So it turns out my SLR 104 has a canted rear sight. I've never noticed after nearly two years of owning it. The gas tube as always been tighter to get off than any of my other AKs and that's when I finally noticed it. It functions fine after thousands of thousands of rounds and it zeroes just fine with the front sight slightly moved to one side, about 1.5mm off center

Should this trigger my autism or should I not care?

So the yugo wasn't really my first choice, but it was election day and I was in a (thankfully unnecessary) hurry to get an ak.
as far as performance goes I really enjoy it, I've got around 600 rounds through it with no trouble.
That being said I had to fix the look a bit, what do you guys think?

vZ58 for an RPK? Ooo, that's a tough one. RPK has a longer/heavier barrel and bipod, which is nice, but vZ.58 has smaller/handier like an AKM but also accepts either mag swaps or clips which allows for a MUCH lighter loadout than a typical AKM. I also rather prefer short stroke gas pistons over long stroke or direct impingement. Then there's the sexy beaver puke furniture... not sure if you made the right decision there. The RPK is probably more accurate though, to be fair, and likely has less felt recoil due to the weight. What do you figure? Think that firearm is better than the vZ?

I've noticed this as well. Butthurt like that comes but only once a year. Ian seems like he would want a lot of money for that though. Are there fake true black mags? I just got my first ones ever in the mail today and one looks normal, but the other one's izzy symbol is very small and the stamp on the spine looks like an A in a square while the normal one has a circled K

I've seen plenty of bake and plum mags with variations in size in the factory symbol. It comes down to how the mold was made.

I've seen the "AK's are more reliable" thing but Have also seen AR's take a beating and still function. Also seen that AR's have a farther effective range, but is there a comprehensive chart lying around?
