be impartial and check my findings against other people's as well as a decently short compiled list of technical stats so you can buy the right PTT / antenna etc that way you don't have to Google all around if you just had a pure list of names.

you chose to generalize and imply it. Also all this projecting, you're just throwing pointless insults with no ground, and it's obvious you either have something to prove, or is dissatisfied with something. It's just too bad you can't back it up, and is pussying out for the second time in this thread, claiming it's for the sake of my life. I don't have a problem arguing with people like you. Yes I would, though it depends on your level of expertise and what you want. If you want to poosh button and hear noise and that's it go with the 5r. If you want a higher output, things like Duel PTT, and a larger battery (by an entire 1Ah) as well as A/B beep tones then the 82's worth it.

I would reccomend, however getting the high powered version if you have cash to spare. The extra 3W makes all the difference in a storm or over hills.

Digital repeaters have very little noise and gain loss until the end of their coverage range, where quality with analog systems always decreases significantly with distance whereas digital systems are fine up until the end of their coverage range and then start to shit the bed. Also no analog static.

FEC is also nice especially with the lower noise floors and higher gain antenna's.

I'd like to act like a hard-ass about it but I was shitting bricks. I was in the woodline before they even parked their cars though, it's about a 1/2 mile drive from the main road to where my house/farm was at the time. Also kick myself for yelling at them and giving my general position away, but end of the day, deep down I didn't want to kill anyone, no matter what their intent. I was ready to, but at that moment was hoping a voice from the darkness 30 or so yards away threatening to murder them all would be enough motivation to leave, and it was.
>>
>>32814891

>>32814908
Yeah one of my "neighbors" is a deputy that had a farm about 1.5 miles down the road. He came out that night after they stopped those dudes and picked them up.

He said if they presented a legitimate threat and I was in fear for my life on my own farm, I had every right to shoot them. That's a deputy though, the DA and jury always has their opinion, which was also going through my mind when I decided to yell at them.

I would most definitely had said they were pointing their pistols at me had I decided to shoot first. The fact I didn't see guns on two of them would have been an issue and who knows if I would have had the calmness or frame of thought to leave them standing until they presented a threat.

Given they had shot a lady in the stomach in her own house a week before a county over, pretty sure the judge/DA/jury would have been pretty firmly on my side.

>>32814946
Yeah thats what I was thinking. Over all id argue you did the right thing though. Especially because of how they reacted (Ran away). If they turned and shot you.. well then I wouldnt say you did the right thing. I can imagine it must have been a terrifying moment. I always think about those moments, where you have to yell, but its extra hard when your in a terrified state. For sure a hard call, if not everyone was armed aswell, as youd probably shot them too just in haste. 10/10 would trust you in battle

>>32814964
Interesting. You meet a lot of fellow westerners out there? Stay safe, and thank you.
>>
>>32814985
To be fair if I was exposed I don't know if I would have yelled. I was posted behind a tree partially which provided some cover. It was also 30 yards away in pitch black. Even if they had shot in my direction I'm confident they would not have hit me unless it was a supremely lucky shot. I had the advantage with night vision, the initiative and an IR laser. Hope I never have another reason to use this shit in a serious manner like that though, definitely shaken up a little for the rest of that night.

All the mags will have +3 on them. I live in a cuck state too, so I cant have over 10 anyway (legally). Also im considering carrying my radio on my belt. However probably wont just use to weight. I dont want it to get too heavy and need a harness. So we will see. Radio is Beofang UV82V2.

Its huge improvement over my mich 2000, but ive only wore plastic helmets for work. I will say that the passive cooling is the tits, humid ass wisconsin summers and you can feel almost like a breeze going through the helmet. The lighter weight is nice too because i mostly use it for NVG mounting, but there is a heavier ATX? version that has the NIJ ratings of a MICH.
In all honesty i wanted an OPS-CORE Maritime but they were on 8 month lead time from TNVC, but ive heard mixed reviews of them too.
Ive also heard good things about the Delta X (from GT desu) and the MTEK, dont have any experience with those but just some other options
What ever you choose I highly recomend upgrading the padding to either 4G or team Killary and possibly one of the "Cable dial" systems that OPS Core or Team Killary offer

Who is deploying CS/OC against someone armed and in full tacticool gear? Even so the odds of running into them in the states are extremely low as the "grenades" are regulated or expired.

Some wet wipes or sudecon wipes will be far more useful than a bulky, heavy , consumable and restrictive mask system.
